when the hell was that stated?

It was heavily implied like 50 episodes ago ._.

He told Yuzu she had the bracelet when she was born (and yes, it was covered further, so not just a bit of phrasing being off), which doesn't make sense, and there was more to imply such.

My current hunch is that a lot of Academia agents run AG- Chaos Fusion. The Obelisk Force ran a few cards that let them revive or Summon another Fusion. They played a game of attrition most of the time, using constant burn and destruction effects. So they actually get a bunch of Extra Deck monsters in their Graveyard, and run, but don't require, Polymerization for their Hound Dog Fusions.

Dennis, using Xyz normally, wouldn't need as much Antique Gear support cards to make Chaos Fusion live.

Interestingly...I'm wondering about his Deck quite a bit. Almost all his cards are Pendulums. While it's possible Reiji gave all the Lancers archetype Pendulums, Dennis' Deck seems unusually filled with them compared to the other Lancers (Shun and Serena don't use them at all, Yuya's are his own, Sawatari's Deck was pretty much custom built for him to use Pendulums, Gogenzaka only has those 2 Pendulums for sure, Yuzu is not technically a Lancer yet and doesn't have Pendulums at all, etc). But Dennis has a LOT of Pendulums and Pendulum support cards (Pendulum Magical Box/etc).

Pendulums doesn't mesh with Gongenzaka's style as much. Tsukikage probably didn't bother using pendulums since mad ninja skillz. Reira probably has C/C pendulums but not that much. Shun and Serena don't want to use it. Yuya already has it. Reiji too. And Sawatari's deck is full pendulums. So that pretty much leaves Dennis.

Probably Reiji's just giving them as much as the Lancer's deck would be able to utilize them, and since Dennis's deck is very pendulum friendly...yeah. Also probably because he does give a lot of pendulums to other lancers but since this is Dennis's probable last duel for quite a while, we'll finish up Performages for now in one go.

It does make one wonder if Sora has AG-Chaos Fusion as well, though his deck is fusion orientated anyway so he probs don't have the space (in his Extra) for it, and most likely don't need it.

I couldn't really see Sora running AGs but I also didn't see Dennis using them. I just wonder why the AGs are the "bad guy" monsters.

I am going to assume that it has something to do with Crowler, since Ancient Gears are originally his Deck (though he wasn't a villain, just a professor who didn't like Jaden for a good while until things changed).

Then again, the Fusion Dimension is designed very similar to Duel Academy in GX, so I would expect similar elements in both.

There was that one-time principal from the 5Ds Academy who also had AGs, but he was a minor character who didn't really do much.

-----

Either that, or writers decide to promote an existing set instead of designing a whole new one.

Supposedly non-generic or/and high ranked Academia duelists can branch and have their own unique decks, and Dennis just goes with "traditions" and because the card is just sick and godly (i'm guessing Giant either destroys or negates monsters, since otherwise it won't stand agains Rev'Falc's stat nullifying effects).

Also, as seen from the preview, their duel has impact on the field (as per 2 duelist that come from dimensions where dueling is war), Dennis speedbumps on some debris and misses a chance to snatch an Action Spell. Guessing the audience is in horror,...

[spoiler=Pendulums]

Selena might have some Pendulums, but the chances are extremely slim, cause i don't think Reiji or anyone can convince her how useful they are, unlike Gongenzaka who welcomed the idea and got some before warping into the Synchro dimension, she would have dismissed them, much like how Shun did (in episode 33).

Shun was given 1(?) pendulum card before his duel with Sora, which he rejected. (this makes me angry somehow)

Yuzu might still have the Pendulum Statues: White Butterfly and White Flower, since she teleported during the battle royale and was last seen using them in the last pre-Yurii duel...

Reira might or might not have such cards, his duel count is OK, but his deck is mostly obscure... supposedly does tensai pendulum magic like his 'brother'.

I believe the AG decks are mass-produced just like the Security decks. Security forces exclusively use Jutte and Goyo cards, alongside Gate Blocker. So I figure that there's one deck model created, and then mass produced and spread amongst the Security's forces, just like Academia's AG stuff. That way their forces have equal and potent power, rather than having an extreme mismatch of abilities as Obelisk Force seem pretty comfortable with spamming AG Hound and its Fusion forms. In fact, the Hound Fusions are made to be used en mass really, so it makes sense why all of Obelisk Force uses them.

Sora is a special agent and is thus given the liberty of having a different deck, most likely to help him blend in since he was a spy. Yuri is also high-ranking and thus he would also have his own deck, rather than an AG deck. Dennis doesn't appear to be a major user of Fusion, so he'd probably rely on the tried and true AG Fusions, rather than trying to rely on something that was probably untested, like potential Entermage Fusions.

[spoiler=Response]

That's a good point. I suppose if Yuzu were to use them against Sergey (assuming she still has 'em), the Exec Council will defo be surprised and then ask Reiji why she has Pendulums even though she isn't a Lancer, and he'll probs mention that she had them from the Battle Royale in Standard.

I expected Shun to be a lot more pissed off, but Satellite Cannon Falcon was enough to screw Dennis over.

Also worth noting that Dennis missed a couple Action Cards that might have saved him, but we don't know.

Although it did end up destroying the Duel Arena, but no one cared until later.

Wow City, you didn't even notice that the MC almost got herself killed (even a few Tops saw that).

Shun tries to seal Dennis into a card, but presumably Reiji tampered with his disc so he couldn't.

Then we have Shun attempting to knock Dennis out for what he did, and I sure as hell wouldn't blame him, but got stopped.

Oh yeah, and Ruri finally shows up.

Too bad her image isn't displayed in the ending.

Yuya having a Berserk Mode moment after seeing things.

Although that calmed down a bit.

Melissa Claire almost got smashed by flying objects going towards the window.

It's solid vision though, so it will hurt.

----

Also, the special opening still exists, although I don't think it really matters, because next week, we get new one.

[spoiler=76 spoiler]

Well, Roger decides to go rogue with whatever he's doing.

Also, we see other Duel Chasers besides 227 [they seriously look alike] and presumably the whole line of Goyo monsters.

Suppose that NOW they decide to play Guardian.

[spoiler=Episode 75]-We see more of Xyz Dimension, more specifically, Heartland.

-Ruri finally debuts! The Inter-dimensional eightsome is complete.

-Dennis and Shun's monsters are ruining the arena and apparently, no one cares... until the end.

-I guess Jack is good at poker with his poker face.

-Sora appears.

-That Satellite Cannon Falcon attack was amazing. First, it weakened the Chaos Giant with his effect and then went to space and unleashed a beam towards Chaos Giant, obliterating it.

-Shun wins. Like most of us predicted. Reiji messed around his duel disk so he couldn't card people. Talk about taking precautions.

-But at least Shun tried to beat Dennis up! Why did you interrupt him, Cup Staff!? Don't be like 4kids.

-All 4 Yuyas appear in one episode. I'm not sure if this is the 1st time though.

Also, NEXT EPISODE REIJI VS JMR IN VIRTUAL CHESS?!

That would be nice.

[spoiler=Well 75 was something]

Shun had his own personal "Berzerker Soul" moment, if i can draw a parallel to Atemu. Also, we managed to see the other cover card for Wing Raiders and more of his deck (seems Revolution is his 2nd "tier" ace, presumably the 3rd being Rise). As Sattelite is rank 8 it would make more sense running "RUM - Double Des Force"... anyways

The Duel was destructive enough to convince the counsil of this 'dimension war thingy'. Melissa Claire had a near-death experience and Yuya decided to try to mellow-down Yuto's anger in time, i think his wild mode is being tamed to become 'less destructive with the same win ratio'.

Ruri is finally revealed, seems she's on the darker hair scheme like her brother. Wing-themed hair clip and almost Kurosaki-like determination on her face. . . it won't be a far guess that she also plays some kind of Xyz deck with winged monsters - birds or angels maybe?... imma leave it at that

Sora seems to not be amused (after what happened during the battle royale i think his score with Shun was settled) or he's gone rogue. One can only go through that many memory-extraction procedures before snapping. Gonna wait for the subtitles to come out, but did the whole Xyz dimension get invaded just to get Ruri? and because HE was unable to pedo-snatch her successfully with Trapeze Magician?

Also, he has a moment of truth (actually 2), where abandoning his smile-inducing entertainment dueling leave him unable to save himself - Karma is not a wench, she does justice in this case.

[spoiler=Early sciprt 75]

Last Time’s Egao Count: 74

Yuya: The last match of the Friendship Cup’s first round is Kurosaki vs. Dennis.

Melissa: This is amazing!
Dennis has Xyz Summoned as well!
This match will go down in history as the Friendship Cup’s first Xyz showdown!
This exciting development is what one would expect for the first round’s finale!

Kurosaki: And then, my opponent will have to reveal his hand!

Kurosaki: Well then, show me! Your true identity!

Dennis: Is this what you want to see?

Dennis: Fusion Summon!
Come forth! Level-10! Antique Gear Chaos Giant!

Melissa: I-it’s huge! W-w-what is this thing!?

Kurosaki: As I thought, you’re from Academia!

Dennis: Well then…shall we begin the hunting game?

(Opening Sequence)

Melissa: Academia? True identity?
Just what are they talking about?
Anyway, there’s no doubt that this Duel’s just got heated up even more!

Yuya: Dennis is…from Academia…?

Reiji: I’m quite certain that the enemy has already infiltrated this City.

Gael: Do you even know what you’re saying?

Azul: You’re acting as if you know everything.

Reiji: Are you not aware of it this entire time?

White Taki: Well, anyway, why don’t we wait for this Duel to conclude?
The audience would cause a rumble if it is canceled, after all…

Melissa: Kurosaki’s current Life is 2500!
He’s been putting up a pretty good fight with his 2000 ATK Rank-6 Revolution Falcon!
On the other hand, Dennis has Antique Gear Chaos Giant on his field!
An enormous Level-10 monster with a whopping 4500 ATK!

Dennis: Allow me to pay you back in full for removing my mask!

Kurosaki: You bastard…

Kurosaki: I won’t let this disgusting monster do whatever it pleases a second time!

Dennis: If you were able to do that, Heartland would still be a peaceful place right now, no?

Kurosaki: Shut up! Reverse card, double open!
Continuous Traps, Raidraptor – Lock Chain, and Raidraptor – Reactor!
Lock Chain’s effect: once per turn, when my opponent Special Summons a monster whose ATK is higher than the combined ATK of all Raidraptor monsters on my field, I can change its battle position!

Kurosaki: Then, I activate Reactor’s effect: It destroys the monster that has changed its battle position, and inflicts damage equal to its ATK!

Melissa: That’s a pretty powerful trap combo!
It’s over!
With this, Dennis’s Life will hit zero!

Dennis: Antique Gear Chaos Giant’s effect!
This monster is unaffected by my opponent’s Magic and Trap cards!

Melissa: I-isn’t Dennis acting a bit more malicious than usual?
Haha! Kinda like when he switched to the villain’s role in his street performance.

Melissa: Oh well, I guess it’s fine as long as it gets everyone fired up.
Yeah! This will fire things up for sure!

Yuya: No way…Dennis is from Academia?
That can’t be true…

Dennis: Battle! I attack Revolution Falcon with Chaos Giant!
Crush of Darkness!

Melissa: After overcoming a dangerous trap combo,
Dennis counterattacked!
If his attack is successful, Kurosaki will run out of Life!

Kurosaki: But due to its effect, when Revolution Falcon battles a Special Summoned monster, it will reduce that monster’s ATK and DEF to zero!

Dennis: Not happening!
When Chaos Giant attacks, it negates my opponent’s monsters’ effects!

Kurosaki: What!?

(Crowd cheers as Chaos Giant tosses Revolution Falcon around
Like a ragdoll)

Yuya: Y-Yuto…

Yuzu: It’s toying around with its prey…
Why is it fighting in this manner…?

Yuya: I can feel Yuto’s rage within me…
Then, Dennis is really…from Academia.

Dennis: If I destroy the 2000 ATK Revolution Falcon, you’ll take 2500 damage, and your Life will drop to zero!
And I will clear this game!

Melissa: Looks like it’s finally settled!
Heh?

Dennis: What?

Kurosaki: When I would receive damage, I can activate the effect of Raidraptor - Last Strix from my hand.
This card reduces the damage by 100 for every Magic and Trap card on my field, and then, I can Special Summon it!

Melissa: Kurosaki managed to hang on with a mere 200 Life!

Dennis: It’s that card, huh?

Kurosaki: I draw one card!
I’ll have to reveal it as well!
The card is Raidraptor - Last Strix.
It’s a monster card.

Kurosaki: When the targeted Trapeze Magician leaves the field,
Target Flag will be destroyed, and you’ll have to reveal your hand!

Dennis: Don’t you know?
Chaos Giant can attack all of my opponent’s monsters.
I destroy Last Strix with Chaos Giant!
I end my turn!
How long are you planning to struggle?

Kurosaki: No matter how dire the situation is,
I will survive!
And I will defeat you without fail!
I have the will of iron, and the strength of steel!

Dennis: I’ll commend you for your sheer willpower.
Is that what they taught you when you studied at a Pro Duelist school?

Kurosaki: How did you know that!?

Dennis: I know a lot about you.
Now then, why don’t I disclose some shocking truth to you?
Yup. It was back when I was in Heartland.

Dennis: It’s showtime!
Anyone want to volunteer to enliven this show with me?

Dennis: Since Trapeze Magician got his eyes on you, please allow me to Duel you!

Dennis: The spectators, both adults and children, were all smiling. (Egao Count: 74 + 1 = 75)

Dennis: But the fun was over the moment I found her.

Kurosaki: Hmm?

Dennis: It was truly terrible.
Even though I wanted to do more performance, the moment I found that girl, I…
I had to green-light the hunting game.

Dennis: I’ve been waiting for you. Yuri.

Yuri: Then, where’s the girl?

Dennis: She’s over there.

Yuri: A refugee camp, huh?

Dennis: Yeah. That place is also the Resistance’s base.

Dennis: There she is. That’s the girl with the bracelet.

Dennis: I’ll leave the rest to you.
Since she’s an acquaintance of mine, I can’t really lay a hand on her.

Yuri: Sure. It’s a job that the Professor entrusted only to me, anyway.

Yuri: What’s the matter?
You sure like playing tag, don’t you?
I would appreciate it if you don’t give me such a hard time.

Yuri: You want to do it?
You sure are a handful, you know that?
Okay, then, let’s do it.
If I win in this Duel,
You’ll have to do what I say. Okay?

Dennis: That girl’s name is Ruri, I believe.

Kurosaki: What did you say!?

Dennis: She’s your kid sister, right?
Pretty shocking, isn’t it?

{Chess Commercial. Brb}

Kurosaki: You scum…Why did you capture Ruri!?

Dennis: I was just following orders.

Kurosaki: So Ruri is at the Academia?
What are you people planning?

Dennis: I have no idea.
If you want to know, maybe you should skip this Duel and go to the Academia right now?
Before we come here, didn’t you scream about going to Academia alone to rescue Ruri?

Kurosaki: Yeah. I’ll go there.
After all, you scumbags sent my friends to hell, kidnapped my sister…

Yuto: …and robbed Heartland of its smile…! (Egao Count: 75 + 1 = 76)

Kurosaki: I’ll crush all of you!
It’s my turn!
I activate the Rank-Up Magic, Soul Shave Force!
I halve my Life, and Special Summon Revolution Falcon from the graveyard!
Then using it as a material, I Overlay it!
Valiant falcon.
Unleash the flames of rage,
And become the light that will scorch the earth!
Rank Up, Xyz Change!
Take flight! Rank-8!
Raidraptor - Satellite Cannon Falcon!

Melissa: W-wow!
Despite having no cards in his hand, he performed a miraculous draw that allowed him to evolve his Xyz monster!

Kurosaki: On behalf of my comrades, who were mercilessly hunted down by Academia and then sealed away into the cards that became their graves, I will erase all traces of your existence!

Kurosaki: I activate Satellite Cannon Falcon’s monster effect!
Once per turn, by detaching an Overlay Unit, I can reduce an opposing monster’s ATK by 800!

Dennis: Only 800?

Kurosaki: I can activate this effect as many times as the number of Raidraptors in my graveyard!

Dennis: What?

Kurosaki: There are five Raidraptors in my graveyard.
Do it! Satellite Cannon Falcon!
Unleash the rage of those who were hunted,
And incinerate everything with your flames!
The first one!

Kurosaki: What awaits you is the road of defeat and despair!
The second one!

Kurosaki: This is the sorrow of my sister, whose future was stolen away by you scum!
The third one!

Yuzu: Kurosaki’s rage is…

Dennis: I won’t let it end like this!

Melissa: Ahhhhh! Dennis failed to get an Action Card!

Kurosaki: This is the hatred of my one and only best friend, Yuto, whose road was blocked off before he could achieve his dream!

Yuya: Yuto’s hatred…

Kurosaki: The fourth one!

Yuto: Do you know what this feeling is?

Yuya: Yeah. I know.
I know. But…
Throwing your rage and hatred into a Duel like this…

Dennis: I’ll get it this time!

Melissa: Dennis has failed to get an action card again!

Dennis: Damn it!
I already threw away my Entertainer persona, and now the Action Cards are abandoning me as well!?

Kurosaki: No matter how much I scorch, the furious flames of my friends, who were sealed into cards, shall never burn out!

Yuya: Enough! Stop it!

Kurosaki: The fifth one!

Kurosaki: Battle!
Take flight, Satellite Cannon Falcon!
Attack Chaos Giant!

(Shun initializes Bahamut ZERO’s summoning sequence)

Melissa: Satellite Cannon Falcon is soaring toward the sky!
Going higher and higher!
It’s passed through the clouds, and even the stratosphere!

(Okay, are we sure we’re not playing Final Fantasy 7?)

Kurosaki: You shall receive the full force of my fallen friends’ rage!
Be gone!
Eternal Avenge!

Dennis: Kurosaki…you’ve won.

Melissa: I-it’s been decided!
The winner of the last match of the Friendship Cup’s first round is…Kurosaki Shun!

Melissa: Aahhh…
This surely is a huge mess…
What are we supposed to do after this!?
Sheesh…

Kurosaki: No matter how many people Academia have,
I will exterminate all of them by myself!

Kurosaki: Damn it!
Why can’t I turn him into a card!?
Did that guy…
Damn him…
He tampered with my Disk!

Jean-Michel: Secure Dennis MacField at once.

Kurosaki: Damn it!
Let go of me!

Serena: Dennis joined the Lancers to keep an eye on me…

Yuzu: Academia kidnapped both Ruri and Rin…
They’re looking for me and Serena as well.
Just what are they planning?

Gael: Where are you going?

Reiji: I’m going to see Dennis.
I have to confirm something…
What are you trying to pull?

Gael: We don’t want to blow this out of proportion.

Grey: We shall fight no one, and we shall ally with no one.

Azul: We want to maintain the status quo and order of the City as much as we can.

Bordeaux: Those are our wishes…Right, President?

White Taki: Indeed.
I would appreciate it if you don’t drag us into this troublesome Interdimensional War.
I hope you can understand our decision…

Yuya: Yuto.
Even though you were harboring so much rage and hatred…
You told me to make people smile with Dueling. (Egao Count: 76 + 1 = 77)
I’ll carry out your wish.
I will definitely put an end to the Interdimensional War with my Dueling!

(Preview for Episode 76)
Link to extended preview: http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/yugioh-arcv/trailer/index.html

White Taki: He’s probably not the only Academia agent.
Before he gets the chance to team up with another agent and cause trouble
We’ll take Dennis into custody.

Jean-Michel: Sealing away my power?
If these old fools are going to show that kind of attitude…
Then I guess I’ll have to take some drastic measures.

Yuya: Next time on Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V:
King’s Gambit
The fun has just begun!

Thank DMC3444 for the script!

[spoiler=Episode thoughts]

Ahh, I had a feeling that Dennis had something to do with Heartland being attacked and/or Ruri's capture. After all, he did know Yuri, so the latter was quite a possibility.

It seems as though Dennis really does enjoy Entertainment Dueling, but his allegiance put him into conflict with that style of Dueling. That's...actually pretty good, character wise, since it means he isn't really a true sadist by nature. It's a job that interferes with his hobby.

Even though it didn't work, I'm glad Shun at least TRIED to cardify Dennis, if only because that's something that would be in-character to do. Reiji having tampered with the Disk is also something he'd do, so no shock there.

I'm not sure exactly what Sora is doing in the Synchro Dimension. It's unclear if he's going to be the one that's supposed to meet with Dennis next episode (or if Yuri's supposed to), and he didn't do much in this episode to give insight into what he's doing, or even whether he's upset or not about the outcome. He might be disappointed that Dennis lost to Shun, but still think Sora has a rivalry with Shun. Their Dueling record is 1-1.

[spoiler episode 75]

- Wow. that was one of the best duels in ages. Like, on par with Shun vs Sora.

- The visuals were epic. Revolution falcon losing a wing and smashing into the stadium glass? Satellite cannon's attack? That was some end of 5Ds level crazy right there.

- So Dennis was instrumental in the capture of Ruri. Figures.

- Wonder why Ruri was always so sad, even before anything went wrong. Are we getting another Reira level tragic backstory?

- Yuri must be one hell of a duelist to so confidently take on the 4 Yuzus. Wonder when we'll get to see his cards.

On an vaguely related note, did the English dub ever end up airing? I remember the first 2 eps being shown at YCS, but haven't heard anything about it since.
