Yeah, or they wanted to make Yuya look like an idiot by getting him riled up over defeating Jack quickly, and forgetting his own card effects.

But at least they showed him reflecting on what happened, so hopefully he learns from that experience.

We shall see if he indeed improves during the course of this tournament.

Kinda pissed that the writers seem to have forgotten about the Magicians' Pendulum effects.

They didn't. Yuya fused his Odd-Eyes, so no Pendulums were attacking. And Yuya fused his Odd-Eyes because he focused more on winning ASAP and didn't realize he had a much safer way to win. As he later acknowledged - he disregarded Jack's Set card. Rune-Eyes was theoretically more reliable to win the Duel that turn than Odd-Eyes, since it could attack twice on a 3000 body.

The writing is deliberately showing that Yuya misplayed because he didn't stop to think things through. It's actually pretty rare to see misplays handled in a way that isn't incredibly stupid (IV vs Shark GRRRRR).

An observation about Jack and RDA-Scarlight after marathoning the first half of season 1 of Japanese 5Ds for several hours.

From that, there were certain instances when RDA's attack name wasn't Absolute Powerforce [literal fireball throwing], but rather Scorching Crimson Hell Flare (which is almost identical to Scarlight's attack, bar the last part).

So yeah, I suppose that's where it came from in this case.

------

I'm doubting that Crow will have a retrained version of Black-Winged Dragon when he duels next week (or in the future); probably not going to happen, but we'll see.

Besides a misplay, are we sure that Yuya XYZing and Fusioning wasn't completely intentional? What I mean is, wasn't he doing his Entertainment Duel; wasn't he simply trying to demonstrate all the (non-synchro, non-ritual) summon methods?

When I saw the episode, I wasn't thinking "oh, this is definitely his best play.", I was more thinking "huh, all the summon methods in one episode, that's cool."

Had he stopped at DRXD, and still done the ATK-quartering of the Anime effect, Odd-Eyes and Trump Girl could kill Jack over Red Wyvern ("Treason Discharge!! x2" 2400 / 4 = 600 | "SPIRAL STRIKE BURST!!" 2500 - 600 = 1900 | "REACTION FORCE!!!" 1900 x 2 = 3800) and a direct attack (3800 + 200 = 4000) assuming Trump Girl was a Pendulum as well. We all understand this. Even Yuya understands this after Ep65, shall we move on from the duel to something else? Like maybe how convenient it is that the rooms for both Yuugo and Yuuya are far enough away that Yuzu's bracelet beeps the warning but can't warp them away to Standard/Xyz/Fusion/Crow's house?

Red Daemon's has a name for its effect and other for its attack. Almost all monsters in the Japanese version follow that pattern.

I know i'm derailing the topic from misplays and such, but well... what keeps me pondering is who will win/lose during the first round. we have 16 participants in the friendship cup and over 2/3 of them are precious lancer babies. It would be cool to have them winning, but at the same time it'd be lame to show all the Synchro dimension lose in their own tournament... (i have a feeling Shinji might be a diamond in the rough, seeing how they kept him away from duel scenes and given him more than generic looks).

1/2 of these are bound to get sacked, here are my guesses

  1. Yuya - Solid for finals (Protagonist privileges)
  2. Yuzu - Why not play agains your counterpart? Battle of the best fusion :D
  3. Hyugo - Yuya's next soul-absorption victim ;( Solid for finals.
  4. Gogenzaka - would be nice to win (and get more support in the next pack, enough with the BWs)
  5. Sawatari - eh, i have a suspicion they will use him as sacrificial lamb for either Shun or Selena
  6. Crow - i don't like his current dimensional counterpart and how they fused him with Martha (5Ds)
  7. Shinji ... he's too mysterious...
  8. Random Officer Guy - yay, more generic Goyo cards (sarcasm)
  9. Reira - kids playing card games on motorcycles doesn't seem safe. wth is Reiji thinking!?
  10. Selena - would be nice to see her play something else than those 2 monsters and that Fusion one.
  11. Chojiro - i think his important role and entertainment use both expired.
  12. Kurosaki - Semi-final solid. Golden Bird Baby
  13. Dennis - golden entertainment baby.
  14. Tony - that guy reminds me of the 'shivers' kid so i'd be glad to see his a** whooped.
  15. Tsukikage - i like that character and it would be sad if he loses to Yusei... i mean Shinji.
  16. Daemon - some irrelevant ethnic-diversity character.

After checking it over, I heard Melissa Claire say "nijuu-man", which means 200,000. [20 x 10,000 = 20 0000]

Probably the subbers missed that part when they got the episode dealt with.

1. Yeah, blame main character privileges for that.

2. We'll see if she survives, but maybe.

3. Probably will make it

4. Let's see how the writers make him do against Crow

5. Probably, but he'll likely be the first to lose.

6. Crow will probably advance past first round or something; depending on how his S/T pool and monster pool stand against high DEF monsters.

7. We'll have to see, given no Deck of his was shown.

8. If it's Security, they're more than likely to have Goyo cards. Whether or not we see them, I don't know. (Hell, it would've been nice to get the Duel Chasers ones in Highspeed Riders, but Konami didn't)

9. We already had Rua and Ruka playing on D-Boards against a Machine Emperor, so that shouldn't be anything new. Although they are a bit older than Reira, so I don't know if it's an appropriate comparison. (Then again, Reira didn't necessarily do anything, bar stealing Ayu's monster, making Fusion and winning; that, and off-screen victories)

10. Yeah, that's true

11. He might not make it, given Cardians are very much luck-based.

12. He has potential for that.

13. Same as above, although we'll see.

14. I don't know; maybe some filler.

15. More Ninjas would be nice.

16. Filler

So I was sitting around and my mind sort of started wandering away from me and I was just thinking, why do these dragons hate each other?

-It is said these dragons remain loyal to their owners unless needed to depart.

-It is said when the appropriate conditions are filled, they almost forceably summon themselves.

-It is said they have the ability to travel dimensions to find each other.

-it is lastly stated that they WISH to fight each other.

Any thoughts on why?

I merged it, so don't worry about it.

But in the future, britannic, just keep anything related to ARC-V (including the Dimension Dragon theory) in this thread.

It shouldn't go too quicky to warrant making a separate thread.

To be fair, this is the 3rd time that Britannic has made a seperate thread relating to Arc-V, ofc the other two were locked.

Meh, I haven't been paying them much attention.

Roxas and Mugen dealt with those, if search check serves anything.

Eventually we'll see Yuri's Fusion Dragon, but given the plot revolves around Synchro right now, we're not getting a glimpse of it for another few months.

All we know is it'll be a 25/20 Dragon Fusion Monster that ends up as pack cover (presumably); what its actual effects entail is anyone's guess at the moment.

Sorry for the different thread issue, just wanted to make a thread that was void of other involvement of topics like Jack or episode after episode. I just thought it would be smarter to post it separately as the post would've talked about just those dragons but none theless , thank you Sakura.

But does anybody have any idea on Yuri's dragon? I heard rumors months ago that it was Imperial Claw Fusion Dragon but I haven't anything since.

[spoiler=This week's Manzai]

Yuya: Your Duel with Crow is going to start soon! Crow’s Black Feathers vs. Gongenzaka’s Superheavy Samurais…I wonder how this match will turn out!?

GONGENZAKA: Before we crossed the dimensions, I made a vow to my father. I swore that I will stick to my Steadfast Dueling style no matter what!

Yuya: That’s going to be pretty difficult, considering that you’re having a Riding Duel with Crow.

GONGENZAKA: I WON’T EVEN MOVE A STEP, NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY!

Yuya: Then how are you going to perform a Riding Duel? You will have to move…

GONGENZAKA: WHAT!? NOOOOOOOOO! I’m sorry, FATHERRRRRRRRR!

@britannic: Aside from the usual things that we can probably assume it'll be (and a general appearance), nothing else has been released regarding its identity.

Consider the fact that Yuri hasn't shown up since episode 47-ish, so we won't be finding out that info for a while.

About the manzai, Gongenzaka can still perform his duels; just don't draw Action Cards.

@Sakura: Yuri and Yuya must have something in their decks that are relatable, if Yuya is to eventually get the Fusion Dragon that is. The writers are just taking too damn long to reveal it.

But yeah it would be funny too watch Gong sit in the middle while watching a D Wheel go around him in circles. I'd get dizzy as funk.

As you know by now, we're in the Synchro Dimension arc, so Yuri would make no sense here.

We have no clue on how long the Friendship Cup will be; may last for another month or so before the Synchro Dimension concludes + the Academia re-emerges.

Aside from his dragon, we have no idea of what type of Deck Yuri plays. aside from it being Fusion related for obvious reasons.

[spoiler= Spoiler on what is going to happen at the end of the Friendship Cup]

Friendship Cup is going to be interrupted by an attack from Fusion. (LOL)

Source: Victory Jump Carnival

That sounds entirely.............plausible.

It would be a way for the screen writers to not have Jack lose while at the same time letting the Synchro dimension know of the threat. And hey, maybe THEN we'll see the Fusion Dragon. The anticipation of what the hell it is is killing me dammit.
