Same direction as 5D's, more female presence if you want that, a protag who can lose, and music that blows the REST OF THE DAMNED SERIES out of the water.

Arc-V is, put bluntly, as good as Yu-Gi-Oh has ever been. It's like the beautiful lovechild of GX and 5D's, that was secretly injected with whatever drugs DM was on.

[spoiler=]● Yuzu you f***: You do not realize you're useless at this point in the plot and they are all trying to protect you from being captured, yet you think you can do something to save Yuya. And while you "did", you threw Yuya to the ceiling with no apparent physical injury, oh and you also got Sergey on your ass and rocket-powered boots.

● Starve Venom as C107's bro confirmed: I can't believe it's been almost 50 episodes (if not more) and we still don't know jackbatshit about this dragon yet.

● You guys are forgetting that Reira defeated like 80% of Obelisk Force, and I'm more interested on his flashbacks coming back on his mind.

● I loved it when Sergey wrecked the s*** out of everyone trying to defend Yuzu (you had it coming, perra)

and the damsel in distress

[spoiler=] Let's face it: Yuzu has done little to nothing in regard of having anyone safe. If she's around, danger's around. She has to be saved, she needs to be saved. I don't know from what.

Serena realizes the danger that is Academia, while Yuzu not because penis fever (Yuuuuyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa).

Kaito and Asuka

[spoiler=] I'm curious as to what role will Asuka have. I mean it can be either the one from Zexal or the one from GX. But I'm betting all that she's the GX one, and probably some high-tier soldier from Academia or someone who betrayed the professor (much like Sora did).

Took the subs long enough to materialise

[spoiler=Thoughts on 92 Subbed]

- As soon as Yuri summoned SVFD, the male YUs synchronise and are seen chanting "We become one" and we know that the Synchronisation processed was accelerated.

- When Yuzu entered the battlefield, Barrett saw no need to continue the duel, but with the resolve Yuya was showing at that point, Barrett saw Yuya as an honourable warrior, and he certainly didn't like it when Sergey interrupted the duel either.

...

- And ofc, since Banana buggered off to who knows where, Melissa said in teh preview that he was DQ'd and Jack is duelling Sergey instead.

I thought the Arc V dub was quite good watching a few episodes and clips. Then I heard dub Sora and I can never go to it again. Just utterly shitting on his character.

They ruined Shun vs Sora in the dub.

Stopped watching it at that point. Now i'm only really going to watch the Shun duels because.... he's like one of the only good actors in dubbed arc v next to reiji and Nakajima.

For those who've not seen it. It's just saddening that they kept him with the same childish voice through this. Rekt the scene completely.

Watching it again now and it's so odd and unfitting that they leave the increasingly deranged facial expressions but keep him talking in more or less his regular voice.

Nakajima...?

*looks him up*

Wow. THat clip was incredibly lame. Shun's voice actor is the best thing about the dub though, that's pretty apparent. His Twitter is bloody gold btw, especially that time he saw a rather familiar scarf...

I rest my case.

That abridged is damn good.

One of my favorite scenes got butchered THAT badly by the dub? (Although I admit Sora vs Shun's rematch is one of the dumbest Duels fought, simply because to this day, I haven't the slightest idea how the Duel reached that stage with Sora controlling Scissors and Mouse, vs Force Strix, 2 Vanishing Lanius, and 2 Singing Lanius, with the score 300 to 2100. Like...it makes absolutely no sense).

[spoiler= Rant]

Am I the only one that thinks Psycho Sora is Really frickin' stupid? It's unbelievable characterization in a show that's been pretty good with its character writing thus far, and even considering how Sora's been handled later on in the series just makes it even more stupid. How? Well, considering that those scenes make him come off as a complete psychopath (which I don't think automatically makes a character cool; only if it's done well and I really don't think it wasn't), but even considering his sudden change of heart of "Hey Yuya, I'm totally sane now and on your side" just makes it make completely no sense for his character. I get the sheet they made them go through and all that training, but making him go full Melvin and then turn it off like it's a lightswitch is really stupid.

Sora's already one of my least favorite characters, not saying I dislike him totally, but he's pretty dang low on the ladder of character; but then suddenly adding his Psycho Button that he can control just ruins him. If they had written him more like an incredibly sore loser who's being super salty and talking all the trash at Shun and just being a super dick? Yeah, I'd find it more believable. But making him go full-psycho was just a huge face-palm for me.

Does this mean I think the Dub handled that scene well? No, his tone is too cheerful and friendly for me to think that he thinks Shun is utter garbage and instead makes me think he's having a nice, friendly duel. Does this make my go "The dub ruined the show"? Heck no; I don't think the dub ruined the show after screwing up one of its more poorly written characters.

And every time I see people laud over characters for being psycho/sadistic while the show sacrifices writing, this just goes through my head:

I've actually seen people like Sora, who obsess over their own egos to the point where they have miniature, temporary psychological breakdowns if there's someone better than them at their thing. However, if he doesn't absolutely explode the next time he sees Shun, then I'll be calling bull right alongside you, VCR.

I like Sora. Egotistical, self-centered, and with a massive amount of crazy, but with his own sense of morality and justifications behind it all. He's following orders to the best of his ability, and when his friends make him question those orders he puts his friends first. He's an arrogant showoff (see every Duel except his first with Yuya), doesn't like the thought of someone holding back against him, and really has it in for Xyz Dimension; however, he's given a believable reason for all of it- he's top of his class, above the rest of Obelisk Force, and oh my god he's cockrocket!Bastion.

Also, regarding Yuzu: maybe they didn't want to have to make new Melodious for a while?

I ultimately had come to the conclusion that Sora acting psychotic was not his true nature. It was him having a breakdown because his ego was being steadily destroyed in his Duel with Shun, and he kept claiming that he was about to go all out now, and Shun still kept dismantling his plays, to the point of pissing him off so badly. And then losing made him freak out.

He stopped acting psychotic after avenging his loss, because winning satisfied his ego. While he did act a bit deranged at times when fighting Yuya, that was because Yuya kept criticizing his beliefs, and it wasn't on the same level of psycho as when he was losing to Shun, and in the intervening time, he reflected on how he felt about the situation he was in.

To be fair, anyone would be pissed off when no matter what play you make, your opponent conveniently outs every single one of them. Shun had 2 cards that did practically the same thing, except one was better than the others.

Plus it was still bullshit beyond belief that Shun was even allowed to dodge Frightfur Leo's effect long enough to get the Action card needed to stop it.

[spoiler=92 sub thoughts]

  • I've probably said this in RAW thoughts, but Yuzu should've stayed where she was; especially since she knew that JMR/Security is actively looking for her. And yes, Sora, Tsuchikage and Yuya got hurt trying to protect her.
  • A bit upset that we didn't see more of Starve Venom, but suppose we'll start seeing it eventually (if 1001 is featuring that as the cover card)
  • After this episode, I have a lot more respect for Barrett now (though to be fair, he did have the opportunity to finish off Yuya on that one turn if he wanted to).
    • I don't blame him for getting upset at Sergey; hell, I think any of us would be peeved if some random guy interrupted our fights. He wanted to finish the match Yuya and him started, but JMR/Sergey intervened.
    • Though I will say that him summoning back his Fusion Materials cost him the game, but in his defense, he had no idea Geo Kraken could blow up SS'd monsters + burn him enough to KO.
  • Regarding that last turn, Yuya did have the opportunity to re-summon OERD back from the Extra, as he had not P-Summoned that turn and certainly could've done so (unless OERD and other Xyz Pendulums don't have the ability to be re-summoned from the ED like it does in the real game)
    • Sergey can apparently start his own turn without waiting for Yuya to explicitly end (yeah, what the hell?)
    • DRXD should've still had its two mats attached, so he could've very well used its effects on one of Sergey's monsters BEFORE he decided to blow up Magic Prison [correct me if I'm wrong though].
      • If he had done so, one of Sergey's monsters would've ended up with either 625 ATK (Griffon) or 700 (Kraken), assuming double detach. Yuya could go into OERD, then attack/win. Oh wait, I think Magic Prison would've still been able to negate otherwise (well, the P-Scale effects)
  • Oh yeah, and looks like that dimension theory that someone made about the Yus being the same entity is becoming true. Interesting.

I haven't yet watched the dub (though I haven't watched dubbed Yugioh since 5Ds otherwise).

So eventually Zuzu will equal Rain Mikamura. And for those of you who don't know who that is... read this:

http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Rain_Mikamura

We may not know what Zuzu will be used for, but I bet it will probably be based on what happened to Rain. Her dimensional counterparts as well.

Also, Sora as of episode 92, good guy or bad?

Very surprised it's not Zane returning, he seemed like the obvious choice. never hugely cared for Alexis, but who knows, maybe she'll actually matter in this universe.

(also, I like how everyone uses the dub names up to GX, then switches the the Japanese ones. Guess everyone jumped to the sub after the end of GX like I did xD)

If they give Alexis a proper Deck and maintain her position as a Ritual Summoner, I'll declare ARC-V 2nd-place as a series. (1st still belongs to 5Ds)

Also surprised it wasn't Zane, you know... considering...

He could have been The Mole in Xyz from Fusion.
