Finally got around to watching the episode, and just like 105 I only watched it subbed.

- Can't remember if it was touched upon last turn, but Yuto informs Yuya that Demise Urban is OPT, helpful I guess

- Not gonna lie, but I feel that Counterattack Entermate should be a Counter Trap.

- Aster tugging on his duel anchor to try and prevent Yuya from getting Action Cards is a legit strategy, ofc Yuya was having none of that.

- Again Noro spent most of the episode worrying about his position, and even called in reinforcements to surround Yuya and Aster once the duel was over, what a dick

- Upon Aster's defeat he smiles again and in the preview helping Yuya deal with the Academia people. I suppose he's the newest member of the Egao club.

- Yuya saying that if he wants to speak to Academia, he has to use his Fusion monster is interesting. (Similar to him using a Synchro to speak to Jack in their duel)

- I have to agree with Yusho when he said "A duel where you only counterattack is dull" it's like saying duelling for the sake of revenge is not ideal.

[spoiler Entertainment]You know, I'm only just now realizing how absurd the concept of dueling for fun is in regards to the Fusion Dimension. I mean, for them, dueling is just as dangerous as, well, dueling (as in with a pistol or sword).

 

How'd you feel if you're a highly competent commander in an army and only ever perceived guns/blades as tools for conflict and then some random person comes to you spouting the "nonsense" that guns/blades are not only not supposed to be used for fighting, but they are actually supposed to be used for entertainment? And then that random person completely trumps you in skillfully using guns/blades? Then another person who preaches the same thing beats you also? It's... a really silly concept if you think it through.

Is anyone else getting weird premonitions regarding Leo and Yusho? Like, with how often they're dichotomized, I can't help but think they're not so different in some way that we've yet to see.

 

Yusho's monster can apparently Special Summon itself from . . . somewhere, probably the Graveyard . . . when Smile World is activated. Probably something like "if the ATK of a monster on the field changes, you can Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard." Explains why he uses it besides just the egao.

 

Grace is freaking adorable.

 

I like how Dag Daggerman tried to make friends with Dystopiaguy, and just got a cold shoulder.

Say hello to quite possibly the most broken card Yuya runs, and a reason why he runs Tokens he can Tribute and 2 different double Tribute monsters.

 

Scale Up + Pendulum Shift = Scale 12 Pendulum from Xiangke or Timegazer. Now we know how Yuya will maybe Pendulum Summon Nirvana High Paladin in the future.

 

Brave-Eyes' attack under Smile World is blue flame egao fireworks. That's cool, I guess.

I don't think Berserk Mode is made to be controlled as much as entirely avoided. At least going by the show's philosophy. That sheet almost destroyed the entire multiverse at the climax of the Synchro Arc, dude.

But I highly doubt Isao is from the Fusion Dimension; we saw him as a child being enrolled into Ryozanpaku, all depressed over being confined to the duel school until graduation. Sounds more like a normal child being dragged to a cruel fate than an Academia agent infiltrating Standard. It's more likely Ryozanpaku as a whole allied itself to/sprung from Academia or Isao came to them by himself than him being originally from the Fusion Dimension. UNLESS he was brought by his parents to Standard and forced to act as a spy there.

That theory Pchi would require the parents to know what was going on with the invasion. As shown when Yuzu was at the pier where students were being shipped off, no one believed her when she told them. So I doubt Kachidoki's parents would be in the know enough to send him in as a spy before the Arc Area Project was even a thing.

I knew those Ryuzonpaku sh*ts were shady. Violent Fusion-users that they are, I was suspicious ages ago they could be allied with Academia. Ofc we still have to see if the school as a whole is with them or just Isao.  Regardless, I'm happy to see him back; I like him as a character.

If I were to speculate about Kachidoki possibly being Academia aligned, my bet is that he wasn't ALWAYS Academia-aligned.

 

He was shown to have been enrolled at that school, and taught to prioritize winning over anything else. He lost the year previously, as the runner-up in the entire tournament. My bet is that he came into contact with an Academia agent at some point between this moment, and this year's championship, because he started to run Fusion this year, but it's confused a little by the realization that two other students in the same school used Fusions and targeted Yuya purely for cheap vengeance.

 

But Dennis helped STOP those two, so they probably weren't allies of Academia, or him.

 

But it's possible that after losing twice and suffering dishonor from his school, that Kachidoki went on to seek any potential method of gaining more power, of being able to win, of being able to fully utilize the darkness that he preached about to Yuya.

 

I think it's most likely he sought out Academia or was approached after his loss to Yuya. Because he was dishonored and PISSED about losing. Like, a terrible sport about it, smacking Yuya's hand away. That sort of anger and frustration makes it most likely he'd seek another way of fighting, or another source, because the hard work at his school hasn't been enough. He might even have been kicked out of the school in the aftermath of the tournament, being a twice-loser.
