~British Soul~ Posted November 22, 2015 Report Share Posted November 22, 2015 Haven't watched the episode yet, but I wanted to share this really dumb idea I had;We know that Dennis is a part of the Academia (so the following is now moot), but one could've implied that by listening to Ghetsis' battle theme. I was watching TPP last night and when the Ghetsis battle theme played, everyone in the chat were putting DENNIS, and the thought occurred to me there and then that in BW2 Ghetsis used the DNA Splicers to fuse Kyurem and N's Dragon with AbsoFusion. Wonder what it does, though.And Reiji's lying to them. So he just wants them to capture Yuya? Is this about that Destiny Factor thing he talked about last time? Is Reiji going to be playing more of a villain role in the manga? Well, granted, there are currently no other villains in the manga so I guess he's the only candidate.Nice one, Yuzu. I don't think anybody saw that coming. Readers, Yuya, anybody. Well? Did anyone see it coming?You should've put the terms for your pay on the contract, Yuzu.Shun hates Dueltainers. And he's a prodigy who wants a good duel, kinda like Kaiser from GX. Or at least that's the only example I can think of right now.Shun kidnaps Yuzu's dad. I can infer from that that Yuya has no parents or relationships of any kind, since Shun had to coerce him using the parent of a girl he's barely met. If he has any relatives or friends, LDS probably either don't know them or can't get to them. Makes me wonder what Yuya's life is like, and why exactly he does the things he does (saving people, looking for G.O.D). Maybe he's from another dimension? I'm not saying that the whole 4 dimensions plot is going to be in the manga, just something involving other dimensions.Aerial duel - yeah, Shun's probably got RaidRaptors. Calling it now Yuri's gonna card this guy when he shows up.Sora and Tsukikage's scene was great. It's nice that they put that in, since Tsukikage seems to be forgotten so often.Nice to see Sora duel again too, even if it's only for one turn. I hope this isn't the last we see of psycho Sora though. For the moment it seems his compassion is only towards Yuya and co, not the xyz dimension. evilfusion Posted November 23, 2015 Report Share Posted November 23, 2015 [spoiler=Wait a minute...]It just occurred to me - that Duel Disk that Sora threw to Yuzu against Security...that's not her Disk (I originally assumed it was, because convenience). That's the Disk Sora was using in Standard. When he returned to Standard during the Battle Royale, he was using an Academia Disk, and is still using it, as indicated by the fact the Disk Blade is sword shaped and the disk itself is pretty fancy looking. His Standard Disk was yellow with a normal-shaped blue dueling blade. The Disk Yuzu is now using is yellow with a blue dueling blade. This shouldn't be important, although it is cool for the sake of consistency. Except uh...that Disk has a Forced Return program installed in it. You know...that program that takes someone directly (back) to Academia without the user realizing that it activated until it's too late to stop it. Knowing Yuzu's colossally bad luck and the sheer irony factor, it strikes me as a possibility that this might come into play in the future. That, and supposedly Sora turned off Tsukikage's attempt to duel, because yeah he's still pissed that his brother got carded.Supposedly Hikage's fine as he is now. Yuya's in prison now for whatever reasons. He's been getting a lot more depth, and he's complicated without being too complicated. At the start of the series, he was...annoying as hell. But it eventually became clear this was an act for him. He was concealing the fact he was far stronger as a Duelist and extremely well-trained. Now that I think back on it, we know he was fooling around in his first Duel with Yuya because he first struggled to get an Action Card (Yuya took it instead), but when he started playing seriously, he showed that he was extremely nimble and acrobatic. This trait in particular is one he constantly downplayed. He did act that nimble again when confronting Yuto back when Yuzu was first trying to persuade him to teach her Fusion Summoning, and showed up again when he Dueled Shun the first time, when the building was collapsing on him (after the hit by Blaze Falcon). It was also at that point that he stopped hiding the fact he was an Academia agent to Shun's face. After losing, his pride couldn't handle it and he acted really impulsively and smugly, tracking down Yuto to force a Duel, and then still underestimating Yuto to the point where Yuto legitimately would have won, but was purposefully holding back, which enraged Sora. Upon returning to Standard, Sora first hunted down Shun for their rematch and won (but I'm really hating how that Duel was handled. Not only did it seemingly last for like...15-18 HOURS, but I can't think of any plausible way that the score was 300 - 2100, with Sora controlling Sabres and Mouse in ATK, and Shun controlling 1 Force Strix, 2 Vanishing Lanius, and 2 Singing Lanius, with neither of them having Set cards or a hand). Regardless, Sora stopped acting so psychopathic once his pride grudge was satisfied, and he prioritized Serena, as ordered. The ninja bros interfered, and then Yuya showed up, and Sora was clearly frustrated. Even back then, I got the impression he didn't really want to turn Hikage into a card, at least not in front of Yuya, but had to out of necessity because he was sure to continue getting in the way. Then he rematched Yuya on Yuya's insistence, and that Duel was...pretty awesome and intense, even with no result, and while Sora insisted that he was a loyal Academia agent and his merciless approach to Dueling was his true self, he did clearly enjoy the Duel as a Duel, and Yuya's statement that "Duels are fun, so stop fighting" (with Dueling as a weapon being the implied interpretation). So now, he revealed to Yuya that he's still loyal to Academia, but does see Yuzu and Yuya as friends, and is clearly very conflicted throughout all this. He's trying to balance his loyalty with his sense of friendship, and so he's blatantly using a loophole in his orders. He was ordered originally to capture Selena, but never Yuzu. As such, despite knowing Yuzu is ALSO a target, he's protecting Yuzu because it's not his orders to capture her. Sora gets very defensive anytime Yuya or Yuzu questions whether he's really loyal to Academia. Because he IS loyal to them and sees their goal as righteous, but he cares about his first real friends as well. It's an understandable struggle. The interaction with Tsukikage was also pretty significant, because Sora's first instinct, of course, is to engage him when challenged, but when Yuzu mentioned how the fighting causes suffering and sorrow, Sora opts to essentially offer a surrender and apology, acknowledging the latter as meaningless. That's...actually a pretty noble thing to say/do, which confirms to me that Sora didn't REALLY want to turn the red ninja into a card originally. As for Yuya getting that brainwashing surgery...okay, JMR crosses a line with that plan. I find the idea despicable. I can overlook the Sergey thing because Sergey was heavily implied to be batshit insane and psychotic originally, so controlling him is at least making use of a resource you can tap into. But to want to do the same to Yuya is sick. Also, JMR has totally got to be rigging these matchups, since he runs the City right now. Yuya vs Crow is an expected matchup, but it's no coincidence. Yuzu fought Sergey because JMR wanted Sergey to capture Yuzu. He's now anticipating Serena beating Yugo and then being paired against Sergey for the same reason he had Yuzu face Sergey. I'm pretty confident that Sora will rescue Yuya before anything happens to him, but even if that's not the case, the threat of Yuya being surgically brainwashed is disturbing to me. Really, I can only overlook it being done to Sergey because it seems that the brainwashing is to keep an otherwise mentally unstable and brutal psychopath on a leash. Sora appears to have figured out (indirectly) that Roger has connections to Fusion, hence why he told Yuzu the whole thing about Academia. [spoiler=Irrelevant stuff about dub names and some cards]Mieru, Michio and that quiz kid got name changed (as usual); Michio is Reed Pepper, quiz kid is some French name and I forgot Mieru's one.Math for 5000 question changed to ask for pi instead.(Probably changed it because small kids understand PI, but not Fermat's theorem [which requires graduate algebra to even read]) Although, most of us don't care about these changes because we watch subs. I had the same expression Goyo Defender did. Anyway, if the matchups play out the way Roget expects, the final four will be Crow, Sergey, Serena, and Yuya.HOWEVER, this depends on Yugo losing to Serena, an uncertain outcome given the way Clear Wing works. It might be the Yu Crew together in the semifinals. Also, given how Roget expects the finale to be SERENA v. Yuya . . . We might have Yugo v. Yuya instead, with Berserk (and possibly mind-controlled) Yuya facing off against Yugo, pulling out all the stops and giving Yuya the third Dimensional Dragon.But that's just a possibility. (Though she will be taken there for protection by Tsukikage)- JMR, you sick funk. You want to implant your cancerous control device into Salad Yuya? Somehow, I think that'll be harder than JMR thinks. Plus there's the fact that Sergey is a psychopath and Yuya isn't.- Sora indirectly managed to figure out that someone from Academia has wormed their way into the higher ups of Synchro and vowed he would protect her and convinced Tsukikage to shelter her, with the latter saying he'll take Yuzu and the children underground for protection (Though the kids object to that). Literally the first time I can think of that a YGO anime made me laugh. Would very much like to see it used again but chances it will ever even be referenced are quite low.~ I always knew Roger was a cast-iron cunt at heart, some here started to warm to him for whatever reason but he's pretty much gone and killed that off now. Going to have to wonder what the dub will do when it gets here.~ Tsukikage needs more screen time, this was a start but it'll need to pick up.~ Still holding out on my hope that Sergey wins out the tournament using the same strategy every time. From the information we were given it looks like what he did against Yuzu was pretty much what he did against the guy whose name I can't recall so the reactions of the audience and Melissa "Incompetent commentator" Claire were a bit odd considering. Sneaking in is his best bet, but Reiji's being stared down by a lot of goons, and in here, goon number does mean things at times - even Reiji or Tsuk or Reira can't blast their way out of the encirclement willy nilly.
