Didn't think there'd be much variety.- Ofc the "Battle Beast" would we using GBs. I know they were silhouetted at this moment in time, but it wasn't difficult to make out what monsters were used (Gyzarus and Laquari)- Before watching the episode, I was thinking that if the preview was anything to go by, Tsukikage would be getting cardified, and yeah he got cardified by the Battle Beast, who is a savage, even cardifying the academia students.- Shame we didn't get to see what happened to Sawatari, but I suspect he also got cardified (I did say, he probs had a good shot at being cardified), guess we'll find out in a week or two. Very little duelling actually onscreen.- I love that Crow's solution is to run people over.- I LOVED the ninja battle too. it's just as well Tsukikage can fight, because his deck sucks.- The random academia mooks actually seemed like humans. The guy getting his head crushed against a tree by that monster legit gave me Attack on Titan vibes.- So Edo had met up with Yugo, and they now know about parasite fusioner. this is good, I like quick progress.- Shun vs Ruri next time, FINALLY. (Given his personality thus far, it seems fitting)Gladiator Beasts apparently come in here, but I had to read the Wikia to find THAT out. Well, it guess it matches him.In a way, this really IS a survival duel, as not only do you need to deal with the other side but also Battle Beast; whoever he is.Sawatari is on the verge of getting carded; Tsukikage did, but at least tried to leave a message. Some of the Academia students appear to have gotten doubts about this program; either they're not willing to be carded or know that they're in danger either way.I expected a 5-vs-5 duel without any surprises; straight-on, then we deal with Battle Beast in two weeks. evilfusion Posted August 15, 2016 Report Share Posted August 15, 2016 [spoiler=Thoughts]I'm not even sure what I expect anymore. I note the Professor explicitly said to make sure Yuya is taken out. This intrigues me, actually. Either the Professor considers Yuya the greatest threat...or part of his plan may involve the Yuya counterparts being eliminated. There's no other evidence that this is the case, and it's just as possible that the Professor's received reports that Yuya keeps causing unrest among Academia's forces. I mean...Sora switched sides, the entire Academia presence in Xyz switched sides...etc. I did get concerned when it came down to the idea of the survival Duel, in the sense that literally only one person will survive. I promptly considered Tsusikage to be a card. His skill was always in being a ninja, never in Dueling. He would have lost in the Standard Battle Royale if not for Sawatari, lost in the Friendship Cup, would have lost to the Obelisk Force in Synchro if not for Sora, so it came as no shock that he lost here, too. And Sawatari is sure to bite the dust next because seriously, the writers don't like him. And I know Yuya survives, and that Gogenzaka survives for a while. It then becomes Crow I'm concerned about. Because seriously, if they're going to just have him get his ass kicked, then there was almost legitimately no point in bringing him back as a Lancer if they're just going to take him out in a heartbeat in the first Academia hurdle. Wait, so the Beastborg or whatever uses Glad Beasts? I shouldn't be surprised, but I kind of am. That explains a bit, actually. At least he left a message to the Lancers (Yuya and Gongenzaka) that there's an additional player before he got cardified. I will say this though, he was more suited to being a ninja than being a duelist.- After learning about the survival duel lesson, Crow comes to the conclusion that the academia are more rotten than security, and I'm not surprised Yuya doesn't like the idea of the survival duel.- During the survival duel, the students wondered if there was a bug in the system after the first student fell, but later figured out that the number of players was off.- When Aster spoke to Banana about the situation with the towers, the latter explained that it was a bug that was controlling them, leaving Aster to ponder... Thank you writers for now showing us basically the same duel twice.- So it turns out Shun was always a dick even pre-invasion. figures.- Shun's new falcon looks pretty cool.- Seems like winning a duel doesn't destroy the parasite. Welp, I'm out of ideas.- Finishing off the survival duel next time. Anime gladiator beasts, takes me back to the LDS trio ages ago. [spoiler parasite] I'm telling you, you probably have to destroy the card. Rip it, burn it, something. It will possibily result in the parasite just dying. But yeah, they're bird girls. (Episode title fits)Unlike Rin, Ruri apparently came to her senses and stopped herself from using Fusioner. Whether or not she's free from the parasite's influence remains to be seen.Shun basically gets a new Rank 5 toy and basically rips off what Yuya did with Odd-Eyes Rebellion (well, at least the TCG effects of the Creation/Destruction Magicians)Then again, he won.Looking at the flashback, Sayaka won but gives Little Fairy to Ruri. Guessing Shun slapped it out of her hand because he wants her to improve on her own.Go back to the survival duel; Sawatari falls off cliff but gets rescued.Crow and Sawatari have a duel with two of the Academia students, but then find out that another person is there due to the intrusion penalty warning. [spoiler=Thoughts on 119]A Rank 1 Deck, hurray! And it seems to be spam heavy, which is nice, since Rank 1 are fragile. Also, Fusion abilities, rare in Xyz focused Decks, so that's fun. Cross Xyz is a Summoning technique? So that means this will come back in other ways later hopefully, I want to see more Xyz Summons like this. It's time to see that damn creepy duelist already!
