mshends
[spoiler=So then]That means 2 incomplete tournament arcs. Will we never see a champion. [spoiler=Response]Yep, Arc-V writers sure love the ideas of incomplete tournaments :pThe lancers really need to invade fusion when they're doing their own Genex tournament. ~British Soul~
[spoiler=Response to potential future spoiler]Y'know what, I wouldn't be too surprised if the Fusion dimension attack cancels the Friendship cup like they did with the Maiami Championships. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Arc-V never has a completed tournament. It would only be a matter of time before the Fusion Dimension learned that their targets are in Synchro. evilfusion
[spoiler=Episode]That Level 7 Synchro had better damn have an effect forcing attacks onto it, because I'm annoyed so much by that outcome. I get that Crow was "supposed" to win because he's probably supposed to be a Lancer in the end, because they're looking for skilled Duelists, but he Dueled in a really weird way this time, and I was under the impression he Dueled poorly because he was distracted as hell. Gogenzaka attacking the Level 7 Synchro rather than OTKing annoyed me, so again, there better be a reason why he didn't swing for 4200 damage. And then he delayed the winning attack SO LONG. Yeah, character backstory and whatnot, but ugh... EDIT: Ooh, next episode, Reira was supposed to fight against Shinji, but didn't want to. So that's how the ninja ends up in the tournament. Timeline15
[spoiler the episode]- so I'm really the only one who's happy that Crow beat tomato-nosed elvis tribute act man? If you're upset because someone won using crap cards, you must have been fuming during 80% of yugioh episodes. :/- It was also refreshing to have someone's obligatory distraction episode NOT causing them to lose. We already get to many where something like that causes a loss.- Bit rubbish that crow's lvl 3 synchros seem to force you to treat them as tuners. Must be different in the show, since he couldn't synch with them then. Why not just leave them optional. besides that they didn't seem that bad to me, but I freely admit that I have zero knowledge of the competitive game, so I concede that they're probably rubbish.- So Reira won't duel Shinji, so Tsukikage goes in his place? Damn. That means when Shinji inevitably wins, Reira will technically be out. No more C/C/Cs for us :(

mshends
[spoiler= 66 script]Last time’s Egao Count: 66 Melissa: Well then, here come the Duelists who shall fight in the opening match!Crow Hogan and Gongenzaka Noboru! Yuya: Gongenzaka? Yuzu: Gongenzaka? Dennis: Gon-chan? SAWATARI-SAN: Why does he get to go first!?The opening match should have been adorned by my glorious aura! (Took a little bit of liberty with this line, because Sawatari is just too fun to work with. ^^) GONGENZAKA: I, Gongenzaka the Man, shall demonstrate the strength of the Lancers! Crow: I don’t want to put up a show for these guys…But if I’m forced to do it, I might as well try to win.I will win…And show my kids that we Commons can achieve anything if we try! Some dude in green suit: Why do we have to work on this day? This just plain sucks! Some other dude in green suit: You can say that again! Some other dude in green suit: Hmm?Go ahead. Amanda: That was easy. Frank: Uh-huh. Tanner: Hey! Be more careful, will you? Some other dude in green suit: What’s up with him? Some dude in green suit: Hmm?Hold it right there! Some dude in green suit: You damned brats! Frank: Run for it! Amanda: Quickly! Tanner: W-wait! (Opening Sequence) Melissa: All right! The City’s biggest Duel event, the Friendship Cup, has finally kicked off!Who shall triumph in the opening match?Crow, or Gongenzaka? Tops lady: Atlas-sama is the Tops’ hero!Don’t lump him with your group! Commons 1: The King can kiss my ass! He’s just a traitor! Commons 2: Jack is the Commons’ hero! Melissa: Hey!Come on, listen to what I have to say! GONGENZAKA: What on earth is wrong with the audience? Melissa: Whatever! I’m just going to start things off!Action Field, on!Field Magic, Cross-Over Accel! D-Wheel: Duel Mode, on. Autopilot. Standby. Crow: Frank! Amanda! Tanner! What are they… Melissa: Riding Duel…Acceleration! DUEL! GONGENZAKA: Whoaaa…. Melissa: Crow Hogan is falling behind! Crow: Are they here to cheer me on?Why do they have to be so reckless…? GONGENZAKA: AAAARRRGGHHH…. Melissa: Will Gongenzaka be able to take the first corner!? Yuzu: He’s running into the wall! Crow: I have to end this quickly. Melissa: The one who passed the first corner and got the first move is Crow Hogan! Random dude 1: Why are you supporting Jack?He betrayed you! Random dude 2: What’s that!? Melissa: Sheesh! I’m tried really hard to make you all fired up, you know! Some dude in green suit: Stop running around! Crow: It’s my turn! When I don’t have any cards on my field,I can special summon Black Feather - Gust the Backblast from my hand! And when there is a Black Feather on my field,I can special summon the tuner monster, Oroshi the Squall, from my hand! Crow: I’m tuning the Level-2 Gust the Backblast with the Level-1 Oroshi the Squall!Fly with your jet-black wings and pierce the heavens!Synchro Summon!Show yourself! Assault Black Feather - Kuniyoshi the Fogbow! GONGENZAKA: You’re Synchro Summoning this soon in the game?As your opponent, I respect your skill. GONGENZAKA: What’s going on?What are you looking for? Crow: Once per turn, Kuniyoshi the Fogbow can send a Black Feather from my hand to the graveyard…And deal 300 damage to my opponent! Melissa: Crow Hogan is already dishing out damage on the first turn with his monster’s effect! GONGENZAKA: No. I must focus on the Duel. Crow: Then, I summon the tuner monster, Black Feather - Blizzard the Far North! When this card is successfully summoned, I can special summon a Level-4 or below Black Feather from my graveyard in defense position!I special summon the Black Feather - Jet the Blue Sky that I sent to the graveyard!I’m tuning the Level-1 Jet the Blue Sky with the Level-2 Blizzard the Far North!Fly with your jet-black wings and slash through the heavens with a flash of light!Synchro Summon!Come forth!Assault Black Feather - Kunisada the Fogbow! GONGENZAKA: Two Synchro Monsters…But their ATKs are only 1000.They’re not a threat right now. Crow: Once per turn, Kunisada the Fogbow can return a Level-3 or below Black Feather in my graveyard to my hand…And until my next draw phase, I can add that card’s ATK to the ATK of all Synchro Summoned Black Feathers!I’m going to add Blizzard the Far North’s 1300 ATK to their ATK! GONGENZAKA: 2300 ATK!? Crow: I cannot battle on the turn I activate this effect.I end my turn! Shinji: What’s wrong with you, Crow? Why are you in such a rush? GONGENZAKA: My steadfast spirit won’t falter at something so trivial like this!It doesn’t matter what you throw at me! Crow: Where are they? Where are they right now?Don’t tell me they’ve already been captured… GONGENZAKA: He’s looking at the stands again! GONGENZAKA: Hey! Where are you looking? We’re in the middle of a Duel!Fight against me seriously, will you!?That’s just basic dueling etiquette! GONGENZAKA: It’s my turn! Draw!I summon Superheavy Samurai Jisha-Q from my hand! When this card is successfully summoned, I can special summon a Level-4 or below Superheavy Samurai from my hand!Come forth! My second Jisha-Q! GONGENZAKA: When Superheavy Samurai Jisha-Q is on the field, my opponent cannot attack other monsters besides it!And when I have two copies of Jisha-Q on the field, they will protect each other from other monsters’ attack, so you cannot attack either of them! This is the steadfast tactic I have chosen!I end my turn! Crow: What a bothersome tactic. Crow: It’s my turn! Draw! Melissa: Kunisada the Fogbow’s effect has ended, returning his monsters’ ATKs to normal! Crow: I activate the effect of Kuniyoshi the Fogbow!I send Black Feather - Harmattan the Sandstorm from my hand to the graveyard…And deal 300 damage to my opponent! GONGENZAKA: He’s doing that again? Melissa: Crow Hogan is steadily cutting down his opponent’s Life Points! Crow: I summon Blizzard the Far North!Using Blizzard the Far North’s effect, I special summon Harmattan the Sandstorm from my graveyard! GONGENZAKA: With Kuniyoshi the Fogbow’s effect, he can send a Black Feather to the graveyard to deal effect damage…And then he can use Blizzard the Far North’s effect to promptly special summon the discarded Black Feather. It’s essentially a flawless tactic. Crow: Let’s make this quick.Harmattan the Sandstorm can add the Level of a Black Feather on the field to its Level!I’ll choose the Level-3 Kuniyoshi the Fogbow!Spread your jet-black wings,And charge through your enemy with thunder!Slash through the lightning!Synchro Summon!Rain down your attacks on them!Assault Black Feather - Raikiri the Sudden Shower! GONGENZAKA: Three Synchro Monsters!? Crow: Once per turn, Raikiri the Sudden Shower can destroy as many of my opponent’s cards as the number of Black Feathers on my field! GONGENZAKA: He can’t destroy the Jisha-Qs in battle, so he’s going for a destruction effect instead, huh? Crow: There are three Black Feathers on my field!I’ll destroy your two Jisha-Qs! Melissa: Gongenzaka’s immovable shield has been destroyed! Crow: I attack directly with Raikiri the Sudden Shower! Yuzu: Raikiri the Sudden Shower’s ATK is 2600!If he takes this attack, he’ll only have 800 Life Points left! Melissa: It’s an Action Card!Action Cards are Magic Cards that are scattered throughout the Duel Field! Will Gongenzaka use that to avoid damage? (Chess commercial. Brb) Crow: I attack directly with Raikiri the Sudden Shower! Melissa: It’s an Action Card! Will Gongenzaka use that to avoid damage? He ignored it! Crow: What!? Yuya: Gongenzaka! Melissa: Gongenzaka didn’t use an Action Card, and took a massive 2600 damage! Gael: Isn’t using Action Cards your style? Reiji: This is his style. Crow: What’s he doing? GONGENZAKA: I commend you for being able to destroy my immovable shield! However, when I have no Magic or Trap cards in my graveyard,If I received damage from a direct attack,I can special summon this card from my hand in defense position!Show yourself! Superheavy Samurai Kokorogama-A! Crow: That’s why you didn’t use an Action Card? However, its DEF is only 2100.I can end this in the next turn!Wait for me. Frank. Amanda. Tanner.I end my turn! GONGENZAKA: It’s my turn! Draw!Using the Scale-1 Superheavy Great General Hisu-E and the Scale-8 Superheavy Great General San-5,I set the Pendulum Scale! With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Level-2 to 7!Pendulum Summon!Come forth!Tuner monster, Superheavy Samurai Horaga-E!Superheavy Samurai Kagebo-C! That one guy in the audience: He special summoned two monsters at the same time! That other one guy in the audience: He can use Pendulum Summon as well!? GONGENZAKA: Once per turn, Superheavy Great General Hisu-E can increase the Level of a Superheavy monster on my field by one!I’ll increase Superheavy Samurai Horaga-E’s Level to 3!I’m tuning the Level-3 Superheavy Samurai Kokorogama-A and Superheavy Samurai Kagebo-C with the Level-3 Superheavy Samurai Horaga-E!Be as unyielding as a mountain range,Spirit who dwells in a giant stone!Become a fortress that towers over everything!Synchro Summon!Come forth!Level-9! Superheavy Demon Beast Kyu-B! (This monster’s name is too similar to Kyubey’s name, and I don’t like that. Still a cool card, though. /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\) Yuya: From Pendulum to Synchro? SAWATARI-SAN: That bastard! How dare he evolve without my permission! He even made the audience fired up as well! That one guy in the audience: Way to go, Gongenzaka! Random lady: This guy is not bad, either. Melissa: No way! Everyone is getting fired up!?All right! Gongenzaka is going to begin his counterattack! GONGENZAKA: For every special summoned monster on my opponent’s field, Superheavy Demon Beast Kyu-B’s DEF will go up by 900!There are three of them, so it’ll go up by 2700! Crow: 5200 DEF!? GONGENZAKA: Furthermore, this card can attack while in face-up defense position, with its DEF value being treated as its ATK! Crow: It can attack in defense position!? GONGENZAKA: However, it can only attack the monster with the highest ATK on my opponent’s field!I attack Raikiri the Sudden Shower! Melissa: Crow Hogan received 2600 damage in one go! GONGENZAKA: This match is already decided.Superheavy Great General San-5’s Pendulum Effect is activated when a Superheavy monster destroys a monster in battle. It will destroy itself, which allow Superheavy Demon Beast Kyu-B to attack one more time! Crow: He can attack one more time!? sheet…If only they were in defense position… GONGENZAKA: Kyu-B’s current DEF is 4300.If I attack the 1000 ATK Kunisada the Fogbow, you’ll take 3300 damage! This is the end! Crow: Are you sure about that? You won’t know until this match actually ends! GONGENZAKA: No. I know too well. When you Duel, you don’t just fight against your opponent, but also against yourself!A person who harbors unrest in his heart won’t be able to defeat me! Crow: There they are! Amanda: Frank! Crow: Run! Frank: Let’s go! Dude in green suit: Get back here! GONGENZAKA: Is that why you were distracted?Who are these kids? Crow: At first, I thought that I’m just going to kick them out after giving them a meal, but… Crow: Slow down, will you!?The food is gonna get stuck in your throat!Hey! Are you all right? Amanda: Tanner! Amanda: Look! You got a mustache! Frank: Amanda, you got one as well! Amanda: Right back at you, Frank! Frank: Me too? Amanda: Ahahaha! He got a mustache! A mustache! Frank: Don’t laugh at me! You have one, too, don’t you? Amanda: You got a mustache~! You got a mustache~! Crow: Come on, guys… Crow: I haven’t smiled for many years… (Egao Count: 66+1=67)In the end, I just let them stay with me. Crow: If they weren’t there, I don’t know what would have happened to me.That’s why I want to be a model for them. That’s why I agreed to participate in this tournament,So that I can win it, and show them that we can achieve anything if we try! GONGENZAKA: Become a model…Then, if I defeat him… Tanner: Do your best, Crow! Frank: We’re all fine and dandy! So just do your best, Crow! GONGENZAKA: Crow Hogan! You want to be a model to these kids, right? Then, show me everything you got in this Duel!Isn’t showing your true dueling skill to those kids what you should do right now!?All right, come at me, Crow! I won’t hold back, either!I destroy Superheavy Great General San-5, allowing Kyu-B to attack one more time!Go! Superheavy Demon Beast Kyu-B!Attack Kunisada the Fogbow! Melissa: Is this the end!? Crow: I activate the Action Card, Evasion! It negates a monster’s attack! Melissa: Crow Hogan managed to get out of his pinch with an Action Card! GONGENZAKA: Your riding technique is quite splendid. But all of your monsters’ ATKs are only 1000.You cannot defeat Superheavy Demon Beast Kyu-B.I end my turn.During my end phase, when Superheavy Great General Hisu-E is the only card in the Pendulum Zone, it will be destroyed. Crow: 4300 DEF…It’s my turn! Draw!I activate the Magic Card, Against the Wind!I add the Blizzard the Far North in the graveyard to my hand, and receive damage equal to its ATK! GONGENZAKA: You took a huge risk by damaging yourself.I commend you for your daring spirit! Now, face me, Crow! Crow: I summon Blizzard the Far North!I activate Blizzard the Far North’s monster effect!Show yourself! Jet the Blue Sky!I’m tuning the Level-1 Jet the Blue Sky with the Level-2 Blizzard the Far North!Brandish your jet-black blade, and resonate with your wings!Synchro Summon!Show yourself! Assault Black Feather - Kunifusa the Fogbow! GONGENZAKA: Since there’s another Synchro Monster, Superheavy Demon Beast Kyu-B’s DEF is increased! Crow: When Assault Black Feather - Kunifusa the Fogbow is Synchro Summoned using a Black Feather as material, it can be treated as a tuner! GONGENZAKA: What!? It can be treated as a tuner!? Crow: I’m tuning the Level-3 Kuniyoshi and Kunisada with the Level-3 Kunifusa!Spread your jet-black wings and cut through the storm clouds!Become the sword that split the heavens apart!Synchro Summon!Descend!Assault Black Feather - Kusanagi the Gathering Storm! GONGENZAKA: He Synchro Summoned using three Synchro Monsters!? Melissa: Crow has Synchro Summoned once again!Since the number of Synchro Monsters has decreased, Kyu-B’s DEF will also go down! Frank: Way to go, Crow! Tanner: Go for it! Crow: Here I go, Gongenzaka! Until the end phase of the turn it is Synchro Summoned,Kusanagi the Gathering Storm can add the ATKs of the Black Feather Synchro Monsters that were used as materials to its ATK! GONGENZAKA: 6000 ATK!? Crow: Battle! I attack Superheavy Demon Beast Kyu-B with Kusanagi the Gathering Storm! GONGENZAKA: However, if you attack Kyu-B while it is in defense position, I won’t take any damage! Crow: When Kusanagi the Gathering Storm attacks a defense position monster, it can inflict piercing damage! GONGENZAKA: What!? Dennis: Gon-chan! Melissa: The match has been decided! The winner of this very Climactic opening match is Crow Hogan! Amanda: He did it! Tanner: Crow won! Crow: A monster that can attack while in defense position…That was a pretty scary monster! The kids: Crow! Dude in green suit: Well done, Crow! Frank: Crap. Let’s get outta here, Amanda, Tanner!
