He shows absolutely no other indication of character traits outside of rage. Realistic or not, that is not good writing, and it cannot be defended as such when it leaves him almost 1-Dimensional. He's had flashbacks and the like where you could see him grieve when they were out looking for Ruri. Instead, we got th look of somewhat annoyed or angry. That doesn't fit LOSING YOUR SISTER, it just shows laziness in writing.

 

Shun's character is actually 3 dimensional.  It's just that his character is a function of several variables, in which case in order to represent a 3D character in a 1D space for comprehension we must also condense it's domain:

Same can be said for sakaki yuya , he is just "ladies and gentleman" nothing else , he is boring and he is reaching yuma level annoyance even if you like it or not sir.

Shun tbh has much more potential than yuya at this point of the storyline and no one likes a straight up stupid MC.

Only time i like yuya's character is when he goes berserk , atleast we get something new , all the time he just remembers his dad , top decks a pendulum , and its "ladies and gentleman" and we all go facepalm.

Shun is right there with him but yuya and he both stand on the edge of the same bridge when it comes to diluted characters.

yuya's already been covered. And the fact that you're trying straw man is really sad, especially when you offered nothing new.

 

Yuya has steadily developed from the start. Something else you would notice if you had read the older comments. He's grown s a person, refined himself, and so on.

 

You're really trying to generalize Yuya, but he's not so black and white, and the parts you're trying to attack are his ideals.

 

Synchro is forcing him to realize it doesn't always work. Reiji forced him to see he lacked the power. And so on. He hasn't been static, he's been slowly evolving, but as a same man in an insane world, he has trouble doing so.

 

Ladies and Gentlemen is who he is. It's what he does. It's not old, no one else has a problem with it. SMILES draws some issues, but they're exaggerates most of the time, as people on both sides have attested to.

 

Is Yuya perfect? Nah, he's not. But you can steadily watch him grow and get fleshed out over 75 episodes, as he's much different than he was at the start in general. He's a solid MC trying to find his way. You can't blame him for having some flaws, especially when it's over ideals he was raised with/reinstilled with, especially considering his immature understanding of said ideals.

 

Yuya is a character all about potential, and we haven't even seen his recent developments play out in a duel or around others, so writing him off like that is just ignorant. Shun hasn't shown us any reason to have hope in him, and the fact that you attempted to distract from the issue and break others down to defend him shows how weak your points are.

I was happier when people discussed the plot and invested time and thought in wacky theories about Yuya turning out to be the antagonist in the end, or what color will Ruri's hair be... 

 

Can we end this Kurosakaki argument or at least move it to another specific topic, cause it's getting plenty annoying as of now?! 

I know i contributed to the dispute, but tbh, i'm sorry i did, i didn't think it would escalate as much.

As of now, we have: 

 

Sergei Volkov vs. Yuzu Hiragi (as canon, confirmed at some point by magazine teasers)

Also, their victories weren't subsequent, so what logics would say they are randomized each round.

 

I'm thinking Hugo vs. Yuya will be left for the final, so that match-up will be left for later.

Selena, Hugo, Yuya, Crow, Shinji and Shun. 

 

This leave quite a few possibilities: 

 

Here are my guesses:

 

Selena vs. Yuya (no idea)

Hugo vs. Crow (idk)

Shun vs. Shinji (cause you know, birds and bees xD)

+ Yuzu vs. Sergei.

 

Round 3 will be

Yuzu vs. Hugo (Yuzu will try to not get distracted by Yuya synchonizing with her opponent again, but fail at entertainment and lose).

Yuya vs. Shun (Yuya will give a big speech on how violence is bad)

That way Yuya could show Shun how to control one's own inner anger or some sheet and maybe give Shun an opportunity to grow (whoops did I just bring this full circle?).

I honestly feel that would give a better opportunity for a struggle though.  Yuya really has no reason to dislike Hugo or anything.  Unless they do the whole "mystical stuff happens during the duel" or whatever, I think this outcome would allow for more potential for growth amongst all the characters (not just Yuya and Shun.  Hell I feel like even Jack would have something to say there).

That or

Sergei vs. Yuzu

 

Next round:

Sergei vs. Yuya

i'm jealous i wouldn't think of that, that's genious. Here's your character growth - try to be ruthless and angry when dueling a girl with your sister's face. 

 

Either that or Selena (we know they get along, kind of, he didn't spill her guts even though she's from Academia).

 

 

Also, i do believe the 'mystical stuff happen during the duel' is bound to happen, like it or not, it's a plot device and they are responsible and will have  to shed more light on the whole counterpart conundrum sooner or later.

I see no reason why he can't at least Xyz. It's been confirmed that they are going to Heartland, and Samurais can Xyz summon Rank 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 easily.

It hasn't been released yet (joy) but the IRL effect is very useful. And yeah, he only used it once.

I dunno, do they only have one copy if Susanowo? Common sense says no (they have shown multiple copies of an Extra Deck Monster) but he never tried to summon 2.

We know Masumi had triple Lady Lapislazuli in her ED, but she only summoned one.

It is possible that Gongenzaka has multiple Susanowo, however writers choose not to make him summon it (or show it).

 

Or he has another 10 we've not seen yet.

I know players will welcome the idea of Superheavy Xyz with open hands and hearts, but to be honest - what are the odds?

The Standard Trinity already excel in one method each - Yuzu learned Fusion from Sora and Masumi and Gon-chan was taught Synchros by Yaiba, Yuya discovered Pendulum, but then again, rules don't apply to him (he's using basically everything, soon tbd Synchros - if Enlightment Paladin is really his card). I think in the anime the all-summoning-method mastery is something special and reserved for special characters like Yuya and Reiji...

 

My intention was to focus on dimensionshipping... 

 

Although Mieru was the only character to have an open affection for someone, i think she had a reality check when she noticed how much her darling cares for someone else. :/ sorry, Mieru, most of us know the feeling of unrequited love/crush. 

Then we have 'hints' (which are pretty obvious) - Yuzu x Yuya, Hugo has egao towards Rin, Crow has... feelings for small children (sorry, that was wildly innapropriate). The world is at war, but even though most characters are tweens, i don't think most of them have the on-screen time to dwell on the intricate love-summoning methods. 

 

I ship Mieru and Yurii though, cause of darling-substitute shipping, 

also - Kurosaki and Selena - revengecestshipping, it's so wrong and right at the same time xD
