According to my theory , JMR was once a pretty high ranked member of academia , for some strong reason he went rogue and went to synchro to rule there but still he grudges academia to the point of revenge ( that request and such) but the future spoilers of JMR and arc-v dont know why,  but are leading me to believe that JMR is somehow , somehow related to Yuya's father or he knows something about the latter. He will either try to form a coalition of sorts with yuya or somehow try to manipulate him i guess .

Seemingly cold vibes from reiji but tbh ever since day 1 , Reiji didnt have that protagonist , "to be on the right side" vibe and especially his mother gives me villainous vibes everytime .

As far as Sora is concerned , i think he either went full rogue on academia or is playing with Yuya & Co, just for the fun of it, ( I wonder if he and kurosaki will indulge in some kind of heat again.)

And i can bet my ass that when Yuya and Yuri come face to face or duel , that berserk side will be revealed or pointed out ( that is the sole mystery that i cant make a theory on).

Either way , some future hype for arc-v i guess.

Kind of there. I actually think JMR was a rather low ranking member of Academia, but his ego has always said otherwise. Always wanted to be up there with the big leagues, but has never been able to do it. Then, he got the opportunity to plant Real Solid Vision in City and act as a mole, but was instead given a position of leadership by the City's authority. So, with that, the power went to his head and now he thinks he can do better than Academia and take control of the City, and eventually overthrow Akaba Leo as well. But yeah, I do not think that he was very high in the command chain for these reasons:

- He takes the removal of his authority from the City leadership very personally it looks like

- He cannot stand people talking down on him in any way

- He's scared of Yuri

With all of that in mind, JMR is the archetype of villain who's ambitions eclipse his ability.

[spoiler=76 Thoughts]Definitely think that Reiji's a villain now, despite the line they've been making us walk on his stance. He took Jack's words to heart, like Reira, but the way he dismissed JMR was very... He came across like someone who had no use for someone who wouldn't conquer EVERYTHING. Given that he works with his mother, this just sells the point.

• JMR wasn't as annoying this time, though he certainly was pissed off quite a bit this episode. Wants to make Synchro his, but because Dennis/Sora exist, they'll relay his plans.
  • Confirms he's originally from Fusion, but doesn't want to work with Reo any further.
• Again, 10 min recap sucks for this episode.
• Sergey smirked when he found out he'd face Yuzu, so I suspect things are going to get ugly next week. (Though he did already manhandle 50 duelists single-handed, so...)
• Council knew about Academia (because of Roger), but yeah they aren't getting involved.
• Implication that Academia would curbstomp Synchro if they came is probably true; we'll see though since Obelisk Force was ordered to get moving once they prepare.

With the parallels between dimensions I wonder if we can figure out something watching dimensional counterparts. Or rather, where would the line of similarities stop? because we also know the dimensions aren't exact mirrors of each other at all.

We could make pretty outlandish thoughts like:

Some suspect Reiji being potentially adopted.

Nobody knows why Yuzu doesn't have a mom.

Only Yuzu's Xyz counterpart seems to have a sibling; Shun the brother.

Reiji has that weird color hint along with Shun and Sora.

Reiji has that ever so small connection with Serena.

Wonder if Yuzu, Reiji, or any of their counterparts or suspected nods for counterparts, are related to each other just like Shun and Ruri are.
The whole thing is sketchy at best and doesn't make a clear point, but still didn't loose anything by posting this.....
Yuzu's family is incomplete in one way or another in all dimensions so far, even Standard where she's better off than in the rest, oddly enough, so bad theory time?

We know he got sent to capture Yuzu in Standard AGES ago, but didn't actually arrive until the Battle Royale. In that time, Sora had been force-returned, Serena and Barlett had shown up, and Sora and the Obelisk Force had arrived and started attacking. And then in this episode, Reo indicated that the Obelisk Force would reach the Synchro Dimension before Yuri.

This raises a question if the people at Academia respect or fear him more, we've seen he kind of gets along with Dennis, but that was for the sake of the mission, also his autoritah overules Obelisk Force, which are supposedly harder to intimidate.

Barlett wanting to not cooperate with Yuri gave me the impression that he plans to redeem himself by capturing the girls BEFORE Yuri shows up, and allowing Yuri to take over would squander his opportunity. I'm just puzzled why Yuri seems to take FOREVER to show up when other Academia forces seem to arrive at their destinations extremely quickly, within hours.

 

I legitimately believe Dennis and Yuri are friends in their own right. Maybe not super-close, buddy-buddy, but they seem to be completely cool with each other.

I get the "sadistic funk with no cares" vibe from Yuri every time he appears. He's probably just casually strolling to his point of departure or getting distracted by a puppy to feed to his __ __ Fusion Dragon.

I hope (like always) that Yurii gets a chance to change, we don't know if he's inherently cruel or he drew the shorter stick out of the 4 and has a worst case of the constant destruction mode (or his attitude is influenced by his dragon or/and the misteryous darkness Mieru foreshadowed seasons ago).

Lastly, it takes for him forever to get anywhere, cause the're keeping him for other arcs maybe (we don't know if he'll make an appearance in this one). Pre-Battle Royal was about Yuya/Yuto, this one maybe Yuya/Hugo should be considered under the spotlight... so there will be more of Yurii,

So how was anyone supposed to be suprised at Sergy's deck considering he used the same tactics to beat damon?

[spoiler=WTF did i just watch?]That duel was cringe worthy (not as in bad episode, but what Sergey did pretty much).

Seeing Yuzu thrown out like that made me wince hard and that typically wouldn't happen when I see duels. Sergey's deck is pretty much masochism turned into sadism (if that even makes sense).

Clearly he didn't have a handle since even Jean seemed to be annoyed and pissed at what he did. Now the episode was done pretty well imo as well and it's definitely one I want to see subbed in a day or so.
