Well, it seems about right for spinoffs if I remember (5Ds/ZEXAL also had 3 year runs; not too sure about GX, think that and DM were 4 because more episodes). Might be around 140/150 or so episodes, taking into consideration the usual holidays Japan has at times (which cut into airing times, or some unexpected stuff).

So in that time, ARC-V will need to get through the following.

  • Resolve the Academia problem / deal with Leo Akaba (the Professor).
  • Show Yuri with a powered up version of Starve Venom.
  • The ultimate final duel (and the denouement; probably a fight between Yuya and his dad)

Don't know if they will have another final arc after the academia, but probably not. As it stands, the Academia thing has been a thing for the whole series, so probably not going to add on anything else.

They also have to get through the manga series.

As it gets closer to the end, I will assume that we'll either get news on a future series or they end the series at that point.

Even with the consideration that final bosses usually have stupid as hell combos and generally suck at the game (with some exceptions), I find that situation to be VERY unlikely, especially with the destroying of cards thing. We don't know how cold Leo truly is at this time, but I doubt he'll stoop that low. That in mind, in those conditions, Yuya's doomed to fail unless he pulls off a deus ex machina moment and some extremely situational / BS combo (even if Leo plays heavy LP increase cards or whatever methods).

I'll leave the links here for when they show up in 3 hours (or later, depending if the uploaders are late again)

Well, here's the thing for the way this will end- I have an intriguing theory with two arcs under our belt.

[spoiler= Theorycrafting time]

First off, I want to drag us all back to Standard, and go over the last few Duels Yuya had there. These being his triple-kill against Obelisk Force, the unfinished awkwardness with Sora, and the stomping versus Reiji.

These parallel moments in 5Ds, ZeXal, and GX respectively, now that I think about it- "One Turn Three Kill", quite a few of Yuma's excursions that didn't have him going Utopia and pulling a win from nowhere, and Jaden's first Duel against Aster.

Why do I bring this up?

That's the order Yuya will hop, and there's something else.

Yuya's first Duel in Synchro was versus Security, and his last was versus Jack. Just like Yusei. Huh.

Yuya's Duels in Xyz were three mooks, then Kaito . . . Replace one of those mooks with Shark, and that's Yuma's starting Dueling record. Hmm. Since he can't go head-to-head with Astral or Don Thousand, this would seem to inconvenience this thought, until you consider something.

Dennis is coming back.

Astral used a Deck highly similar to Yuya's in both incarnations of ZeXal, so it would only make sense for Yuya's last Duel in Xyz to be against Dennis.

If this pattern holds true, the first Duel in Fusion will be against an Ancient Gear user, which is stupidly friggin' likely, and his last would have to be against . . . Yugi.

Now, I'm not saying Leo = Yugi. I'm saying he'll use a similar Deck. Heavy hitters, deceptively weak monsters, no rhyme or reason to what he uses except that it works.

And then, a return to Standard for his final struggle. Now, as much as I want to theorycraft that it'll be against Yusho, or Yuto, or any possible character, I do have one theory that will make sense to people who have watched the whole way through:

Yuya will use the 'gazer Magicians, Hip Hippo, and possibly vanilla Odd-Eyes, in his final Duel. Every other final Duel in this series has involved one or more cards from the first Duel in the series (or, in DM's case, scattered around every arc in the series) returning. It would only be fitting for him to end it with what he had to start it.

If they intend to end the series here, however, they might have Yuya end the last Duel in the series with Exodia, but . . . I doubt it. I really do.

[spoiler=Script 109]

Last Time’s Egao Count: 168

Allen: As he faced the Tyler sisters, who annihilated the Spade Branch,
Shun’s flames of rage furiously burned.

Sayaka: However, his tag partner, Yuya, despite fighting such opponents…

Allen: Honestly speaking, I thought it was pretty amazing.
The first time we saw that kind of Duel…

Sayaka: …Was when Yuya’s father showed it to us when our city was still peaceful.

Narrator: The Arc Area Project.
In order to carry out their plan to create a utopia,
The Academia of the Fusion Dimension
Has pushed Heartland in the Xyz Dimension to the brink of destruction.

(Opening Sequence)

Yuya: Are you all right? Allen. Sayaka.

Allen: I-I’ll acknowledge your Entertainment Dueling, but…
As for whether I’ll acknowledge you as a comrade or not…

Captain Falcon: Just be honest about it, Allen.
Deep down, you’ve already acknowledged and accepted…
That Sakaki Yuya is our comrade.

Allen: W-well, I mean, I…

Yuya: Allen.

(Awkward silence)

Allen: Sure.

Sayaka: Shun…

Yuya: We’re all comrades now!

(Relaxing music before sheet happens in 3…2…1)

Yellow OF: Are you done saying your goodbyes?

Lancers: EH!!?

Red OF: Then, I’m sure you no longer have any regrets.

Green OF: You shall all be turned into cards…!

Yellow OF: We, the Obelisk Force, shall do the honor!

Allen: There’s three of you, and six of us!
If you want to pick a fight, you got one!

Captain Falcon: They’re not someone you can take on.
Stay back.

GONGENZAKA: We’ll fight as well!

SAWATARI-SAN: Let’s do this!

Yuya: You’re all wounded. Don’t push yourself.

Yuya: Kurosaki and I will fight.

Yellow OF: Just the two of you?

Captain Falcon: The two of us will be enough for you three!

Red OF: Hmph…getting conceited, aren’t you?

Green OF: We don’t care how many people you have.
We’ll annihilate all of the Lancers!

Gloria: You didn’t request just us, but the Obelisk Force as well?

Grace: You sure like to plan things ahead, huh, Noroma-chan?

Noro: My name is Noro Mamoru! Not Noroma!
Besides, I didn’t request the Obelisk Force.

Noro: Perhaps the Professor just wants to have some backup plan…

Gloria: In case if we lose!?

Grace: Well, we actually lost.

Gloria: Hold on, Grace!
You don’t find any of this frustrating!?

Grace: Well, I’m frustrated.
But we had fun with the Duel, so who cares?
More importantly, I’m curious about what kind of Entertainment Duel that Yuya kid will show against the Obelisk Force.
Ehehe. I’m looking forward to this.

Captain Falcon: I don’t think your Entertainment Dueling is going to get through to these guys.

Yuya: Even so, I will stick to the Dueling I believe in!
The Dueling that my Dad used!

Captain Falcon: Then, do what you want to do.
I’ll Duel in my own way, as well.

Duel Disk: Field Magic. Cross Over.

DUEL!

Yellow OF: I’ll go first.
From my hand, I activate the Magic Card, Polymerization,
And fuse the two Antique Gear Hound Dogs in my hand together!
Mechanical hunting dogs that have inherited the ancient spirit!
Flock together, and combine.
Be reborn with new power!
Fusion Summon!
Come forth! Level-5! Antique Gear Double Bite Hound Dog!
I’ll end my turn here.

Captain Falcon: It’s my turn!
I summon Raidraptor – Vanishing Lanius from my hand!
When this card is successfully Normal Summoned or Special Summoned,
I can Special Summon another Vanishing Lanius from my hand!
Then, through the effect of my second monster,
I can Special Summon a third one.
I overlay the three Level-4 Vanishing Laniuses together!
Xyz Summon!
Come forth!
Rank-4! Raidraptor – Rise Falcon!

Yellow OF: At this moment, Antique Gear Double Bite Hound Dog’s effect is activated!
Once per turn, I can place a Gear Acid Counter on a monster that has been Normal or Special Summoned to my opponent’s Field.

Captain Falcon: I detach one of Rise Falcon’s Overlay Units,
And activate its effect!
It can add Double Bite Hound Dog’s 1400 ATK to its ATK!
Battle! Rise Falcon!

Yellow OF: Due to Double Bite Hound Dog’s effect,
A monster with a Gear Acid Counter will be destroyed without performing damage calculation!

Captain Falcon: Quick-Play Magic, Rank-Up-Magic Raptor's Force!
I Special Summon the Rise Falcon that was destroyed from the Graveyard.
Then, using it as a material, I can Xyz Summon a monster that is one Rank higher!
Rank Up, Xyz Change!
Come forth!
Rank-5! Raidraptor – Blaze Falcon!

Captain Falcon: Blaze Falcon can attack the opposing player directly!
Go!

Yellow OF: AAAh!

Captain Falcon: At this moment, Blaze Falcon’s effect activates!
When it inflicts battle damage to an opposing player,
It can destroy one opposing monster!

Captain Falcon: I set one card facedown, and end my turn.

Allen: That’s Shun for you!
He predicted all of his enemy’s moves!

GONGENZAKA: Yeah! His fighting style is praiseworthy.

SAWATARI-SAN: Even the Obelisk Force won’t stand a chance.

Noro: This is odd.
According to my calculations,
Those two should have been defeated within five minutes.

Gloria: Perhaps this is where we have to jump in and once again…

Grace: There’s no need for rushing.
The Obelisk Force won’t go down so easily.

Gloria: T-that’s true, but…

Grace: Let’s just watch them, for now.

Grace: Well then, show me.
Let me see the best show once again!

Red OF: It’s my turn!
From my hand, I activate the Magic Card, Polymerization!
I fuse the three Antique Gear Hound Dogs in my hand together!
Fusion Summon!
Come forth! Level-7! Antique Gear Triple Bite Hound Dog!

Red OF: Then, from my hand, I activate the Magic Card, Antique Gear Double Imitate!
This card allows me to select up to two Antique Gear monsters in the Graveyard,
And Special Summon them with their monster effects negated!
The ones that I’m reviving are…

Yellow OF: The Antique Gear Double Bite Hound Dog and the Antique Gear Hound Dog from my Graveyard!

Red OF: Using these three monsters, I attack you directly!

Captain Falcon: Yuya!?

Sayaka: They’re targeting Yuya even though his turn hasn’t even begun yet…

Allen: That’s cheating!

SAWATARI-SAN: Not to mention that their combined ATK is 4200!

GONGENZAKA: Since Yuya has no monsters, the only way he can defend himself is…

Red OF: Antique Gear Hound Dog will go first!
Do it!

GONGENZAKA: Y-Yuya!

Yuya: I’m right here!

Captain Falcon: Yuya!

Yuya: I used the Action Magic, Great Escape.
Through its effect, I can force the battle to end.

Allen & Sayaka: Great Escape…

SAWATARI-SAN: That’s the Action Card he used against me in our Grand Entertainment Battle!

Grace: Look!
As I thought,
Yuya is pretty captivating.

Gloria: Is this really the time to be enjoying this!?

Noro: AAAH!
I thought that one of them was going to be done in for sure,
But my calculation was wrong again!

Red OF: I end my turn with this.

Yuto: Yuya. Even if your opponent is the Obelisk Force,
I’m sure you can communicate with their hearts through Dueling.

Yuya: Yuto…

Yuto: I’ll watch over you as you fight.

Yuya: All right, I’m going to show you…
My best Entertainment Duel!
It’s my turn!
Using the Scale-1 Stargazer Magician and the Scale-8 Timegazer Magician,
I set the Pendulum Scale!
With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Level-2 to 7!
Swing, Pendulum of Souls!
Draw an arc of light across the ether!
Pendulum Summon!
Come forth, my monsters!
First off, Entermate Friendonkey!
Next up, Entermate Silver Claw!
And the last one to make its entrance is…
The one who bears heroic and beautiful dual-colored eyes!
Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!

Yuya: The fun has just begun!

{ZETSUBOU Commercial. Brb}

Yuya: The fun has just begun!

Grace: Come on, show me the best Duel among all.

Yuya: It’s a bit early, but why don’t I pay you back for earlier?
I attack Antique Gear Triple Bite Hound Dog with Entermate Silver Claw!

Yuya: At this moment, due to Silver Claw’s effect,
All Entermate monsters will gain 300 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase!

Yuya: Next up, I attack Antique Gear Hound Dog with Entermate Friendonkey!

Yuya: Lastly, I attack Antique Gear Double Bite Hound Dog with Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!
Spiral Strike Burst!

Yuya: Odd-Eyes’s effect!
When it battles against a Level-5 or above monster,
The battle damage will be doubled!
Reaction Force!

Red OF: AAAAHHH!

SAWATARI-SAN: All right!

Allen: It’s settled!

GONGENZAKA: Summoning three monsters through Pendulum,
And then destroying all monsters on the opposing Field through consecutive attacks…
Yeah. It’s flawless.

Sayaka: Yuya…

Yuya: I shall end my turn with this.

Grace: Huh? That’s all?

Green OF: I was wondering what kind of Duel the Lancers would conduct,
Since the Tyler sisters, and even we, the Obelisk Force, were sent to deal with them, but…
I never thought that you’d be so naïve!

Yuya: Naïve?

Green OF: That’s right! You’re too naïve!
If you had used your three summoned monsters to attack me directly, you would have been able to reduce our manpower by one!

Yuya: If I did that, it’d be the same thing that guy tried to do.

Yuya: I don’t want to settle this so easily.
I want us to talk to each other through Dueling!

Green OF: Talk to each other?

Yuya: Yeah!
Through Dueling, you can open up people’s hearts and talk with them!
That applies to you guys, too!

Green OF: Our missions is to exterminate the Lancers!
We don’t have time to casually chat with you!

Noro: Exactly.
It’s already 5 minutes and 32 seconds past my predicted time.
We can’t waste even one second.

Yuya: All right, it’s your turn!

Green OF: You don’t have to tell me!
I summon Antique Gear Hound Dog from my hand!
When there is a monster on my opponent’s Field,
This card can inflict 600 damage once per turn!
Hound Flame!

Captain Falcon: Counter Trap! Raidraptor – Silent Roar, activate!
When there is a Raidraptor on my Field,
I can negate effect damage inflicted by the opponent!

Yuya: Thanks, Kurosaki!

Captain Falcon: Uh-huh.

Green OF: Then, I activate the Magic Card, Antique Gear Scrap Fusion!
I select Antique Gear monsters in the Graveyard,
And using them as materials, I can Fusion Summon a monster with its effect negated!
The monsters I select are…

Red OF: The Antique Gear Triple Bite Hound Dog in my Graveyard.

Yellow OF: And the Antique Gear Hound Dog in my Graveyard!

Green OF: Using these two monsters, I Fusion Summon!
Come forth! Level-9!
Antique Gear Ultimate Hound Dog!

Green OF: Furthermore, from my hand, I activate the Magic Card, Antique Gear Double Imitate!

Yellow OF: I have Antique Gear Double Bite Hound Dog in my Graveyard!

Red OF: And I have Antique Gear Triple Bite Hound Dog in my Graveyard!

Green OF: I can Special Summon them with their monster effects negated!
Then, I activate the effect of Antique Gear Hound Dog.
When there are Antique Gear monsters on my Field,
I can Fusion Summon without a Fusion card.
Mechanical hunting dogs that have inherited the ancient spirits!
Merge your ten heads together, and let a tremendous power be born from that mass of chaos!
Fusion Summon!
Come forth! Level-10!
The ultimate god of destruction who shall return everything in this world to formless chaos!
Antique Gear Chaos Giant!

GONGENZAKA: I-It’s huge! It’s way too huge!

Sayaka: NO!

Captain Falcon: Sayaka!

Allen: Shun!

Gloria: Are they trying to get us killed by bringing that thing out!?

Yellow OF: Hahaha…

Yuto: Shun!

Allen: Shun! Sayaka!

Captain Falcon: Thank God, you’re safe.

Sayaka: Shun…

(Shun dies)

Yuya-to: Shun!

Sayaka: Shun! Shun!

Yuya: This can’t be happening…

Green OF: Battle!

Green OF: I attack Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon with Antique Gear Chaos Giant!

Yuya: AAAHH!

Green OF: During the Battle Phase, Antique Gear Chaos Giant can attack all monsters on my opponent’s Field!
I’ll attack Silver Claw next!

Yuya: I send Entermate Barrier Balloon Baku from my hand to the Graveyard!
The battle damage in this battle becomes zero!

Yellow OF: You’re not out of the woods yet.

Red OF: Your remaining Life is 2000.
If the 4500 ATK Chaos Giant destroys the 1600 ATK Friendonkey …

Green OF: It’s all over for you!
Do it! Antique Gear Chaos Giant!
Attack Entermate Friendonkey!

Kaito: I activate the Action Magic, Quick Guard!
It’ll switch Friendonkey to defense position!
Friendonkey might be destroyed,
But there won’t be any damage.

Duel Disk: Intrusion Penalty, 2000 points.

Yuya: Kaito!

Gloria: So he’s Kaito, the one who has a bounty on his head?

Noro: Did he join forces with the Lancers?

Green OF: You meddling little…
I’ll end my turn with this!

Kaito: Leave this to me!
It’s my turn!
I summon Cipher Wing!

Yuya: You came to help us, Kaito!?

Kaito: You should be worrying about your comrades.

Kaito: When Cipher Wing is on my Field,
I can Special Summon another Cipher Wing from my hand.
I release one Cipher Wing,
And increase the Levels of the remaining two by four!
Then, I overlay the two Level-8 Cipher Wings together!

Kaito: Galaxy shining in the darkness,
Reside in the fierce god of vengeance,
And become my servant!
Xyz Summon!
Descend! Rank-8!
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!

Kaito: I detach one of Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon’s Overlay Units, and activate its effect!
Cipher Projection!
Until the End Phase, I can take control of Antique Gear Chaos Giant,
And treat it as another Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!

Obelisk Force: Ah! Chaos Giant is…!

Kaito: Then, from my hand, I activate the Continuous Magic,
Cipher Interfere, and Cipher Diffusion!
Cipher Diffusion can reduce the ATK of a Cipher monster with 3000 or more ATK on my field to zero, and allow another Cipher monster to attack three times!
I reduce the ATK of the second Cipher Dragon to zero,
And attack directly with the first Cipher Dragon!

Green OF: But even if you defeat the two of them,
My Life is still 4000!
With a 3000 ATK monster…

Kaito: Due to the Continuous Magic, Cipher Interfere,
If there are two or more Cipher monsters with the same name on my Field,
The ATK of one of them will be doubled during the battle!

Green OF: Doubled!?
6000!?

Kaito: Are you ready for your repentance?

Kaito: Go! Battle!
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!
Attack the three members of the Obelisk Force directly!
Cipher Stream of Annihilation!

Obelisk Force: AAAHHHH!

Noro: W-wait!

Gloria: Looks like it’s our turn once again.

Grace: Kaito seems pretty fun and all,
But we got to have our revenge against Yuya first.

Noro: W-What is going on!?

Edo: I won’t tolerate interference from anyone!

Edo: I will personally send the son of Sakaki Yusho to his doom!

(Preview for Episode 110)

Edo: Sakaki Yuya! Let’s settle this once and for all!

Yuya: What can I do to understand Edo through Dueling…?

Edo: I will defeat you no matter what!
And I will prove that Sakaki Yusho’s Dueling is wrong!

Yuto: He thinks that their way of Dueling is correct!

Yuya: Their way of Dueling…
I see!

Yuya: Next time on Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V:
The Torn “Smile World” (Egao Count: 168+1=169)
The fun has just begun!

Thank DMC3444 for the script

I temporarily forgot about it since it has been a while since that happened (and mind slipped onto other things), but that part will need to be resolved before the series ends. (Keep in mind that I haven't read Draconus's post so I've no idea what his theory came up to be)

In any case though, I'll post episode thoughts later after I watch it (can't do it at this time for reasons).

[spoiler=Thoughts on 109 RAW]

- Trust the OF to ruin the touching scene at the beginning

- Forgot how shifty Friendonkey looked

- Not surprised Sayaka runs off at the sight of Chaos Giant, though she gets herself into a bit of trouble until she is saved by Shun who gets injured in the process

- Kaito coming in was a surprise, at least he defeated the OF

- Kaito considered cardifying the OF, but didn't in the end.

Preview:

- So Aster uses one those chain thingies to lock Yuya into a duel with him.

Ahhh... the water is calm... The breeze is nice and cool... Perfect for sailing. And the ship, she is beautiful.... We're setting off!! All aboard the S.S. GracexYuya!!

[spoiler=But seriously]I love how Grace is already converting into a fan of the Egao Style dueling. Also here it almost seems like she's the big sister instead of Gloria.

I also love the Shun and Sayaka interaction here, since she blames herself for letting Ruri get captured. Shun doesn't need words; it's subtle and sweet.

Kaito saved Yuya so hopefully he'll become less of a prick. Since Shun might be down for awhile.

[spoiler=Episode thoughts]

These Obelisk Force members seem significantly more competent than literally ALL the other Obelisk Force members. Not only that, but the Professor only sent these three, whereas the task force to Standard and Synchro were significantly larger. I'm going to assume this is a Conservation of Ninjitsu thing (the more numerous a force, the weaker they are individually and vice versa). The irony being that the Professor is explicitly sending the Force to fight the Lancers, whereas Standard and Synchro were not combative missions.

And it's interesting that the Tyler sisters also recognized the implied insult of the Professor sending a couple Obelisk Force members after sending them, as if he knew they'd lose.

And I figured that the Obelisk Force would run cards to support Chaos Giant. After all, Dennis using Antique Gear Chaos Fusion made me note how the Obelisk Force strategies revolve around the various Hound Dog Fusions, so Chaos Fusion would be a logical card to run. Even better is they run cards that actually would synergize with their constant fusing and resurrection cards, like the Scrap Fusion and the revival Spell.

Furthermore, they're less sadistic here, and much more pragmatic, like attacking Yuya before his turn started, and criticizing him for NOT DOING THE SAME THING TO THEM. Seriously, they criticized him for not trying to wipe out their manpower. That's amusingly pragmatic, and yet appropriate for the situation.

Shun getting injured seemed kind of odd. Like, he got hit by debris, I assume, yet stood strong for like a minute before passing out. Sayaka's reaction to the Chaos Giant makes sense. It's an extremely traumatizing beast for the Xyz Dimension.

According to the script, Noro complains that he predicted the Obelisk Force would win within five minutes. He complains about this during Shun's turn, who went SECOND. This is the dumbest, most illogical complaint he could have made. When exactly did he start the "timer" for this prediction? The moment the Obelisk Force appeared? Because it has NOT been five minutes since the Duel started. What was he expecting? An FTK? For Shun and Yuya to play only 1 card and pass? For the Duelists who beat the Tyler sisters to be absolute scummy pushovers?

Kaito appearing to save Yuya came to me as a complete shock. It actually makes sense - the Obelisk Force had just Summoned Chaos Giant a minute or two ago, and the thing is MASSIVE. Kaito would undoubtedly have made a beeline here, and even though Kaito acted like a prick up til now, he definitely would not have just stood around and watched Yuya lose, and it's unclear when he arrived, and whether he saw Shun get injured first.

The fact Kaito didn't card the Obelisk Force was...actually kind of interesting to me. I'm not even really sure why he wouldn't do that, other than Yuya and Shun having at least a small impact on him. Then again, future episode previews indicate that there's a way to "really" end the war, which I assume is partially going to be about not turning people into cards. I expect the Obelisk Force members (again, the most competent and least sadistic ones we've ever seen, holy hell) were totally blown away by being spared. And Grace and Gloria are already second-guessing their Dueling methods.

Huh...Aster/Edo's going to use a Duel Anchor on Yuya? That's...fascinating as all hell, actually.

[spoiler=109 thoughts]

  • The episode title was literal this time...Shun basically got hurt from trying to save Sayaka from falling building.
    • Well Sayaka, if you hadn't run into the falling debris out of fear (and risking your own safety), Shun wouldn't have needed to save your ass and he wouldn't be unconscious right now. Yeah, you have bad memories of Chaos Giant destroying stuff in Xyz, but does your brain even register the sight of falling objects that can severely injure/kill you? (I'll assume that her fear of Chaos Giant overrode that sort of logic)
  • Guess Allen finally accepts Yuya as a comrade.
  • In theory, the Obelisk Force member was correct (as far as technical advantage goes).
    • Had Yuya attacked the guy with no monsters, it would've made it a 2-on-2 match and likely wouldn't have resulted in them being able to summon Chaos Giant (I believe that was the guy who played the cards to enable Giant and stuff). Conversely, they tried to get rid of Yuya first; had they succeeded (Yuya being unable to grab Action Card), it would be a 3 on 1 match (Shun vs all of the OF)
      • If I had to fight in these conditions, I probably would've taken out the OF member otherwise; the less opponents you have to deal with, the better.
      • Yes, it's dirty to go after the opponents who haven't gotten a turn yet, but sometimes one has to do what needs to be done. (Not like Zero-Turn Kills haven't already been established in the franchise already; technically, it would be considered as one.)
  • Come to think of it, Shun was right. Obelisk Force wasn't phased by Yuya's attempts at Entertainment Duels and even told him off for it. I am aware that Jack did tell him to communicate words through dueling, but like Shun mentioned, this isn't an opponent who will have the same ideas as you.
  • Surprisingly Kaito intervened and triple OTK'd them (and saved Yuya in the process), but yeah Diffusion/Projection + Cipher Dragon = OTK. He didn't card them this time, like he said he'd do to the Academia.
  • Can only hope Kaito softens up a bit later on.
  • Aster/Edo comes around and says he'll deal with Yuya.
  • These OF members are actually better than the others, but their Decks are still based on situational combos that wouldn't work nowadays. At least they made Chaos Giant.

[spoiler=How does this game even work?]Why were they even allowed to attack duelists who hadn't had a turn yet? They go on and on everytime that "none of us can attack on the first turn" every single time, and don't tell me it's tag rules, because Kaito interfered (subtle pun) by himself, and took the 2000 point Royale penalty.

They were cheating

Admittedly, this was a pretty unusual circumstance. It definitely wasn't a Tag Duel, because Yuya/Shun weren't sharing Fields.

Do note that this isn't the first time that such a thing has happened. When Berserk Yuya fought the Obelisk Force by himself back in Standard, the turn order went Obelisk Force 1, OF 2, OF 3, Yuya, OF1...etc. While Obelisk Force 1 in Standard didn't attack, OF 2 and 3 DID, before Yuya had even been allowed a turn.

So in Battle Royales, there isn't always a rule about all players not being able to attack on the first turn. It seems to be one of those rules that is completely optional, and needs to be declared ahead of time or something.

But it was noted in-universe that attacking Yuya when he hadn't had a turn yet was a cheap tactic bordering on cheating.

Technically they tried the same thing when the OF went up against Tsukikage/Serena/Shun/Michio/every duelist and his mother at the end of the battle royale, but Tsukikage kept paying Life Points to stop them from doing exactly that and wiping out his allies before they could move.

[spoiler=112 Spoiler]2f66902c.jpg

Dennis and Yusho are confirmed to have been Student and Teacher.

Yusho's trap is called Miracle Silk Hat

Also, thanks to DMC3444 From NAC:

-Dennis showed up to capture Yuzu, leading to a confrontation between him and Yusho.
-Yuya and his friends use a teleportation device in the Fusion base in the Xyz Dimension to get to the Fusion Dimension.

Get rid of Yuzu's bracelet and he (and Yugo) can't be forced to disappear to who knows where.

[spoiler=112 stuff]

  • Alright then, so Yusho/Dennis had a teacher/student relationship; suppose it's not a surprise given Dennis's admiration for him.
  • New Trap card is okay, but nothing special.
  • Yuya's going to the Fusion Dimension? Well, using the Fusion base is the only way they can do it (if they had Sora around, he could've warped them there with his disc.)
  • Makes sense that Dennis is capturing Yuzu. Unlike Yuri, he's not going to be teleported away.

Yuzu hasn't dueled for a while though.

[spoiler=109 thoughts]

ok. i understand that shun prefers to go all out, but seriously? why does he never use force strix? it would have served the exact same purpose as rise falcon, and provided more walls for him to guard himself with. summon 3x lanius, drop strix, search singing or fuzzy, drop a second strix, search whichever one he didn't search the last time, and he'd have 1500 on two monsters, after that, swing with the one that has an acid counter, pull the same rank up play, swing direct, nuke the monster, and hit for 1500 again. it's nitpicking at best considering he got monarch'd while saving the annoying one, but really, it sucks seeing them job shun in the most useless of ways.

on another note, the previews sound interesting. and the Amazoness girls are two of my new favorite duelists in the series, right behind shun, serena, and yugo. they have almost the exact same personalities (combined) as the woman from GX and i love it. if only their duel had involved as much spiritual punching, it would have been a perfect callback..

FINALLY got around to watching le subs

[spoiler=Thoughts on 109 Subbed]

- I suppose Allen accepts Yuya as a comrade now.

- I like how the Professor assumed that the Tyler Sisters weren't going to be enough to dispose of the Lancers and sent in the OF to deal with them too. (and these OF members are more competent than the previous ones) Though the OF wondered what kind of duelling the Lancers would use, and criticised Yuya when Yuya's turn ended (considering what the OF tried doing to Yuya the previous turn). And they do have a point from an advantage standpoint, Yuya should've attacked the OF guy with no monsters, meaning they probs wouldn't have gotten out Chaos Giant, or at the very least would've taken them longer to get it out.

- On the subject of Chaos Giant, while it is true that it's traumatising for those in the Xyz Dimension and the fear would likely override any sense of logic, but I do think that if Sayaka didn't run off, then she wouldn't have been in danger and Shun wouldn't have needed to save her from the debris that was sure to fall and end up unconscious.

- Noroma is Naïve, thinking the OF would eliminate Shun/Yuya in 5 mminutes, honestly did he think they were pushovers or something, not to mention when he said that it hadn't been 5 minutes.

- Can't remember how long it has been since the Action Card Yuya used to end the Battle Phase was last seen after Sawatari pointed out that it was used in their duel back in the Maiami Championships.

Serena used it against Yugo in the Friendship Cup, she used it to keep her Cat Dancer safe from Puzzle.
