[spoiler=Response]

I guess you're right. But technically they could have given him another Utopia since somehow 39 repeats itself 3 times (Utopia, Roots, Beyond). But anyways I feel like I'm derailing here so I'll just move along. A new Odd-Eyes to me is always welcome. I wonder what kind of effect it'll have. If its like its anime counterpart it will have some sort of aggressive effect.

[spoiler=Response]

To be fair, they did give Utopia manga exclusive evolutions in teh form of Number S (Utopia Prime and Utopia the Lightning), so there's that.

I'm also sure that OE Phantom Dragon will have its own evolutions to differentiate it from OEPD, as well as having cool art.

[spoiler=about the manga]

It's not a new things to have the protagonist play different ace from the anime (GX introduces a whole new set of E-HEROes and they practically re-invented the signer dragons for 5Ds manga.)

It's nice to have manga for Arc-V as well - meaning lot more pendulum(-inspired) cards, and something i noticed, they always make those darker than what you're used to seeing in the latest series. DM had Hell(shadow realm, lol), mind crushing, dark duels, death, soul obliteration and abduction, something that was toned down and/or downright removed from its successors , but is still prominent in all the mangas. As for anime - all the Evil things villains have access to now is deception, overpowered cards and brainwashing + minor fractures from solid vision violence.

The manga Utopias weren't bad at all really (bar Utopia Zexal). It was his downright stupid anime versions that drove me insane. But anyways with a name like Odd-Eyes PHANTOM Dragon, it would be funny if he got darker and became something like Death Dragon (then Konami tears apart his name). But reality of it is that Phantom looks cool and I'm wondering what his effect will be to see if it corresponds with his deck theme. On a side note, this does probably mean everyone else's aces have changed too right?

To be fair, Yuma's constant spamming of Utopia in the anime pissed everyone off.

On the subject of everyone else, I'm sure Sawatari has a different deck completely, the others may have manga exclusive bosses for their decks from the anime.

Sawatari's deck has me interested for the sole purpose of he might have something COMPLETELY original because his ass can't seem to stick to one deck for the writers to base off of. I'm mainly interested though in Reiji and Yutos bosses since like the Signer Dragons, Yutos boss has to be different and the same goes for Yugo and Yuri if and when they decide to show up. Reijis doesn't have to be different but if we learned anything from the past its that if the main characters is different, their rivals is different.

With Reiji's deck, we've seen him use D/D monsters (like Proud Ogre) in that manga one-shot a while back, but yeah he'll have a different boss.

As for Sawatari, no doubt it'll be different, though I reckon he'll stick to that one deck.

[spoiler=Chapter 1 script]

Narrator: In the near future, Solid Vision with mass was developed, bringing about the age of Action Dueling.
However, nobody has noticed...
That the world is already heading toward a future of ruin...
And the Pendulum of Fate has begun to swing...

(Cuts to Shuzou Duel School)

Shuzou: Believe in yourself!
Believe in the future!
I believe in you!
After all, we’re only humans!
Listen up, everyone! This is Shuzou Duel School’s motto…Gah!

Yuzu: How can you act so cheerfully right now, Dad? Take a look at the reality around you!
We have to pay the rent and utility bills for this place, you know!
We’re in the red this month, too!

Yuzu: If no student ever enrolls, we’ll go bankrupt at this rate!!

Shuzou: I-I get what you’re saying…

Yuzu: No, you don’t…!

(Cuts to Yuya/Yuto meeting a kid)

Yuto: What’s the matter?

Kid: I overslept…So, even if I went to see Leo Corporation’s Duel Tournament, it would already be over by now.
I didn’t get to see these real monsters.

Yuto: Leo Corporation…

Kid: I wanted to see a dragon so badly…!

Yuto: I see. If it’s Leo Corporation’s Duel tournament, they would use Real Solid Vision for the monsters…

Yuya: We can’t leave a crying kid alone, can we? I guess it’s my turn, then!

Yuto: Hey, hold on!
What are you planning to do?
We’re being pursued, you know…!

Yuya: Let’s do something about this!

Yuto: Why do you get to do whatever you want…!

(Yuya switches with Yuto, and summons Phantom Dragon. Then, cuts to LDS)

LDS Employee: This is an emergency!
The mass sensors within the city have detected something!
According to the results of our analysis, it’s Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon!
Restrain the target!
A figure resembling Phantom is heading northward on the building’s rooftop!

Reiji: Odd-Eyes.
You’ve finally showed up, Phantom!!

Reiji: Send out the Special Squad!
Capture Phantom at once!

Yuto: What did I tell you!?
This big ruckus happened because of you!

Yuya: Hey, it can’t be helped! There was a crying kid!
Making everyone happy is an Entertainment Duelist’s mission…my mission!

(Cuts to Yuzu, looking at a notebook)

Yuzu: Ha…
Just looking at the deficit is enough to make me dizzy!

Shuzou: I’m sorry…

Shuzou: What’s with the noise?
Those are…Leo Corporation’s helicopters!?

Yuzu: This must be it, Dad!

Shuzou: W-what?

Yuzu: You don’t know? There’s an Entertainment Duelist who’s been hacking Leo Corporation’s Solid Vision these days!
His alias is Phantom!!

Yuzu: He’s an Entertainment Duelist who wants to make people happy!
If we recruit him as an instructor, and pay him 450 yen per hour…

Shuzou: H-how cheap…

(Translator's note: 450 yen is roughly 3.7 US dollars. That’s lower than the minimum wage in the US.)

Student 1: I want to enroll in this school!

Student 2: I don’t care how much you charge us!

Yuzu: Ah…I’ll be one happy gal!
Wait for me, Phantom!

Shuzou: Y-Yuzu!?

(Cuts to Sawatari and others)

SAWATARI-SAN: No. 2! Go around No. 1 ! We’ll catch him with a pincer attack!
No. 3 will capture him from the sky!

Kurosaki: Who died and made you boss…

Sora: Tch…Even though I want to fight as well…
But still…Sending this many people after a mere hacker is just overkill…
What are you thinking, President Akaba?

Reiji: Phantom…his identity is the “Factor of Fate” that holds our future…
Sakaki Yuya!!

Yuya: Oh…Here they come!

Yuto: Stop being so happy-go-lucky!

SAWATARI-SAN: Give it up, Phantom!! No, Sakaki Yuya!
There’s no escape for you!
I shall be your opponent!

Yuto: It can’t be helped…
Guess I’ll have to show my face…

Yuto: Too bad for you guys, I’m not Sakaki Yuya, the person that you’re looking for!

Reiji: What!?

Yuto: As you wish, I will be your opponent!

Text: Phantom! Who exactly is he…!?

Thank DMC3444 for the script

Well, that helps since I can't read moonrunes.

[spoiler=Thoughts]

So Yuya's a hacker in this series; cool.

You Show/Shuzou being in the red; can't say I blame them. Remind me if they were already broke at the start of the anime.

In this case, they want to make Yuya an instructor, but pay him less than $4/hour.

Yeah, that's less than half of what we can get in the states; right now, it's about $8-9.

But that supposedly got students to come in, which is good, I suppose.

Yuto/Yuya know each other from the start; hmm, that's interesting.

Yuya being paid £2.35 an hour? He might as well be hired as an apprentice. Actually, that's less than the minimum wage for an apprenticeship.

Also

[spoiler=What I saw on the wiki]

Yuya uses Odd-Eyes Saber in the next episode? I certainly didn't see that coming whatsoever.

[spoiler=Raw 70]

This episode was Ok, the quality of the animation weren’t that great, but the overall plots was good. Most of Serena’s duel was skipped and she only showed one new card. Tony used a zombie deck, it was nice to see the classic Archfiends again, and the animation for the trap hole was pretty cool. Sawatari was being himself (as usual) and complained about everything else beside him. I really like how the episode compares the way Yugo and Yuzu ate their foods (Yugo man, it was adorable seeing you eat your food XD). Jack’s whole backstory was interesting and very inspiring, and man Sam you misunderstood Jack so much. It was funny to see Duel Chaser 227 sobbing (poor you, hope you have a chance to redeem yourself in the near future.) Jean is confirmed to have some connection with Academia. Next episode looks promising, and Saber Dragon looks amazing!

I kinda feel sorry for the female MC this episode, all she is trying to do is to unite the people of the city and common, but everyone just blanked her XD. At first I thought the MC didn’t know about the existence of the underground labour, but in reality she knew about it all along, and she is ok with it….Wow I thought you will be the first tops that actually cares for the common, but turn up you are just like the rest of the tops, greedy and treat the commons like dirt :[

[spoiler=Episode 70]-Serena wins against Tony, which is not that surprising.
-Backstory on how Jack got Tuning Magician is revealed. We still don't its effect.
-So the Duel Chaster who'll duel Yuya in the next episode receives a Fusion Monster. This is interesting.
-So now "Hyugo" is "Hugo" and "Shun" is "Syun". Good job, ARC-V Staff. You never fail to amuse me.
-Like everyone predicted, Shun and Dennis will get their rematch after Yugo (presumably) kicks Sawatari's ass.

The Preview
-I didn't really expect Odd-Eyes Saber Dragon to make a debut in anime, especially since you need Odd-Eyes Dragon to Summon it. I guess it'll have a new summoning condition in anime or Yuya will somehow get back his original Odd-Eyes. Actually, I just noticed that its not necessary to have Odd-Eyes Dragon to summon Saber Dragon. My bad.

[spoiler=Episode 70]

I guess Rogers red-eyed hitmans name is Sergei. So I'm guessing he's Russian? But also in the next episode we find out that Yuga DOES have Odd-Eyes Saber Dragon! I'd be willing to bet that Saber Dragons cost to summon is not Odd-Eyes Dragon but 1 Odd-Eyes monster instead. This to me is HUGE because Saber Dragon is one of the elemental Odd-Eyes. Also it probably means he also has or will have the others. Jack seemed either surprised or disturbed to see Saber Dragon though. Other than that the episode seemed pretty normal. Does anybody wanna see a Reiji vs Jack duel now?

[spoiler=Thoughts on 70 RAW]

Surprise surpise, it's another talky episode.

- So most of the Serena/Tony duel was skipped apart from the FINAL TURN where she showed off her new Fusion. I liked how they showed Bottomless in this episode though tbh, and as for Tony... why does he have 3 Archfiend Zombie Skulls? It's the worst of the 3 PSZ Synchros.

 - Not surprised that Serena won though tbh.

- It was interesting to see the comparison between the ways that Yugo and Yuzu eat.

- Well.... we FINALLY get confirmation of the Shun/Dennis rematch, not that it surprised anyone tbph.

- DC227 gets a fusion huh (Specifically Goyo Emperor)? I guess that confirms JMR's connection with the Academia then as he gave an Synchro archetype a fusion.

- I said it on the previous page and I'll say it again. I certainly did not see Yuya using Odd-Eyes Saber Dragon at all tbph.

[spoiler=Episode 70]

Oh sheet. DC227 was given a FUSION?! In a dimension where Fusion doesn't exist...

And if it turns out he really is associated with Academia, this is sort of confirming my theory that Academia can literally produce their own Fusion cards, because it'd be a Fusion for an archetype of Synchro monsters, which the Fusion Dimension doesn't have, either.

Ooh, Shun will rematch Dennis. That should be interesting.

[spoiler=70 script]

Last Time’s Egao Count: 67

Yuya: The third match of the Friendship Cup.
During her Duel with Tokumatsu-san,
Yuzu tried to motivate me with her performance.

Yuzu: The fun has just begun!

Yuzu: Battle! I attack Ameshikou with Prodigy Mozart!

Yuzu: Go! Burning! Hot-Blooded!

Yuzu: Well? Pretty shiver-inducing, no?

Yuya: Those were clearly messages directed toward me.

Yuzu: Yuya. You’re watching this, right?
You are not alone.

Melissa: The match is over!
The jaw-dropping and thrilling Duel has concluded!
The winner is Yuzu-chan!

Yuzu: Yuya. I did it. I gave my all.

(Opening Sequence)

Yuya: I’m sure Yuzu must be thinking that I’m still depressed about my defeat to Jack…
No, not just Yuzu. Tokumatsu-san tried to cheer me up, knowing full well that he’ll be sent underground to do forced labor if he loses…
Thank you both. Yuzu. Tokumatsu-san.
I’ve received your feelings…

Melissa: The splendid Duel between Yuzu-chan and Enjoy Chojiro has united 200,000 spectators into one!
This is truly the spirit of the Friendship Cup!
See? We can all get along!
All right! Let’s go into the next match with this spirit!

SAWATARI-SAN: All right, bring it on!

Yugo: Yuzu fought already, so I’ll be next for sure!

Melissa: The last match of the Friendship Cup’s first day is:
Serena vs. Tony!

Yuya: Serena!

Yuzu: Serena!

Melissa: Right after Yuzu-chan, we have another female Duelist: Serena!
And a new face from the Commons, Tony Simons!
I’m looking forward to this match as well!

SAWATARI-SAN: It’s still not my turn!?

Dennis: Guess I’m not going out today.

Yugo: Then, I might as well spend the entire day sleeping on this comfy bed.
Ahhh...I’m not in the mood to Duel right now.

Shinji: Alright! I’m counting on you, Tony!
Rile up the Commons and cause an uproar!

Jean-Michel: It’s not your turn to fight that girl yet, huh?
Hehe…That match can wait.
If she is as skilled as I think, she should have no problem making it to the next rounds.
She’ll probably even advance to the finals.
Her popularity will go up for sure.
Then, you will crush her.
And Jack Atlas, as well.
Thoroughly crushing two popular and skilled Duelists will certainly send a shockwave throughout the City.
That is your mission.
I’m counting on you, Sergey.

Yuya: If Serena loses, she’ll be sent underground…
This is just ridiculous!
I won’t accept this!
They call it the Friendship Cup, and yet, they send the losers to the underground…
They know about it, but they still allow it to happen!
I have enough of this, Council!
I know you can hear me!
Cancel this tournament right now!
Don’t make a show out of us!

Melissa: The crowd is going wild over Tony and Serena’s intense battle!
This is certainly a fierce battle, fitting for the last match of today!

Random Dude 1: Beat her, Tony!

Random Dude 2: Serena-chan! You’re the best!

Melissa: Tony currently has 3000 Life, and Serena has 2500!
Can she make a reversal this turn?

Serena: It’s my turn!
I summon Moonlight Purple Butterfly!
Then, I activate the Magic Card, Polymerization!
I’m fusing Moonlight Cat Dancer and Moonlight Purple Butterfly together!
Beautiful beast who dances under the moonlight!
Poisonous purple butterfly!
Spiral into the moon’s gravity,
And be reborn with new power!
Fusion Summon!
Come on out!
Elegant beast who dances in the moonlit plain!
Moonlight Panther Dancer!

Melissa: It’s here!
Serena has Fusion Summoned once again!
Yuzu-chan also did it as well,
So is Fusion Summoning something that all new-generation female Duelists use?
Wait, don’t both of them have the same face?
Are they sisters or something?

Jean-Michel: Ho…Sisters, huh? I see…

Tony: I activate the Trap Card, Bottomless Trap Hole!
When my opponent summons a monster with 1500 or more ATK, that monster will be destroyed and banished!

Serena: Pointless!
Moonlight Panther Dancer cannot be destroyed by my opponent’s card effects!

Tony: What!?

Serena: Moonlight Panther Dancer can attack every monster twice!

Tony: Attacking every monster twice!?

Serena: Battle!
I attack Undead Skull Daemon with Panther Dancer!

Tony: I might have taken damage, but you won’t be able to destroy it!
I’ve already won!
I activate the Equip Magic, Undead Heart!
If the equipped monster battled a monster with higher ATK, I can inflict damage equal to the equipped monster’s ATK during the end of the turn!
That’s 2500 damage!
Your remaining Life is exactly 2500!
Too bad for you, you couldn’t destroy it with your first attack!

Serena: True, I couldn’t destroy your monster with the first attack.
But that’s just the first blow.

Tony: Say what!?

Serena: Go, Panther Dancer!
Attack Skull Daemon one more time!

Serena: It can destroy your monster with its second attack!
At the same time, Panther Dancer gains 200 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase!

Tony: Then, it can attack my second monster with 3000 ATK twice, and my third monster with 3200 ATK twice...

Serena: Exactly!
By the time I’m done with my attacks, your Life will be gone!
So, you’d better say your prayers!

Shinji: Tony…

Melissa: And the second monster will be destroyed with the second attack!
The last monster will be destroyed by the second blow, as well!

Reira: My brother values Tsukikage more than me…

Melissa: The winner is Serena!
Counting Hiiragi Yuzu, this is the second time a female Duelist has won!
Well? Did you see that, gentlemen?
The age of female Duelists has arrived!

Jean-Michel: Gender has nothing to do with it.
What matters to Duelists is the training that they receive.
She most likely received top-tier training.
She won’t betray our expectations.

Yuya: Serena…

Melissa: And with that,
All scheduled matches for the Friendship Cup’s first day have been settled.

Yuya: (sighs)

Melissa: Everyone! You had fun, right?

Melissa: Alright, that’s great, then!
Well then, why don’t we end this by saying the motto one more time?
The City is one…huh?

Random Dude: Okay, the exit is over here!
Walk orderly! Don’t push!
Walk orderly! Don’t push!

Melissa: Hey! We’re all friends, right?
Stick with me till the end, damn it!

Yuya: This tournament’s slogan is just a lie…
Why do they call it the Friendship Cup if they’re just going to send the losers to the underground!?
Serena won, but Tony will be…
Tony will be sent underground since he lost.
This is just wrong!
I won’t accept this!
This entire tournament is just wrong!

Yuya: But what can I do right now?
No matter how loud I yell, the Council is not going to do anything…

Gael: That’s one win and two losses for the first day.

Grey: The last match managed to preserve their honor somewhat.

Azul: That Hiiragi Yuzu girl who won the other match…Is she a Lancer as well?

Reiji: It’s true that she is also a Duelist from Standard, just like us.
Her skill is certainly on par with my Lancers’.

Bordeaux: In that case, even if we include her, that’s two wins and two losses.
Considering that you’re here to defend our dimension, I’m a bit concerned…
You would be concerned, too, right, President?

White Taki: Exactly.
Oh well, I’ll look forward to tomorrow.

Reiji: I appreciate your kindness.
Then, we’ll take our leave.

White Taki: No need for that.
Since we’re done with all the matches for the tournament’s first day, why don’t you stay for dinner and chat with us?
I invited a special guest as well.

Reiji: And who would that be?

Gael: As everyone knows, he’s standing at the top of the Dueling world.

Grey: A person who is far more skilled than your Lancers.

Azul: The pride of our City.

Bordeaux: The Duel King.

White Taki: Yup. He’s our guest.

Reira: Ja-Jack Atlas…

(Chess Commercial. Brb)

SAWATARI-SAN: Why do I have to put up with this…
I, the magnificent Sawatari Shingo, the ace of LDS, the Top Duelist who reigns over the Lancers…why didn’t I get to enter the stage on a day as important as the tournament’s first day!?
You think I’m just going to accept this load of horse crap?
Of course I won’t!
Just you wait.
I’m going to fire all the people who run this tournament with my papa’s power!
Huh?

SAWATARI-SAN: Well, since you offered a splendid feast to me, I’ll let it slide.
But you’d better let me fight tomorrow!
So that the world can see my glorious visage!

Yugo: This is delicious!
This is the first time I’ve eaten such excellent meat!
I knew applying to the Friendship Cup was the right choice!
I bet Yuzu is thanking me right now!
Though, didn’t she enter the tournament to tell everyone about the Interdimensional War?
And yet, she didn’t say a word about it during her Duel…
Instead she just went, “Hot-Blooded!”, and then, “Shivers!”.
Well, whatever. I’m gonna get my chance to shine tomorrow!
So delicious!

Yuzu: I did all I could in that Duel.
But I still don’t know whether I properly conveyed my messages
And cheered Yuya up.
If only I can meet and talk to him in person…

Yuya: I don’t know what I can do right now.
But I can’t just mope around like this.
Yuzu and Tokumatsu-san tried so hard to cheer me up, so I have to do something…

JACK: Your dueling is nothing more than self-satisfaction!

JACK: It’s anything but Entertainment!

Yuya: Is this what Jack wanted to say?
Don’t do it for yourself, do it for others’ sake…
No, that’s not it!
There’s not a shred of kindness in the way he Duels.
How can he call that true entertainment…
To me, Dad’s Dueling is true entertainment after all…
True entertainment is about making both your spectators and your opponents smile… (Egao Count: 67+1=68)
Isn’t that right, Dad?

Gael: Do you think that Hiiragi Yuzu is the best among the Duelists who fought today, King?

JACK: Aside from her skills, it seems like she wanted to tell something…

Azul: It certainly seemed that way.

White Taki: Enjoy Chojiro also put up a pretty good fight.
Their Duel was quite splendid, indeed, Hohoho!

Grey: Probably because you took a liking to him.

Azul: Quite a shame that he lost.

Bordeaux: We’ll probably never see him—Ahem. Please excuse me.

JACK: That boy was on the list as well.

Reiji: Please forgive me.
Due to certain circumstances, another person had to fight in his place.

White Taki: The Ninja named Tsukikage, right?
Though, it seems like you have some expectations for him…

Reira: Tsu…Tsukikage.

JACK: I’ve wanted to see that boy’s Dueling.

Reiji: Reira’s Dueling?
Might I ask why?

JACK: I used to have the same terrified expression in his eyes…

JACK: Back then, I lived in constant fear and was always on edge.
Up until I was just about that boy’s age, too.

Reiji: I see. I know this might be rude, but I’ve heard that you were originally a Common…

JACK: No, that’s not rude at all.
It’s because I was born a Common and lived through hell that I was able to find the determination to climb up and aim for the top.
I’m proud to have been a Common.
Perhaps this boy has also grown up under circumstances similar to mine?

Reiji: As expected from the King.
You have a very sharp intuition.

White Taki: Heh? Is that so? Isn’t that boy your brother…

Reiji: It might be rude of me, but I want to ask how you started to walk on your path toward becoming the King of Duelists.
Reira can probably learn a few things from you.

JACK: Uh-huh.
It all began with one card.
That card fell from the higher level of the City, where the Tops reside.
Perhaps someone dropped it by mistake…
Or perhaps someone threw it away because it’s no longer useful…
It’s most likely the latter, though.
I picked up that card, and even though it’s not valuable,
The moment I saw it,
I was able to realize something. It was just like an epiphany.
This is what I thought.
I have to return this card to that world in the sky once again…
By my own hand…
In order to do that, I have to become stronger.
As a person, and as a Duelist.
I have to become stronger than everyone.

JACK: I heard that you guys came from a foreign country.
I won’t ask why you have your friends participate in the Friendship Cup.
But if you want to accomplish something…You must not falter!

JACK: You’re called Reira, right?
I’ll look forward to being able to see you making your own decisions and fighting gallantly.

Reiji: This is certainly an honor.
I’m sure Reira would appreciate the Duel King’s kind remarks, as well.

Sam: U-Um…
I have a letter addressed to you…

227: T-this is from the Director…!

Jean-Michel’s letter: It’s been a while, No. 227.
No. Since tomorrow is your special day, I’ll address you using your former title, Duel Chaser 227.
According to the schedule that I received, you will fight Sakaki Yuya in tomorrow’s first match.
It’s quite a shame you didn’t get to fight Yugo, the person who humiliated you…
But I want you to crush Sakaki Yuya by any means.
If you do a good job and defeat him, I will restore you to your former position.

227: I knew the Director wouldn’t…he wouldn’t abandon me!
Because I lost to that Yugo brat, I… I was…
I was demoted to a Common,
And got hunted down by my former colleagues like a criminal!
Just went I was arrested and thought that I was going to be sent to the Detention Facility…
They dragged me to this penthouse instead!
Now I understand why!

227: Please watch my match, Director.
I definitely won’t let you down this time.
I’ll win with this card!

Yuya: The Dueling style that I’m aiming for is Dad’s Entertainment Dueling style, after all.
I won’t accept Jack’s Dueling.
I won’t accept the Friendship Cup, either.
A tournament where you have to trample on others’ future and happiness in order to win is just wrong!
I’ll have to tell everyone about this!

(Preview for Episode 71)
(New Egao Record: 68)

Yuya: Everyone! Do you know what will happen to the loser of this Duel?
The loser will be forced to do labor in a garbage processing facility!

Melissa: Hmm…Is there any problem with that?
Isn’t that just how it works?

Yuya: “That’s just how it works”!?
This is wrong!

Melissa: Yuya. You just have to win!

Yuya: Next time on Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V:
The Silver Blade
The fun has just begun!

[spoiler=I would've done this earlier if internet wasn't being crap]

I would've really liked to see Serena vs Tony in full. instead of having it be cut.

At least she won though.

We now know who that guy behind Roger is by name; that, and he's slated to fight that Damon guy.

Looks like we get our Shun vs Dennis rematch after Yugo's fight with Sawatari.

DC227 apparently gets a redemption fight, and a new card.

Needless to say, he must be overjoyed at that fact. (And I though Roger fired him after he didn't defeat Yugo)

Also, backstory on Jack.

So apparently, Tuning Magician [it kind of looks like her] flew down to him from the Tops district, and that was the catalyst to making him rise to become King.

(Going back to when Jack gave it to Sam in that flashback, that's probably why he gave him that card. It represented the drive that got him there)

----

In all, episode was okay; might've liked it if it wasn't a cut-off duel.

(I've not read the script yet)

[spoiler=Sergei...]

I was pretty sure Jean-Michel's shadow figure person was an ambassador from the Fusion Dimension, but seeing it now, it seems like he's just a drone, kind of disappointing, would have liked more villains, and characters in general that have their own thought process and drive and not just being puppets, friendship chanters or 'egao' believers.

So.., after Yuri (Юрий), we have another evil Russian-named character. What a surprise :D

This isn't spoilery now: When was it revealed that Dennis will duel Kurosaki again? I've watched ep.70 at least twice and the last few eps before it a few times more and didn't found any clue that it is a fact. Can someone quote/screenshot something?

The other matches were shown, Sawatari vs Yugo, Yuya vs DC227 and Damon vs Sergey. Leaving only Dennis and Kurosaki as the remaining duellists.

[spoiler=70 sub thoughts]

Well, we have Yuya having a fit about how the Friendship Cup is structured.

That, and his belief that his father's dueling is appropriate entertainment; Jack's isn't.

Yeah, Jack thinks Reira had similar circumstances (and it is theoretically true from the flashback, except Reira was essentially a puppet).

Otherwise, more Sawatari complaints/empty threats with his father's authority.

Also Roger/Melissa Claire thought Yuzu/Serena were siblings.

Both of you are incorrect; they're dimensional counterparts so that's why they look alike.

(Although yes, Yuzu did learn Fusion from Sora, who is from the Fusion Dimension)

----

Roger's up to backdoor crap again with that new guy.

In terms of Entertainment Dueling, which character's version fits you better: Yuya's or Jack's?

im mostly torn between the 2 based on how im feeling at the moment

,but i can say that yuya's style is more fun while jack's much cooler (if that makes any sense)

Yuya's started off good but his deck is less becoming an entertainment deck and more of a OTK deck, and the further along the series he goes the less chance of it remaining a entertainment deck is low in a way. It could still function when he obtained Fusion and Xyz, but then Odd-Eyes Rebellion came around, giving him his main game winner. Buy the time he gets Synchro and Synchro Pendulums even less chance of it remaining entertaining and after absorbing Yuri (if it happens) not much at all. Until it is revealed what the "darkness" is inside Yuya (probably something to do with the Dimensional Dragons) and he can do something about it, his berserk side and any other alternate personalities (though maybe after absorbing Yugo he becomes more of his normal shelf while Yuri would increase his berserk side from his seemingly sadist personality) Yuya can't be a true entertainment duellist. So Jack is the one who just fits better.

[spoiler Odd-eyes Theory]

Wasn't there a theory about the odd-eyes monsters that would end up in the show? The odd-eyes monsters either have red & green eyes or red & blue eyes. It seems that only the ones with green eyes end up on the show. Even Odd-eyes Saber Dragon (whose other eye isn't shown on the card) was shown with a green eye in the preview. The more you know...

That said, I'm not as surprised at seeing Saber as I would be from seeing Meteorburst or Vortex or one of the others show up.
