Astro Dude
Revenge eh. Maybe this dark Yuya is the son of the first guy the real Yuya beat officially, and plans to destroy Yuya's life the same way he destroyed his father's.
Just Crouton

That scene where Yuzu kept cutting off the other guy is the first time I've cracked a smile since GX.
Astro Dude
That would be like saying Yuya is Mega Man. So what is Yuzu, Roll?
Mugendramon
Just lemme put it out here, that Xyz Summon was disappointing. It was like watching Xros Wars and expecting a Warp Digivolve cutscene, then getting... well... what we got.
evilfusion
Just lemme put it out here, that Xyz Summon was disappointing. It was like watching Xros Wars and expecting a Warp Digivolve cutscene, then getting... well... what we got. Maybe they toned it down a bit on purpose, with the awareness that Zexal dramatized Xyz Summons to a ridiculous extreme, and that the audience for Arc-V probably have seen Zexal and are a bit bored of "dramatic" Xyz Summons. Fusion on the other hand...has been neglected badly and needed something awesome. Alternatively, Dark Yuya has a somber, unentertaining demeanor and a super-flashy Summon doesn't fit. Well... it wasn't even ominous. To be honest, all I'd have asked was the signature camera angle. You know... the characteristic camera angle for the vortex, at least. ~British Soul~
That scene where Yuzu kept cutting off the other guy is the first time I've cracked a smile since GX. That scene definitely was amusing. There was one thing which had been nagging my mind was in the beginning of the episode whenever the camera panned towards Shingo's friends, I could've sworn I heard the bg music somewhere before, because it definitely sounded familiar at least. Blake
Is who Shingo gives off similar vibes to. Alsio IV/Quatro/Thomas Arclight to a degree, but more Jack Spicer. Also Dark!Yuya's theme sounded like Tales of music, if that's what you meant.

Mugendramon
So... Does this mean that Odd-Eyes is Dojo? No? At this point I realize the show could end up having as much character development as Digimon Frontier if they don't make this a looooong ass show. Thomas★Zero
Is who Shingo gives off similar vibes to. You know the funny thing is that I could get around Shingo having Jack Spicer's VA in the Arc V dub. Still that battle stage for the duel just instantly makes me think of Saint Seiya. Astro Dude
Danny Cooksey? The guy from Salute Your Shorts? The guy from Tiny Toon Adventures? The guy who was Dave the Barbarian? Actually, that could work.
~British Soul~
Yeah, I can see Jack Spicer's VA voicing Shingo in the Arc-V dub as well. It'd definitely be amusing, and I'd be fine with that.
Βyakuya
It seems a bit stupid that they take Sawatari's unreliable claim that the Unknown Duelist was Yuya even though there were notes that he did speculate he looked like Yuma. But I guess it's just pretext to gauge Yuya's power with Pendulums, and to place the fact that LDS has some strong camaraderie. Also, Sora's creepy smiles whenever Himika makes some tough notes...getting more suspicious... It's just that they make the people at the You Show Duel School accept and comprehend things too quick without reasoning or show into why somethings are what they are in order to speed the plot up. Such as Yuya's Pendulum Trial and Error learning, Sora, and the Unknown Duelist. In other words, the pacing just seems too fast to make me believe that Yuya and people at You Show just accept and believe things as they come and go without the viewers to comprehend what they know. For me, it's a bit of a bother. Also, they're really starting to pick up the motif of all types of Summons here, so it's almost practically witholding the theory of multiple versions and stuff....and similar things. Along with details from the long dialogues, this is just an episode where the Subs are most crucial that I need to clear up on. But since there's a whole episode devoted to Hokuto vs Yuya, I'm ready to see Pleiades and bouncing action actually seen in anime. IT MUST BE SEEN

I agree with you. Throughout the episode I was thinking. "I need to re-watch the episode when it's subbed so I can gauge what the characters are saying." Sleepy
Especially since it was a no-duel episode. Sora is fusing his food.
Toffee.
Just saw the latest episode.Yuya is now mixed up in some crazy love triangle with Dark Duelist and Yuya's girlfriendEither way... Yuya dueling someone who, apparently, plays Constellars(Wiki seems to list this for some reason), has some potential.I mean, last week we had set-5-pass. Now this week, we have someone who uses something that's actually meta-ish.(Stellars were hot shit back in the day; shoosh)
Βyakuya
Well since Pleiades is a bouncer, he'd probably be forced to bounce back Odd-eyes since Yuya would Pendulum Summon it along with other Entermates to lower Pleiades's ATK. Even if Yuya can Pendulum again next turn, Yuya rarely plays backrow or anything that can actually pop his opponent's monsters so Hokuto can bounce him again. However, I think the way for him to win is by using Stargazer Magician's regular monster effect, while Yuya has to rely on another Pendulum Monster. After all, Stargazer can immediately return Odd-Eyes once it's been bounced, so with Entermate help Yuya would win that way. It has to be, and it would be the only way if it were to show viewers that Pendulums have regular monster effects too.
evilfusion
It occurs to me one reason to have an Xyz Duelist fight Yuya is because Odd-Eyes' effect only works against Level 5+ monsters. He can't rely on his usual tactics.
Astro Dude
Too late to say this but now the Gauntlet is thrown. Two out of three battles will determine Yuya's fate. If he wins he stays. He loses, he leaves Maiami city and never comes back. Yuya will win round one, Yuzu will botch round two and Sora has to win the final round, cause it's too early to have the main protagonist kicked out of the city for a crime he didn't commit. He can't rely on his usual tactics. For a moment I thought you were talking about Unknown and was gonna say 'But Dark Rebeliion is a Rank 4...' but then you were talking about this Hokuto chap, so yeah, good spot Fusion. Saw Sora mentioned that Hokuto's name suggested he'd be comfortable with a space field. Anyone know what it means? Google translate has nothing. Too late to say this but now the Gauntlet is thrown. Just watched the sub, and didn't see where that leave town stipulation was mentioned (unless you've looked ahead at ep 9?) Lol. Thinks that would or anything remotely bad would ever happen to the main protagonist and friends at any point of the series. Watched the ep. Transistion ep is transistion, but was decent enough. Does what it needs to.
