So which DT archetype would their Synchro ace be running? "Doha Katana" would be associated with Warriors, so perhaps X-Sabers or Gustos would fit the bill of Synchro Summons and Warriors. Unless he's running a Quickdraw Doppelwarrior Deck...

Yeah, I was thinking X-Sabers after seeing the episode title.

Anyways, time for my two cents about the episode:

Given that his duel record was 53-5, I wasn't surprised that he was going to play his deck pretty well, and tbh there were times when I thought that he was going to win, however I had to remember that Yuya has plot armour and wasn't going to lose seeing as Yuzu was going to get distracted during her duel.

After Hokuto summoned Sombre, I was starting to think "He's probs gonna summon an M7 during this turn." though I didn't think he'd use that.

Yuya using a different monster as a Pendulum monster was nice to see, though it was to be expected at some point sooner or later tbh.

To add, whenever Pleiades stopped Yuya from getting the Action Magic cards, to me it felt like Pleiades was Gary Oak as in he stops you at the worst possible time.

Regardless, I like how Swordfish had a lot of screen time to actually do things.

I agree, it definitely worked hard during that duel.

Also, just saying, the sub is out now btw guys.

Yeah, Hokuto was reluctant to stop Yuya at all costs from gaining Action Cards, which probably would have cost him the duel. But the Action here in the duel was good enough and justified to make the final clutch move of Yuya.

Doha will most likely use X-Sabers, since his design and the deck's unique spamming/power overwhelming methods would work good against somethign indomitable like Superheavy Samurais. Likely we'll see some Urbellum, Sousa or Gottoms action, but they did great at managing the Hokuto duel so who knows what to expect for the enxt few duels? It's really making me very excited.

The one thing I found interestign about the subbed episode was that since mastering Xyz, Hokuto went 40 duels without losing any lifepoints whatsoever, not to mention the other part of Yuya being disqualified if he didn't play a card or end his turn within the next minute as he was trying to get an Action card.

That seems like the biggest BS I've heard from a general duelist. Sure have a 90% win vs loss ratio but surely you can't be that arrogant and immediately disclose Yuya's struggling as a means to disqualify him, since frankly a few Action cards would exist after every End Phase. Hokuto is just a general arsehole duelist.

I think it might be a general rule or something, but then again it's the first time that has been mentioned in this series.

Well we sounds like he's sharking or saying it in a way that discourages Yuya's attempts, but stalling has always been a general rule n YGO, stanrdard or Action I guess.

Considering that running around (slowly) trying to gather Action Cards and not doing any other Duel-related actions would be ridiculous stalling, having a rule to prevent that makes perfect sense.

Also, considering what Constellars can do with Pleiades and such, and 4000 LP Duels and the general cardpools of the Arc-V anime thus far, I believe that he went so many Duels without taking damage.

Considering you could spam a punch of Gem-Knights within a turn Masumi would probably that similar ability, but I think Hokuto was just bragging/exaggerating his skill. Surely he could have had a streak of winning without LP loss but it could be less.

Every passing episode Sora looks more like he is a real friend of the group but at the same time he looks as suspicious as ever.

IDK what to expect of him. Also, haven't seen Yuya's mom in a few episodes.

I thought the same thing, he seemed kind of sinister in this episode with all of this "I expected that" at everything Hokuto did. Hopefully he doesn't actually turn out to be a villain.

I found it really interesting that Yuya broke the clause for Timegazer and Stargazer and was able to Pendulum Summon through use of Tiptoad and Timegazer when the Magicians state (mainly in the TCG) that you need either a Magician or Odd-Eyes monster in your other zone or it becomes a Scale of 4. Either way this was a pretty cool episode with the fact we got to see Trampolynx being summoned. I'm slowly losing my trust in Sora though, he seems pretty suspicious and he was smirking a lot throughout the episode.

I assume that Magician scale thing is like how Number 39 didn't have his self-destruct effect in Zexal. Main characters get away with not having the downsides us normal folks are stuck with.

And yeah...Sora's a little creep. Who can knock people out with magical lollipop powers. Which nobody seems to remember.

Sora didn't strike me as TOO suspicious. He originally planned to apply at LDS, before finding Yuya more interesting. By more or less stating that Hokuto was within his expectations suggests that he isn't really interested in the LDS students because they're predictable and boring. He likes Yuya's style of Dueling, and was disappointed that Yuya was playing too seriously and unlike himself early on.
