[spoiler=Chapter 8 stuff]

Wow Reiji, you really are a scumbag now (if Sora doesn't win, he'll kill his sister).

But yeah, Yuri vs Sora (which we were denied access to watching due to Yuzu's interference; well, likely after Yugo was dealt with). Oh wait, even Yuri doesn't give a damn about if Sora and his sister die. I guess this is their way of making it up to us and showing what Yuri would've played.

Oh right, Fluffal Bear has 0 ATK (but it's 1200 IRL and anime); I don't know if they made an error with the stats or that's intentional.

[spoiler=Response]

Could be that Sora's exaggerating the "he'll kill my sister" part and it's not literal, but yeah too early to figure out if there really is any consequence for Sora if he loses.

Yeah, the renames suck. (If they called it Patchwork Bear or something in English, then it wouldn't be confusing). I figured something was off, since we know original Bear has 1200 and was Level 3; this one is 0 / L1. That, and it looks nothing like the Fluffal Bear that Sora has in the anime.

so who thinks yuya and jack are gonna have a draw?

For plot rise, I think Yuuya will win, but in terms of hoping, I wouldn't mind a draw because then it shows the rivalry is still there

Btw Nirvana High Palidan didn't really have an epic moment on screen. Tyrant had the better moment I think

I would be fine with them getting a draw, but due to plot reasons, Yuya will probably win.

But yeah, Nirvana didn't get much of a moment to shine, not even killing RDA in combat (only the damage). Even OERD had more epic moments on its debut (and actually triple OTK'd people).

[spoiler=Chapter 8]

Dat plot twist with Sora's sister.

But Sora totally gave away the ruse with his last panel. "But... um... my sick little sister..."

I am now 95% sure he is faking.

And Yuri's just being totally awesome that last page. Yuya's reaction is hilarious.

When Yuya switches personalities, does his deck change? If so, that's seriously cheating. And no one will ever be able to deck him out.

Several reasons why Sora's faking. His attitude abruptly changes. During his previous interaction with Reiji, he never brought up a sister. The picture flutters down at the exact right moment. And the look on his face during the last panel seems a lot more like a 'oh no my plan isn't working' look than a 'I need to save my sister' look.

But since the picture exists, it looks like he actually has a sister.

I would've commented on this earlier, but the recent weather here decided to screw my net.

[spoiler=97 sub]

  • Yeah, appears that Yuya finally understands what Jack told him from the start (enough that even he's impressed with him now). That in mind though, he isn't going to forget about his father's dueling (but tries to not be a carbon copy of him).
    • As for mastering Synchro, he only got that far because of Tuning Magician. Can only wonder if Yuya will actually return it to Jack in the end, or he gets to keep it.
  • Arrest Corps are indeed human, but just brainwashed under JMR (can only wonder what happened to them afterwards). Also, Duel Chasers aren't capable of handling large crowds on their own apparently.
    • Watching JMR cringe afterwards is amusing.
  • Audience getting wowed by 5 monster P-Summoning (that's not really much of a surprise for us nowadays; least by our standards); again though, Double Tuning was still awesome.

[spoiler=98 preview thoughts]

  • Jack is actually laughing during Smile World; okay...suppose he's finally enjoying his duel with Yuya in contrast to the beginning after Yuya made that wisecrack.
  • Suppose that Yuya's message actually got through to Shinji and co, and they aren't causing riots (at least for now).

[spoiler=97]

Did not expect to see the Crimson Dragon again, holy scheisse. Also, the red shape around Jack's D-Wheel/Duel Runner is reminiscent of the one that formed around Yusei's before he Summoned Shooting Quasar.

I can't help but find it hilarious to see serious Xiangke/Destruction Magician used side-by-side with Rubber Mutton of all things for Scales.

Acrobat Magician's "counterpart" is Nirvana High Paladin- their faces resemble two more people Yuya cares for, Dennis and his father. So, every Magician pair has a tie-in to people important to him, which means we'll hopefully be seeing a Magician pair composed entirely of Lancers- Sora and Kurosaki being the faces would just add icing to the cake.

[spoiler Response]I actually thought N.H. (New Hope) Paladin was supposed to be Yuya himself.

I agree. About Acrobat, I think it is Paladin's counterpart due to Acrobat representing Dennis, who wad living a lie, while Paladin represents Yuya, who has just a breakthrough in being himself.

Considering Performages are circus actors (and acrobats certainly count as such, despite the majority of Em being clowns and stuff), if Acrobat were one of them instead of a Magician, he'd fit in without too many issues (well, barring the Level and other factors).

I don't see anything related to Dennis in its face though, either.

To be fair, neither do I.

[spoiler=Thoughts on 97 subbed]

- Ofc the Arrest Corps are humans brainwashed by JMR, expected nothing less tbph

- When the alarms went off, Yuzu assumed it was rioting commons,but was relieved when it was only Tsukikage and Sora

- After Jack said "If only Pendulums served as a way to surpass yourself" Yuya realised (remembering what Shuzo told him back in episode 14) that since he was the first to Pendulum Summon, that wasn't something he had borrowed, thus he could use that as a way to convey his own duelling/will to Jack, which impressed him as he's speaking his own words. Having said that, he's not going to forget about his father's duelling, but understands that he shouldn't be a carbon copy of him.

- So Jack specifically mentioned the Crimson Dragon when he summoned Tyrant, heh. As soon as he summoned that, Tokomatsu noted (in response to Sam) that Jack hadn't found an opponent like Yuya who could push him higher as a duelist.

So that basically means we won't get the new opening/ending till episode 101 on April 10th then.

i think we'll get the them since the its unlikely that they'll merge the 2 episodes so that they'll be an hour long, most likely they'll just air the 2 episodes separately

At this point we won't know what'll happen until next week, but it's not like 2 episodes of YGO have been merged before. Case in point; episodes 153/154 of 5Ds.

[spoiler=98]

-As expected, yuya's duel only 1 episodes long, though seeing yuya's entertainment duel finally succeed to unite city is pretty awesome

-So Roget use Ancient Gear....kind of disappointing that its not a new archetype, guess academia only allow high ranking people to use non AG deck

-Ancient Gear Devil is kind of crazy, unaffected by card effect and can burn up to 7k (including pendulum and field), and the material seems to be generic

-Roget saying the "The Fun has just Begun!" is unexpected and quite creepy
