Just going to leave the link for 72 here, when it shows up in another 80 minutes:

http://www.gogoanime.com/yu-gi-oh-arc-v-episode-72

As for the Superheavy Pendulums, their Scales are reversed in the real game, but you still can't P-Summon other copies of them.

If Scales were 0/9, then yeah it would work, but they aren't. (Unlikely writers will give us a Scale 0 Pendulum)

[spoiler=Stuff from 72 >]

Yeah, Sawatari got creamed.

So much for his redemption.

[spoiler=72 thoughts]

Well, I suppose Sawatari has improved a fair amount, and got new stuff, even if he lost.

Then again, there was Yuya suddenly inside of Yugo's body + essentially dueling Sawatari himself.

Although, at least Yuya enjoyed the fight while it lasted.

It would appear that both of them were aware of Yuya's presence, as Yuzu definitely noticed.

Too bad Dark Rebellion didn't glow also.

Also, new Speedroid Synchro, so...

------------

It was a good match, but yeah Sawatari was kicking/screaming after he lost the match and got escorted off the field.

-------------

Nice episode though, even if politics in the Synchro Dimension are shitty.

[spoiler=Preview stuff]

Well, Gallagher gets another appearance; we forgot about him after episode 59.

Also, it would appear that Tony vs Sergey gets moved up.

That, or they're cutting the Shun vs Dennis match.

Yeah, Tony only mattered since he got caught by Roger during his escape attempt. Otherwise, he just...exists as a character for reasons.

Then again, Damon doesn't contribute much either. Only reason he's relevant is because he's related to Crow and Shinji.

He'll probably lose when it's his turn to fight.

Sergey is more important to the story's advancement that those two ever would be.

[spoiler=Thoughts on 72 RAW]

- Surprise surprise, Sawatari lost. Not like any of us saw that coming or anything. That being said he did earn praise from the crowds before being carted off kicking and screaming no less.

- Banana's new synchro is crap, sure it brought Sawatari's monsters into CWSD's effect range to push for game, but you can only do it during your turn.

- I thought it was interesting to see Yuya's presence inside Banana during the match after CWSD was summoned (reacting with Odd-Eyes) and it seemed that Sawatari and Yuzu noticed this.

 - Although it did put Yuya in a trance-like state and only came to after the duel ended.

- It was a good duel though, and if it weren't for the action card (aka plot armour) then Sawatari would've won.

Aside from that, it seemed that the D-Wheel segment was cut, so that they could talk about the competition for the 777th episode celebration.

[spoiler=Preview stuffs]

- So we have Gallagher appear again, forgot he was a person after the Shun/Dennis match in 59...

 - Speaking of, said match wasn't shown in the preview, probs because A: they want to keep us hyped or B: they put the other match ahead. Either way, that other match probs won't have much screentime because we know Sergey is important (and they probs don't want to show off his sheet early) and Shun/Dennis are relevant too.

 - According to the preview on the org, Gallagher lays down the laws of the labour camp and how you can get back to the surface

- Somehow Tsukikage escaped from the labour facility and is seen with Reiji and Reira

I just wanna say.

[spoiler=BS]THAT WAS BS.

Yugo BSed that win so hard, almost as bad (if not worse) than Yuzu did vs Chojiro. That racketball synchro isn't even good ;.;

While I agree it isn't a good card in general, it makes sense why Yugo would use it. Every duel we've seen him in he uses Clear Wing in his pushes for game, and this advances those while allowing him to clear his opponents board. It fits his strategy. Almost certainly will be buffed IRL though.

I'm weird. I actually liked that Duel. Not one of the best, granted, but it didn't SUCK.

Same, it could've have been better, but I believe Sawatari has redeemed himself slightly. His loss was obvious but still even being partially locked by Yugo managing to beat Clear wing was good of him, though the partial Yuya/Yugo fusion leading to the action card and comeback did lead to his defeat. Though Yugo getting a nice opening hand for Clear Wing did help him set up.

[spoiler=Time for weird theories]

The most important thing this episode isn't the duel itself, but showing us how Yuuya's trance works a little more. It seems it requires more than one counterpart and the other one will get a fuzzy memory of what happened during the trance afterwards. That makes me think Yuuya had outside help during the duel with Strong in episode 1. It is probable that Yuuya's Ritual counterpart is long gone from some incident Yuuya might not even remember, and it'd be that third thing that Meiru saw when peeking into Yuuya's soul. It can also explain why Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon was announced soon out of the blue. It'll probably link to why Yuuya got his pendant, (which could have been to help him endure whatever might come), with his dad's disappearance, and with why that hypothetical 5th dimension is so out of reach that it isn't even mentioned.

Someone is moving Yuuya's strings since episode 1, and I get the feeling it'll try to further justify why there has been so much emphasis on Yuuya's ideals of positive feelings and happy things: As to have him keep those in his mind in extreme situations because he might need them to counter whatever mindset that third thing inside of Yuuya might have once it fully comes out.

On another note, there's the possibility that Yuuri did know about Yuuya when Dennis mentioned it along with whoever's inside Yuuya other than Yuuto, but his "what are you talking about?" reaction might have meant something along the lines of ". . . the funk are you talking about, Dennis? I don't see no Yuuya, I only see [insert name of dark entity inside Yuuya] there".

Some of this is a bit of a long shot but let's see. What do you people think?

EDIT: Furthermore, it'd serve as a good excuse as to why Yuuri would have done the plots he's done. So I guess Fusion people were around enough for Yuuri to get the knowledge that Yuuya counterparts join together after something happens, so he might have planned to have Yuugo and Yuuto meet up and duel each other to see if he could also take on the loser and maybe then be more powerful than the winner and take him on as well, gathering more souls and therefore more power than Yuuya before going up to challenge him (which as we know didn't work out). At the same time, Leo would have started putting his plan in motion after that X incident as well. I'm yet to be able to create any theory that justifies Yuzu's counterparts though. Hers clearly don't work quite the same way.

[spoiler=Speculation]Considering the approach the manga is taking, and how the different Yuyas are essentially personality caricatures, I'm of the view that the 4 Yuyas are really parts of the same being that was split when the dimensions split. Yes, I do believe that the 4 dimensions all used to be a single dimension.

If this is true, the question then becomes what Yuya will we see when they merge together? A complete and wholesome Yuya with some sadistic tendencies kinda like what we saw in Yuya's trance state, or a rampaging monster like what we saw with Yuya vs Obelisk Force?  This also factors in the unknown entity that's trying to consume both Yuya's and Yuto's souls.

The Dimensional Dragons also seem to be some kind of link between the Yuyas in corporeal form, but in what way?  Also why do they invoke the "berserk states" of their Yuyas when they square off against each other, and is this tied to that unknown dark entity?

[spoiler=72 script] Last Time’s Egao Count: 70

Yuya: Everyone! Do you know what happens to the people who lose in the Friendship Cup?

The losers will be sent to an underground garbage processing facility!

(audience cheers)

Yuya: I tried to tell them about the dark truth behind the Friendship Cup,

But nobody listened to me.

Nini-Nana: The winner…

Yuya & Nini-Nana: …will be me!

Yuya: No. This isn’t what I want.

This is not the kind of Duel I believe in!

Yuya: Stop it!

You can’t send that guy to the underground!

Staff: Back off!

Yuya: Unhand me!

Get your hands off me!

(Opening Sequence)

Yuya: Why did I have to participate in a Duel like that?

Because of me, that guy will be sent to the underground…

Melissa: The next match of the Friendship Cup is…

Yugo vs. Sawatari Shingo!

Yuzu: Sawatari…

Dennis: That guy, huh?

SAWATARI-SAN: Not this crap again…Who the hell is this Shingo guy!?

When do I, the magnificent Sawatari Shingo, get to go out!?

Huh…Shingo…That’s me, isn’t it!?

Yugo: All right, all right, all right, all right!

I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment!

Just watch, Rin.

I will definitely win this, and fulfill my promise with you.

Yugo: Oh yeah.

I might as well tell everyone about the Interdimensional War on Yuzu’s behalf.

Melissa: Thank you for waiting, everyone!

It’s finally time for our Duelists to make their entrance!

Yugo: Hell yeah!

Melissa: First off, is Yugo!

Melissa: Following after him is Sawatari Shingo!

SAWATARI-SAN: The wait is over!

The true star of the Friendship Cup, Sawatari Shingo, has arrived!

Random Dude 1: Who the hell are you!?

Random Dude 2: True star my ass!

Random Dude 3: We don’t even know who you are!

Random Dude 4: Ah! Don’t make eye contact with me!

Yuzu: Yugo…

SAWATARI-SAN: A fired up audience…boiling with anticipation in their seats…

This is truly a stage made for me!

I’m not gonna be happy if you do poorly in this Duel!

Yugo: Right back at ya!

SAWATARI-SAN: Hah! You’d better be able to back up your words.

Melissa: They’te getting intensely fired up before the Duel even begins!

Well then, let’s kick this thing off!

Action Field, on! Field Magic! Cross Over Accel!

D-Wheel: Duel Mode. On. Autopilot. Standby.

Melissa: Riding Duel…Acceleration!

DUEL!

Yugo: I’ll take the first turn!

SAWATARI-SAN: Whoa! Ahhh!

Melissa: He overtook his opponent!

The one who seized the first corner and the first turn is Sawatari Shingo!

SAWATARI-SAN: That was dangerous…

Yugo: Not bad!

SAWATARI-SAN: Did you see my awesome riding technique?

But the real show starts here!

This will be the grand opening of my Entertainment Theater!

I’ll show you the best performance ever!

It’s my turn!

Using the Scale-3 Underworld Troupe – Extra and the Scale-8 Underworld Troupe - Funky Comedian, I set the Pendulum Scale!

With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Level-4 to 7!

Pendulum Summon!

Come on out, my servants!

First off, Underworld Troupe - Big Star!

And Underworld Troupe - Sassy Rookie!

Melissa: Sawatari Shingo has opened his Entertainment Theater with a Pendulum Summon!

Yugo: Looks like you’re not just a simple loudmouth, after all.

SAWATARI-SAN: Let’s heat things up, shall we?

Using Big Star’s effect, I can add an Underworld Script from the deck to my hand

And activate it! Underworld Script - Opening Ceremony!

This card can increase my Life Points by 500 for every attack position Underworld Troupe monster on my field!

I have two monsters, so, I’ll gain 1000 Life Points!

I’ll end my turn with this!

SAWATARI-SAN: All right, it’s your turn!

Yugo: I’ll go all out as well!

It’s my turn!

When I have no monster on my field, I can Special Summon this card!

Come on out! Speedroid Beigomax!

When I have a WIND monster on my field, I can Special Summon this card from my hand!

Come on, Speedroid Taketonborg!

And then, I normal summon the Tuner Monster, Red-Eyed Dice!

I’m tuning the Level-3 Beigomax and Taketonborg with the Level-1 Red-Eyed Dice!

Spread your beautiful and majestic wings

And strike down our enemies at light speed!

Synchro Summon!

Come forth! Level-7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!

Melissa: Yugo has already Synchro Summoned!

A Level-7 with 2500 ATK!

That’s a pretty strong monster!

Reiji: Yugo…

SAWATARI-SAN: A dragon, huh? There’s no foe more fitting!

Sawatari Entertainment Theater’s programme for today is: Slaying the Dragon!

I’ll strike it down in one fell swoop!

Yugo: Try it if you can!

I attack Sassy Rookie with Clear Wing!

SAWATARI-SAN: I activate Sassy Rookie’s monster effect!

Once per turn, I can negate its destruction!

Yugo: But you’ll still receive damage!

I set two cards facedown and end my turn!

Melissa: Even though Sawatari Shingo has increased his own Life, it was cut down right afterwards!

Can he keep his seat as the main actor as this rate!?

Yuya: Odd-eyes…

SAWATARI-SAN: It’s my turn…Draw!

Hmph…this kind of damage is nothing…

As long as I have Pendulum Summon,

I, Sawatari Shingo, will be the main actor of my Entertainment Theater!

Yugo: With Clear Wing as the target, I activate the Continuous Trap,

Dragon's Bind!

Due to its effect, my opponent cannot Special Summon monsters with ATK lower than or equal to Clear Wing’s original ATK!

So, you cannot Pendulum Summon monsters with ATK lower than or equal to 2500!

SAWATARI-SAN: You’re sealing off my Pendulum Summon!?

Yugo: Then, with Clear Wing as the target, I activate the Continuous Trap, Chasing Wings!

With its effect, Clear Wings cannot be destroyed by battle,

And when it is attacked by a Level-5 or above monster,

That monster will be destroyed, and Clear Wing will gain ATK equal to its ATK!

SAWATARI-SAN: So If I attack you,

Not only will I not destroy your monster,

But my monster will also be destroyed while yours gets a power-up!?

Yugo: With this, my field is all set up.

The one who will be slayed is you!

SAWATARI-SAN: Not bad.

After all, if the villain is not strong,

I won’t be able to get fired up!

From my hand, I summon Underworld Troupe - Pretty Heroine!

Yugo: You normal summoned a Level-4 monster in desperation, huh?

But you can’t defeat Clear Wing with that monster!

SAWATARI-SAN: Are you sure about that?

Even if I can’t destroy Clear Wing through combat, there’s still a way to take it down!

If I use Big Star’s effect, I can add Underworld Script - Fantasy Magic to my hand,

And use it to return my opponent’s monster to the hand!

SAWATARI-SAN: The true star of this Entertainment Duel is me!

I activate Big Star’s monster effect!

Yugo: At this moment, I activate Clear Wing’s monster effect!

When a Level-5 or above monster on the field activates its effect,

I can negate that effect and then destroy it!

Dichroic Mirror!

SAWATARI-SAN: Damn it!

Yugo: Clear Wing can seal the effects of Level-5 or above monsters!

Yuya & Yugo: Clear Wing is more than enough for you…!

Yuya: But if I win, Sawatari will be sent to the underground…

Heh? If I win?

SAWATARI-SAN: I activate the Continuous Magic, Underworld Stage Prop - Escape Stage Coach!

You think I’ll go down so easily?

Tactical retreat is a very valid strategy, after all!

Melissa: Whoa! The Heroine and the Rookie are running away!

Yuya & Yugo: You won’t get away!

(Chess Commercial. Brb)

Melissa: The dragon’s terrible fangs are closing in on the escaping Pretty Heroine and Sassy Rookie!

What will be their fates!?

Yugo: There’s no escape!

Just give it up!

SAWATARI-SAN: Oh, you can go to hell!

You evil dragon user!

You pawn of evil!

I end my turn here!

Yuya & Yugo: During the End Phase,

Dichroic Mirror’s effect will go away.

Yugo: Its ATK will return to normal.

It’s my turn!

I attack Pretty Heroine with Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!

With this…

Yuya & Yugo: …He’ll receive 1000 damage.

Melissa: The foul and evil dragon chose to skip the knight and went straight for the heroine!

SAWATARI-SAN: I activate the effect of Underworld Stage Prop - Escape Stage Coach!

SAWATARI-SAN: Once per turn, it can protect an Underworld Troupe Pendulum Monster from destruction by battle!

Yuya & Yugo: But you will still receive damage!

SAWATARI-SAN: Since I have received damage, I can activate Pretty Heroine’s effect!

Once per turn, I can reduce the original ATK of an opposing monster by the amount of total battle damage!

Melissa: In other words, Clear Wing’s ATK will fall from 2500 to 1500!

Yugo: Huh!?

Yuya: Huh!?

SAWATARI-SAN: You thought that I won’t be able to do anything?

Take this!

Yuya & Yugo: Clear Wing’s effect activates!

Yugo: When a Level-5 or above monster is targeted by a monster effect,

Yuya: I can negate that monster’s effect and then destroy it!

Yugo: Dichroic Mirror!

SAWATARI-SAN: Escape Stage Coach’s other effect!

Pretty Heroine, who has been targeted by it, will also be protected from my opponent’s Magic, Trap, and monster effects for this turn!

SAWATARI-SAN: Since Clear Wing’s ATK is decreased,

The effect of Dragon’s Bind is also weakened!

Meaning I can Pendulum Summon as many monsters as I can, if their ATKs are above 1500!

You’re the one driven into a corner this time!

Melissa: What a great reversal!

Just when we thought Sawatari Shingo has been cornered, he turned the tables and drove Yugo into a corner!

Yuzu: Yugo…

Yugo: You’re pretty good, aren’t you?

Yuya: But I won’t be defeated so easily!

Yuya & Yugo: I end my turn!

SAWATARI-SAN: Even if you realize how awesome I am now, it’s already too late.

Here comes the final act of Sawatari Theather!

It’s my turn!

Using the already set Pendulum Scale, I Pendulum Summon!

Be revived from the Extra Deck! Big Star!

Melissa: Big Star has entered the stage once again!

SAWATARI-SAN: Furthermore, I activate the Pendulum Effect of Funky Comedian!

By adding Underworld Troupe - Big Star to the Extra Deck,

Sassy Rookie will gain ATK equal to its ATK until the End Phase!

I attack Clear Wing with Sassy Rookie!

Since Sassy Rookie is Level-4, Chasing Wings’ destruction effect won’t activate!

Melissa: Yugo took 2700 damage in one go!

SAWATARI-SAN: And then, by using Pretty Heroine’s effect, I can reduce the original ATK of Clear Wing by the amount of total battle damage!

Melissa: Oh my! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon’s ATK has become zero!

SAWATARI-SAN: Let’s settle this!

You only have 1300 Life left.

Pretty Heroine’s last kiss shall be the end of you!

Melissa: Is this the end of the line for the cornered Yugo!?

SAWATARI-SAN: All right, let’s deliver the climax!

I attack Clear Wing with Pretty Heroine!

Yuya: An Action Card!

Yuzu: Eh!?

Melissa: Yugo got an Action Card!

Yugo: I activate the Action Magic, Miracle!

A battling monster cannot be destroyed by battle,

And the battle damage is halved!

Melissa: He managed to survive!

Yuzu: Y-Yuya?

SAWATARI-SAN: The curtains haven’t fallen yet, huh?

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a hot-blooded Duel like this!

But I’ll make this clear,

I am still the true star of Entertainment Dueling!

I’ll settle it in the next turn!

I end my turn!

Melissa: Yugo barely managed to hold out,

But his remaining Life is a mere 550!

Is there any way for him to retaliate!?

Yuya: There is!

Yuya & Yugo: If I have that card…!

Yugo: It’s my turn!

Draw!

Yuya: Draw!

Yugo: Here it is!

I summon Speedroid Double Yoyo from my hand!

When this card is summoned, I can Special Summon a Level-3 or below Speedroid monster from my graveyard!

I’ll Special Summon Red-Eyed Dice!

SAWATARI-SAN: A Synchro Summon, huh?

It’s a bit too late for the supporting actor to make his appearance, don’t you think?

Yuya: I’m tuning the Level-4 Double Yoyo with the Level-1 Red-Eyed Dice!

Yugo: Body with shining twin wings,

Fly through the sky with these wings!

Synchro Summon!

Come forth! Level-5! High-Speedroid Mahagoita!

I release Mahagoita, and grant an effect to every monster on the field!

SAWATARI-SAN: Granting an effect?

Yugo: Yeah.

When the Levels of all monsters on the field change, they will gain an additional Level!

SAWATARI-SAN: Hah, that won’t help.

It’s all over for you.

Yugo: No, it’s all over for you!

Yuya & Yugo: The fun has just begun!

Yugo: I activate the Magic Card, High Speed Re-Level!

I banish a Speedroid from my graveyard!

The Levels of all monsters on the field will be the same as the banished Mahagoita’s Level!

Melissa: All the monsters have become Level-5!

Yugo: And due to Mahagoita’s effect, they will gain an additional Level!

SAWATARI-SAN: You released Mahagoita and granted that effect to every monster for this!?

Yuya: Clear Wing’s effect activates!

Yugo: Since Pretty Heroine and Sassy Rookie’s Levels are above 5, their effects will be negated and they will be destroyed!

Dichroic Mirror!

Yugo: The ATKs of the destroyed Pretty Heroine and Sassy Rookie are 1500 and 1700, so Clear Wing will gain 3200 ATK!

Yuya & Yugo: Go! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!

Attack Sawatari Shingo directly!

Hell Dive Whirlwind Slasher!

Melissa: It’s decided!

What an intense Duel, filled with reversals on top of reversals!

The one who triumphed in the end is Yugo!

Yuya: Hah?

Yugo: I did it!

I’ve conquered the first round!

I got a bit too fired up though.

Hmm…

Huh?

I feel like there’s something I should’ve told everyone…

Oh well, whatever.

Yuzu: I could sense Yuya in Yugo…

SAWATARI-SAN: Damn it!

I was so close!

Random Dude 1: That was great, Sawatari!

Random Dude 2: Sawatari Theater is the best!

Random Dude 3: Ah! Look over here, will you?

Random Dude 4: That was fun!

Random Fangirls: Sawatari-san!

Melissa: Take a look at this! The Duel between those two had heated up the atmosphere in the stadium!

SAWATARI-SAN: Hey!

Yugo: Huh?

SAWATARI-SAN: What are you doing?

You have to respond to the audience as well!

Can’t you hear it? Everyone’s cheering us on!

Our Duel made a lasting impression…Ah.

You…Now that we’re up close, you look a lot like Yuya.

Yugo: Hah?

I guess you can say so.

SAWATARI-SAN: No…you look just like him.

You two are like two peas in a pod, even.

Staff: That’s enough for today.

Come on, let’s go.

Yuya: Sa-Sawatari…

(Preview for Episode 73)

Gallager: This place is hell on earth!

Those who lost on the surface,

Those who’ve been abandoned,

And all those good-for-nothings who are no longer useful

All fell into this place!

No matter where you go, the City is a competitive society!

Those who lose in battles will only be kicked further down the food chain!

So dig! Keep digging! Dig for the City’s sake!

Yuya: Next time on Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V:

The Crawling Losers

The fun has just begun!

[spoiler=Ep 72 Duel Error]So... there appears to be an error in the dialogue somewhere if that script is 100% accurate.

Yugo: With Clear Wing as the target, I activate the Continuous Trap,
Dragon's Bind!
Due to its effect, my opponent cannot Special Summon monsters with ATK lower than or equal to Clear Wing’s original ATK!
So, you cannot Pendulum Summon monsters with ATK lower than or equal to 2500!

...

So there's one of three possibilities:

  1. SAWATARI-SAN can't even win by cheating.
  2. Yugo can't read his cards.
  3. The writers forgot about the word "original".

Yeah, the Underworld Troupe card reduces original ATK, which is theoretically possible, but very rare to see in the real game. Most cards that affect original ATK either set it to a specific value, or double/halve it.

Honestly, I really enjoyed Sawatari in this Duel. He seems much more credible a Duelist than his out-of-Duel behavior makes him out to be, and he was entertaining to watch again.

He honestly shows what the Entertainment style should be about and his deck actually helps do that. Compared to Yuya's deck which becoming more and more focused around a quick defeat. Ever since Yuya and Yuto fused it is like Sawatari and Yuya have switched the way their decks function, Yuya going from entertaining to more raw strength, while Sawatari going from strength to entertaining. I think eventually Sawatari will end up like what some characters were to Jaden, like Kaibaman and the tag duel between Jaden/Alexis vs Hassleberry/Blair. A character which help steer Yuya back to the path of entertainment when he strays from it.

Just watched le subs

[spoiler=Thoughts on 72 Subbed]

- Banana said before the duel that he'd talk about the dimensional war seeing as Yuzu didn't herself, shame he forgot all about that when he synchronised with Yuya during the duel.

- There is one error I noticed whilst watching the subs, when Sawatari used Pretty Heroine's eff the first time; Banana said "When it's targeted by the effect of a level 5 or higher monster..." when it should've been "When a level 5 or higher monster is targeted by a monster effect". Funnily enough, the script had it right.
