So how was anyone supposed to be suprised at Sergy's deck considering he used the same tactics to beat damon?

Do people just stop watching when fodder characters duel?

^This. I was wondering the same thing.

People can't even say "but Damon didn't get as far against Sergey" because there's no gradual progression in that strategy to indicate somebody would lose before the one OTK goal happens. I think this is one of those derps they just hope you don't ask about.

[spoiler=Thoughts on 76 RAW]

Ok, what the actual funk? This episode was pretty cringeworthy.

- Yeah, I hate Sergey now. What he did at the end of the duel was despicable quite frankly, in fact I'd rank him WORSE than Team Catastrophe from 5Ds.

And that wasn't the only 5Ds-esque vibe I got from the episode. The fact that they're duelling outside the Duel Palace from this point is reminiscent of the WRGP finals when they were duelling outside the stadium.

- I do think he went too far with what he did though; slamming into Yuzu's D-Wheel so hard, sending her flying into a building because even JMR was pissed.

- It was nice to see Shun display different emotions other than rage in this episode though.

EDIT: I was looking at the wikia and on the page for ep 77, the caption below one of the pics said; "singer vs masochist/sadist".

[spoiler=Wow, really?]Ok, so, apparently, according to a few sources of mine, there a couple of people who are actually glad that Sergey threw Yuzu on freaking building and hope that she hurt herself badly. All because they perceive her as a Mary Sue. WTF!? Did you guys actually watch the freaking series? What's wrong with those people!!??

Well, we knew that Sergey was known for being a duelist crusher, but yeah ramming into Yuzu and making her fall a couple hundred feet to win; what the funk?

Looks like some of us were right in thinking Yuzu would get steamrollered.

It would appear that Roger had some issues with how Sergey acted this match, and decided to call Security.

Given the thing, it would appear that once he got injured, something happened and Sergey became sadistic-masochistic (is that even possible).

Oh yeah, and he actually LIKES pain.

Why am I getting Hidan vibes from this guy. Ah right, because this guy likes paying LP and enjoys it in a similar vein to that character.

As for the boss Fusion, I would probably say that a better way to describe Van Darli Zuma's stat boost is with the absolute value, since that would make more sense.

In this case, he had 200 LP, so 200 - 2500 = - 2300, and double that is - 4600.

Yeah, we can't have negative stats, but to be more accurate, absolute value would be a better term (since all values are non-negative).

Blame this on mathematical laws and crap.

Also appears Yuzu tried to warn everyone about the Interdimensional Wars; whether or not the audience believes it is another thing.

----

In a nutshell, I'm just asking myself "what the hell did I just watch"?

Yuzu was clearly not focused on the duel since she was busy thinking about Yuya, Yuya probably missed the details, Reiji-Serena-Yugo-Shun know what actually is going on, and Melissa and the audience probably didn't pay much attention since it was mostly Sergey getting trashed by Damon until he turns it around.

It kinda implied too that Sergey didn't use the fusion, but just using the synch+trap's burn to finish Damon off. The deck probably has other win condition related to the thorn counters too.

Then again this is probably just some flimsy justification, but it at least was better than when WRGP happened and people missed the Aesirs effect.

[spoiler=76]

I'm surprised Sergei dueled actually, i honestly thought his winning condition was to make his opponent crash by ramming him/her over (not that he didn't do it anyway), but i didn't expect dueling to be his forté. I'm curious to what the dub will do to censor his S&M faptitude out there too, he was sweating and such, ew.

We know Yuzu survives (fingers crossed), but this means Yuya's egao will not make an appearance a few episodes. Sora's mission got a hella lot easier now that 1 of his targets is immobilized. Curious to who will get a chance to avenge her. Round 3 leaves us with Yuya, Sergei, Hugo (sorry Selena, dragon clash canon duel pending) and... i want to say Kurosaki, (cause Crow is annoying gingercriminal with affinity for makeshift orphanages).

Question of the day: Why didn't our characters get a criminal mark when they were jailed?

That's a good question, though Tokumatsu doesn't have a criminal mark either if I remember correctly.

[spoiler=Thoughts on 77 Subbed]

- Ok, so literally every other sentence from Melissa in this episode was more or less stating how Sergey had summoned monsters with 0 ATK in attack position (/exaggeration), not like Sergey had a strategy or anything.

- Yuzu wanted to end the duel because Sergey was injured and thought it was wrong to let the duel continue like this before chanting about the interdimensional war. (Again, like Reira told Yuya she'd need to keep winning to convey that message)

- Interesting that Reiji had compared Sergey to a volcano in response to the Exec Council saying that the duel was decided. It was more-or-less a correct analogy given the final turn.

- So Sergey has a limiter installed huh? I'm sure we'll learn more about this at a later point.

- Sergey's duel with Damon wasn't beautiful enough? To be fair, we saw bugger all of it anyway so yeah, but he said that this duel is different as he saw that Yuzu's face was saying "I've won" and would rather crush an opponent who is sure that they have won.

[spoiler=77 sub thoughts]

Yeah, what the funk Sergey.

This is even worse than watching Team Catastrophe do stuff in 5Ds.

You threw a girl...into a nearby building and broke a bunch of windows in the process.

It'll be a miracle if she even survives; obvious real life implications, you're dead.

Hell, even Jose wasn't that bad when he rammed Jack and Crow in their fight.

----

Yuzu agrees that the Friendship Cup is wrong in the way it does things, and she bothered to care for Sergey's injuries (though he's masochistic, so he doesn't care about the pain).

I would probably say that Sergey really had no strategy except to make his Fusion a counterattack monster, and do a lot of other things.

So...Sergey's limiter breaks and he becomes crazy as hell.

Sounds about right for his past.

@Nai: I don't know; probably because they want her to keep using existing cards instead of making new stuff.

But yeah, Diva is crap against Sergey in this case.

Half the comments on GoGoAnime ask this question, and it's clear.

Diva sucks in this case, so another Melodious Fusion is needed (apparently one that a lot of you are keen on).

Y'know, I was gonna say "I'm surprised noone else compared Sergey to Team Catastrophe at the end." but now that you made the comparison (that wasn't present in your initial thoughts surprisingly), I can't now.
