Yusei was really boring.

I mean, they gave him a sad backstory, but all he was in the end was just Atem, an equally boring protagonist who spends virtually every waking moment either saying things relevant to advancing the story, or something about friendship. And, it's not like he started off a flawed character who grew into boring Atem. Flashback scenes show that even in a street gang, he was always a friggin' boy scout.

Yusei beat up some security guards in one episode. Okay?

He doesn't ram them during riding duels at any other point in the series in an attempt to gain an advantage. Kind of why riding duels were wasted potential.

He's praised as being a genius in-show, but can't figure out how to side against something as subpar as Meklords like Bastion Misawa did against HEROes (Skill Drain? Really Eternal Rest? Kinetic Soldier?) Seriously, his first plan was to use his Synchro deck to not Synchro.

And that's the problem with Yusei. He doesn't have enough of a character for a 150+ serialized TV series. He starts off perfect to the point that the writers had to force the idea that almost (keyword) losing a card game...is traumatic and causes nightmares...? I get Kiryu and his jello god that almost killed him for real, but the Synchro-eating robot is what drove him into his garage to brood on/off for several episodes?

[spoiler=64]

  • Fusion Banana Yugo and Yuzu arrive to Friendship Cup. Yuzu seeing Yuya made my moment. :')
  • Here he is. The first debut of our Atlas-sama in ARC-V. Same hair, same outfit, same duel runner.
  • So they merged a Turbo Duel with an Action Duel. Didn't expect they do this, especially in an Exhibition match. Action cards were floating in the air. That's kinda cool.
  • So Yuya summoned Rune-Eyes (Fusion) and Dark Rebellion (Xyz) and battled Jack's Red Wyvern and the new Red Dragon Archfiend (Synchro). I can already feel the dimensional war in this cup.
  • Yuya lost, but with only 3 turns? Kinda short duel. And he even was sent flying from his motorcycle.

[spoiler=Preview]

  • Welp, you failed to arrest people again, JMR. Don't you have other hobbies, besides that and playing Chess?
  • Odd-Eyes, Dark Rebellion and Clear Wing are reacting to each other, but I doubt they'll meet each other in the upcoming episode.

[spoiler=64]

Hell yeah, the King is back (well not really the one we know and love, but it's been a while).

Jack even said one of his old quotes from 5Ds; the first one from pre-Fortune Cup.

Yuya, you came very close to defeating Jack; I must admit, but you did get creamed in the end by Scarright.

TBH, it would've been cooler if the SS destruction and attack names were reversed, but that's just me.

Either that, or some variant of Absolute Powerforce (there was one in the SS destruction though).

-------

It appears some of the audience members disproved about how Action Cards made things turn out differently.

Then again, Jack got one too, and that spun the tide in his favor.

It hurts that you had no backrow, Yuya. That MIGHT have saved you.

Although I think the Council got a good look at Yuya's prowess (not fully, but it shows what he's capable of to an extent).

We see Rune-Eyes again, although it didn't do much this time.

TBH, I would've expected Jack to make a statement about the Pendulum Summoning stuff, but guess it doesn't faze him (or he learned about it earlier on).

-------

Also, that kid in the waiting room told him a bit about Jack, presumably.

Overall, good episode.

[spoiler=64 raw] meh I was disappointed by how Red Dragon Archfiend Scar-right was summoned (it was too short, and not epic enough) but other than that the duel was great (but Yuya, if you didn't summon Rune Eyes, sticking with Odd Eyes then used Timegazer or Stargazer's Pendulum effects, you could have deal more damages)

Also

Anyway someone in baidu managed to reduced the shaded area on his face

[spoiler=Response]

Yeah, Scar-right's summoning wasn't long enough or epic like RDA.

It was fine though; we probably expect a lot out of the series because 5Ds set the bar for summon sequences and all; especially given this is meant to be alternate Jack's ace.

As for the shaded guy behind Roger, wonder who he is or if he'll be important later on.

[spoiler=Thoughts on 64 RAW]

- I wonder if the guy standing behind JMR is someone from the Fusion Dimension, ofc this is simply speculation.

- I assume the kid in the room told Yuya some things about Jack, though we can't be too sure.

- Like Crow, Jack also has the same VA from 5Ds

- Yuzu's bracelet glowed when Yuya entered the arena (surprise surprise), at least she was happy to see Yuya, so it won't be long before they reunite.

- The audience seemed to have disapproved of the Riding Duel also becoming an Action Duel

- The council people got a good look at what Yuya is capable of, albeit not fully at least.

- I was disappointed by RDA-Scarright's summoning as it was too short and not as epic as RDA, same with the duel though Jack did say it'd only take 3 turns.

 - I was also disappointed that its attack name wasn't some sort of variation to Absolute Powerforce.

- To put it simply Yuya, you did well, but You. Got. Creamed... by means of an OTK.

..

- Next episode we see OEPD, DRXD and CWSD resonate with each other

At least I didn't have to watch an older episode of 5Ds for comparison (regarding Jack's voice), but yeah it was a good episode.

EDIT: Also @16:32 you can get a shot of Jack's hand which contained Revival Gift and Mind Trust, cards that Jack used at least once in 5Ds.

[spoiler= 64 script Burning Souls!!!] Last Time’s Egao Count: 63

Yuzu: H-Hold on, Yugo!

If you keep running around like this,

The Duel Chasers will find us!

Yugo: Yuzu!

They’re not going to arrest us!

We’re registered participants of the Friendship Cup!

Even if we act recklessly for a bit, it’s not going to…

Crap! It’s already begun!

Security Officer: We’ve found the two of them!

Should we capture them before they enter the Palace?

Jean-Michel: Well, it’s not like I’m an evil demon.

Let them enjoy the festivities without any worry.

After all…

Who wouldn’t want to see Jack Atlas’s Duel?

(Opening Sequence)

Melissa: Here, in the Duel Palace that stands in the heart of the City,

Over 200,000 spectators have gathered,

Burning with excitement for the opening of the Friendship Cup!

Tonight, let all of us rejoice

And enjoy the eve of the City’s biggest Duel tournament,

The Friendship Cup!

Melissa: Being chosen as the MC for this event

Is something that I’ve been waiting for!

Yuya: Everyone…

Just where did they take them?

Jean-Michel: Every year, on the night before the Friendship Cup,

The King would hold an exhibition match.

How about it? Why don’t we let him be his opponent?

Yuya: Me?

Yuya: H-Hey!

Where are you taking them?

Gehl: Don’t worry about it.

We’re not planning to harm them.

Grey: They are the participants of the Friendship Cup.

Azul: Even if they’re jailbreakers,

They will be treated as heroes.

Bordeaux: As long as they keep winning…

Right, President?

White Taki: Exactly.

You guys are our guests,

So you’re always welcome here

As long as you keep winning.

GONGENZAKA: Yuzu will definitely see your match!

So win it and let her know you’re okay!

SAWATARI-SAN: Show these Synchro *******s what we’re made of!

Crow: Crush that traitorous dog, Jack Atlas!

Yuya: Traitorous…

Yuya: Hey…what is Jack Atlas like, as a person?

Sam: U-Um…

Yuya: Is it something that you can’t tell me?

Sam: No. It’s nothing like that…

Yuya: So, are you one of Jack’s fans?

Sam: Eh? W-why would I be?

Yuya: I heard that Jack is the King of both Tops and Commons.

I’m sure he has a lot of fans.

Are you one of them as well?

Sam: Eh?

Yuya: Sorry.

I’m sure speaking about the King to someone who’s going up against him must be uncomfortable.

I was just wondering what kind of person he is.

Sam: Um…three years ago,

Jack Atlas became the first Common to win the Friendship Cup.

After that, he became a king with unbroken control over his throne.

All of his conducts and speeches are fitting for someone who

Is known as the strongest Duelist in history…I think.

Yuya: Sorry.

I guess it’s really uncomfortable for you to speak about him.

Sam: I-it’s almost the appointed time.

I’ll guide you to the stadium.

Yuzu: Hold on just a sec, Yugo!

Yugo: WHOA----!!!

We’ve finally entered the Duel Palace!

Yugo: This place is so huge!

Look at how wide it is!

And I’m gonna Duel in this place…

This is so awesome!

Yuzu: The Duel Stadium in Maiami City is pretty big as well,

But I guess a Riding Duel arena has to be even bigger.

Melissa: All right, it’s about time for today’s main event!

The pride of the City, the Duel King,

Jack Atlas, shall begin his Special Match!

Spectators: JACK! JACK! JACK! JACK!

Yugo: JACK! JACK! JACK!

Fangirls: ATLAS-SAMA!

Melissa: As expected of the symbol of the Friendship Cup,

Jack Atlas!

Both Tops and Commons have united to chant his name in unison!

But we’ll have to postpone his entrance for a bit.

Spectators: Eh?

Melissa: First off, let’s introduce the lucky Duelist

Who are selected to face the King on the eve of the tournament!

His name is…

Sakaki Yuya!

Yuzu: Yuya?

Yuya: Whoa--!

Yuya: Crow and the others said something about this,

But we really are going to Duel on these things?

Yuzu: Is that…Yuya?

Ah…

Yugo: What is it?

Yuzu: The bracelet is…!

Is it because the two of you are here?

Yuzu: Then, it has to be him...Yuya.

Yugo: So he’s Yuya…

I don’t know why he was chosen to face the king,

But he’s screwed for sure.

Yuzu: Eh?

Yugo: He’s just a sacrificial offering for the King.

Yuzu: Sacrificial offering?

Yugo: Do you know why they hold an exhibition match before the Friendship Cup actually begins?

It’s to demonstrate the King’s strength.

Yuzu: Eh?

Yugo: The King is not participating in the tournament.

He’s just going to fight its winner.

In other words, the Friendship Cup is a tournament where you

Have to earn the right to challenge the King.

Yugo: This exhibition match’s purpose is to demonstrate how big of a hurdle that is.

Every year, Jack would mercilessly crush his opponents

In order to stir up the tournament’s participants.

Yugo: Anyway…It’s kinda like a custom for him.

Yuzu: Mercilessly crushing his opponents…

Yugo: Yeah.

That’s why his exhibition opponents are just sacrificial offerings.

Yuzu: No way…

Melissa: The wait is over!

It’s finally time for the King’s entrance!

The City shall bow down before his might and majesty!

He was originally a Common,

But he managed to climb up from the bottom,

And reached the summit all Duelists yearn for!

He’s a living legend!

Allow me to introduce him!

Our Duel King, JACK ATLAS!

JACK: There’s only one King, and that’s me!

Fangirls: ATLAS-SAMA!

Spectators: JACK! JACK! JACK! JACK!

Yugo: Jack Atlas is just so cool!

JACK: Let me ask all of you a question!

Tonight, how many turns shall I spend to defeat him?

Yuya: Eh?

Random Spectator: Isn’t it obvious?

That kid is going down in one turn!

JACK: A King’s Duel must be entertaining!

Yuya: Entertaining?

JACK: During the first turn, I’ll make the first move.

Once I’m done with the opening act…

During the second turn, I’ll allow my opponent to have the spotlight for a bit.

During the third and Last Turn, I shall show him the absolute power that exceeds everything!

Gehl: Let’s see what he’s capable of.

Grey: Can the Lancers’ power…

Azul: …measure up to the King’s?

Bordeaux: You’re looking forward to this, right, President?

White Taki: Yes.

Let’s keep our eyes on this match, shall we?

(Chess Commercial. Brb)

Yuzu: Yuya…

Yuya: I’m going to lose in three turns?

Crow: Crush that traitorous dog, Jack Atlas!

Yuya: I’ll show them my Entertainment Duel!

Melissa: First off, we’ll activate the Field Magic.

Furthermore, due to a revision to the rules, an Action Field will…

Wait, what?

Yuzu: Action Field…

Gehl: We’ll carry out your request.

Grey: A Duel that allows you to use Magic Cards known as Action Cards.

Azul: That is how you Lancers fight, right?

Reiji: Yes.

This is a means to fight the Academia.

Bordeaux: You’re going to use it for actual combat?

Gehl: Then let us see…

Grey: what it’s capable of. Right, President?

White Taki: Yes. Hohoho!

Melissa: I don’t know what’s going on, but anyway,

Action Field, On!

Cross Over Accel!

D-Wheel: Duel Mode On. Autopilot. Standby.

Melissa: Riding Duel…Acceleration!

DUEL!

Yuya: Autopilot? I see.

With this, I can Duel without worrying about falling off.

JACK: I’ll take the first turn!

Melissa: Oh, wow!

The King is actually going to carry out what he declared!

Jack has passed the first corner and took the first turn!

JACK: It’s my turn!

I summon Red Sprinter from my hand!

When this is the only monster on my field,

I can Special Summon a Level-3 or below tuner monster from my hand!

I Special Summon Red Resonator!

I’m tuning the Level-4 Red Sprinter with the Level-2 Red Resonator!

The crimson souls shall become one.

All shall tremble before the king’s might!

Synchro Summon!

Come forth! Red Wyvern!

Melissa: The King has already Synchro Summoned!

What an amazing opening act!

Will everything goes according to the King’s declaration!?

Yugo: Jack is as awesome as I expected!

He’s the best!

I want to duel Jack as soon as I can!

JACK: I set one card face-down and end my turn!

JACK: All right, it’s your turn!

I was kind enough to let you have the spotlight for now,

So don’t disappoint me!

Yuya: I will show you my Entertainment Dueling!

It’s my turn!

Using the Scale-1 Stargazer Magician and the Scale-8 Timegazer Magician,

I set the Pendulum Scale!

With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Level-2 to 7!

Swing, Pendulum of the Soul!

Draw an arc of light across the ether!

Pendulum Summon! Come out! My monsters!

First off, Entermate Trump Girl!

Then, Entermate Amenboat!

Next up is Entermate Plusturtle!

And finally, the main star of the show!

The one who bears heroic and beautiful dual-colored eyes!

Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!

Melissa: W-w-what!?

Four monsters at the same time…

In the Central Park Duel that I covered,

Only two monsters were simultaneously summoned,

So this one certainly one-upped that one!

This Pendulum Summon thing is certainly amazing.

Random Spectator: Awesome!

Random Spectator 2: Incredible!

Yuzu: It’s Yuya…

That definitely is Yuya!

Yuya: Entermate Trump Girl allows me to perform a Fusion Summon

Using Pendulum Monsters as materials!

I fuse Trump Girl and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon together!

Magician who possesses mystic magic,

Become a dazzling light,

And be absorbed into the dragon’s eyes!

Fusion Summon!

Come forth! Arcane dragon who wields mystic arts,

Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!

Yuya: Then, I Overlay the Level-4 Plusturtle and Amenboat together!

Raise your fangs of rebellion formed from the pitch-black darkness…

and fight against the foolish oppression!

Descend now! Xyz Summon!

Rank-4! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!

Yugo: It’s that guy’s…

Yuzu: Yeah. It’s Yuto’s dragon.

Gehl: Fusion and Xyz…

Grey: He can use other Summon methods as well?

Azul: This is the Lancers’ power…

Bordeaux: He’s pretty good, right, President?

White Taki: Hmm-Hmm.

He certainly is amazing.

Melissa: From a marvelous Pendulum Summon

To Fusion and Xyz.

Sakaki Yuya has once again performed a miracle and summoned two dragons using these novel Summon methods!

However, our hero, Jack, won’t be upstaged so easily!

JACK: Once during the opponent’s turn,

When there are two or more monsters with ATK higher than Red Wyvern’s,

Red Wyvern can destroy the monster with the highest ATK!

I shall destroy Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!

Yuya: That’s not going to happen!

All right! I activate the Action Magic, Mirror Barrier!

It can negate card-destruction effects!

Melissa: He blocked it!

So that’s an Action Card? Amazing!

Fangirls: No way!

Fangirl 1: He can just pick up a card and then use it?

Fangirl 2: Isn’t that cheating?

Top hat dude: Ho. This is certainly an interesting idea.

Woman with white hat: It sure is.

Some random spectator 1: So Riding Duels have evolved even further?

Some random spectator 2: This is gonna be fun!

Yuya: I’m going to lose in three turns?

Then I’ll just have to defeat you during this turn!

By detaching an Overlay Unit, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon can activate its effect!

I’m going to use two Overlay Units!

I can halve the ATK of a monster on my opponent’s field

And add that amount to this card’s ATK!

Treason Discharge!

Since I used its effect twice,

Your monster’s ATK will be halved twice!

Melissa: The ATK of the challenger’s dragon has gone up to 4300!

Jack is in trouble! Big trouble!

Yuya: Battle!

Do it! Dark Rebellion!

Attack Red Wyvern!

Rebellious Lightning Disobey!

Melissa: Whoa…He lost 3700 LP in one go!

That is one huge damage!

Yuya: Here comes the finishing blow!

Go!

Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!

Attack Jack Atlas directly!

Melissa: No way! Jack is going to lose!?

King!!

Fangirls: ATLAS-SAMA!

Yuya: Consecutive Shining Burst!

Yuya: Huh?

JACK: I activate the Action Magic, Underworld Avoid,

And Special Summoned one Underworld Avoid Token.

Underworld Avoid Token can negate an attack once per turn.

Because of this effect, Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon’s attack has been negated!

Random Spectator: Awesome!

Random Spectator 2: Way to go!

Random Spectator 3: As expected of Atlas-sama!

Random Spectator 4: He’s already learned how to use Action Cards!

Yuya: However, depending on the Level of its Fusion Materials, the number of Rune-Eyes’ attacks will change!

The Level-2 Trump Girl allows it to attack twice!

So it can attack one more time!

Go! Attack Underworld Avoid Token!

JACK: Trap, activate! Reject Reborn!

It negates a monster’s attack and ends the Battle Phase!

Then, it destroys all monsters on my field.

And during this turn, I can Special Summon as many monsters as the number of negated attacks from my graveyard to my field!

Yuya: Say what!?

JACK: I negated two of your attacks.

Be reborn!

Red Wyvern!

Red Resonator!

When Red Resonator is Special Summoned,

I can recover Life Points equal to the ATK of a Synchro Monster on my field.

I recover Life Points equal to Red Wyvern’s 2400 ATK!

Melissa: Amazing!

He not only managed to negate his opponent’s attacks,

But also revived two of his monsters and even recovered some Life Points!

As expected from Jack.

Our Jack!

An absolute monarch! A king of kings!

Yuya: I end my turn!

At this moment, Dark Rebellion’s ATK returns to normal.

Yugo: That was awesome, Jack! You’re the best!

Yuzu: Yuya…

JACK: I believe you said something about Entertainment Dueling, right?

JACK: However, your duels are nothing more than self-satisfaction!

JACK: It’s anything but Entertainment!

JACK: You don’t have the ability to climb up to the summit where I resides!

It’s my turn!

I’m tuning the Level-6 Red Wyvern with the Level-2 Red Resonator!

The heaven and earth shall tremble before the king’s might!

Let the power of the one and only supreme ruler be carved into your soul!

Synchro Summon!

The savage soul!

Red Daemon's Dragon Scar-right!

JACK: Once per turn,

Red Daemon's Dragon Scar-right can destroy all Special Summoned monsters with ATKs lower than or equal to its own ATK, and inflict 500 damage for every destroyed monster!

ABSOLUTE POWER FLAME!

JACK: Then, I attack directly with Red Daemon's Dragon Scar-right!

FIERY CRIMSON HELL BURNING!

Kneel before the King!

Yuya: AAAAAHHHHH!

Yuzu: Yuya!

(Preview for Episode 65)

Melissa: The Friendship Cup's Special Match has concluded!

The winner is, of course, our Duel King, Jack Atlas!

JACK: Your duels are nothing more than self-satisfaction!

It’s anything but Entertainment!

Yuya: Do not insult the Dueling I inherited from my father, Jack!

Yuya: Next time on Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V:

The Broken Entertainer

The fun has just begun!

[spoiler=Thoughts on 64 Subbed]

- Ok, JMR may be a prick, but at least he said he wasn't planning on arresting Banana and Yuzu on the eve of the Friendship Cup. Then again he did mention that it was rare to see Jack duel and he wanted everyone to enjoy it.

- Gongenzaka tells Yuya to win and set Yuzu's mind at ease, whilst Sawatari told him to win to show the Lancer's strength, of course it wasn't going to be easy. Then Crow was telling Yuya to crush that traitor. I'd be interested to see what Jack did to be considered a traitor, though that isn't anything new as far as Jack is concerned.

- So the Council people mentioned that everyone would be treated well as long as they kept winning, I said that I'm interested to see what would happen seeing as the upcoming episode previews mentioned that Yuya and Tokomatsu was going to discuss what would happen to those who lose in the Friendship Cup.

- Banana mentioned that those who are chosen to duel Jack on the eve of the Friendship cup are known as sacrifices and are said to get a beating to show off the king's strength as well as motivate everyone else to reach that height, which I found quite interesting and somewhat well thought out.

[spoiler=64 subs]

Well, we knew Jack was going to say his signature phrase; and he did.

Jack's prediction came out to be true; Yuya would die in three turns, and that last one was an OTK.

Yuya did well against Jack, and as someone mentioned, had he not Fusion Summoned, he could've used Stargazer's effect to negate Jack's Underworld Avoid and likely won.

But then again, he had to factor in the three turn thing.

I have to admit that Yuya getting ejected from his D-Wheel was brutal, but then again, it's nothing new.

Yuya is lucky the D-Wheels they had were autopilot; be glad you weren't playing in the WRGP and stuff where it was manual drive.

That, and Jack did call him out for his way of entertainment; being unworthy to be where he is.

(In a way, that is technically true; Jack is the reigning King and Yuya is basically just able to use every Summoning method, bar Synchro and Rituals; but nothing special about his Deck or anything.)

Exhibition duels are for Jack to show off his powers? I can't say I'm surprised about challengers being "sacrifices" to demonstrate it; but it fits Jack anyway.

[spoiler=Preview]

Yuya gets upset about his Entertainment Dueling being insulted.

Well, Jack does have a point to a certain extent. Jack's duel made everyone smile (bar Yuzu, because she had to watch Yuya get his ass kicked).

Then we have the Security attempt to arrest those two, but Council says no.

Also, Roger rageslams his chess board.

[spoilers= 64 Thots]

Hey look I'm doing one of these for once.

Anyways, consider this: Yuya had a chance to do really good against Jack, and made a BIG misplay by going into Dark Rebellion and Rune-Eyes and trying to OTK. He set Timegazer and Stargazer as his scales, and had he instead just gone ahead and attacked with his Pendulums he never would had to deal with a sudden Scar Right appearance because he could've negated both cards that Jack used, and this would've put Yuya in a strong position.

But I'm not complaining about this; this isn't a Constellar-level of misplay (great job pooping, Dipper. You could've won against Shun.) and I actually think this is fantastic writing, whether intentional or not. Yuya was under a LOT of pressure to defeat Jack, and on top of Jack's declaration of defeating Yuya in 3 turns, this probably rattled Yuya's chains a LOT and prevented him from thinking clearly. This is actually a really neat display of the protagonist making a totally realistic misplay that opens a lot of opportunities on Yuya's growth and depth. This acknowledges fault in Yuya's character as someone who isn't thinking totally clearly all the time and lets stuff like this get to him; like a real human. But here's where my complaint comes in.

They probably won't acknowledge this.  If the Arc V writers want to be smart about this, they'll have someone point out to Yuya the big mistake he made and how much he was letting everything get to him; how if he wants to bring egao, then he needs to calm down and bring out his dad's brand of entertainment dueling. Trying to OTK like he did wasn't Yusho's entertainment dueling; that if he played trying to make a good show instead of trying win so quickly and recklessly, he would've actually done really well. If they bring all of this up then I'll be very happy. But, I don't think they will.

[spoiler=General thoughts]I've been thinking about the absorption between Yuya and such. From what it seems Yuya could get Clear-Wing but I'm thinking Yugo has more to play rather than just the Synchro Arc. Not much is known about Yuri besides he is from Fusion, but Yugo has a reason to go after him. They would have clashed if Yuzu's bracelet hadn't glowed, which could just be they wanted Yuri to be more of a mystery (which is most likely) or they didn't want to have the Yuri v Yugo match as soon, possibly resulting in Yuri's victory and absorbing Yugo but Yuya still ending up with Clear-Wing.

Also if they are absorbed by the nearest one to them what happen if Yuya is absorbed, he has two of the Dimensional Dragons so would that mean a situation like when Yugi was sealed and Atem was left, where the is Berserk Yuya/Dark/Odd-Eyes Rebellion or regular Yuya left and loses Dark/Odd-Eyes Rebellion.

[spoiler=Response]True OTKing ins't really as entertaining but the more Yuya goes down and the chances of getting the Yugo's and Yuri's dragons are there his deck will be less suited for doing his fathers entertainment. The dimensional dragons aren't what one would expect to see in a circus like performance, so it would be easier to try and find his own entertainment instead of trying to copy his father.

[spoiler=Thoughts]

The duel was... meh. Not really impressed by Jack's deck, but then again, no Synchro deck in ARC-V has managed to impress me, except Yaiba's real-life X-Saber deck. No mass summoning, the monsters were a bit eh, no math play, hell, Jack didn't even use that Underworld token to Synchro. Scarlight is also a bit underwhelming. Still, I'm ok with the duel being so short. It means it will detract less time from the PLOT of the upcoming episodes.

I'm confused as to why Trump Girl exists, considering she seems to have the same effect of Trump Witch.

Nice misplay on Yuya's part. Forgetting your own monsters' Pendulum effects, are you? :P

Also, I totally anticipated Jack's speech about entertainment. Yuya still has a lot to learn, it seems. I'm more and more interested in how they will wrap his conflict up.

The guy behind JMR was sooooooo shady. I'm with the people that say that he's a guy from Fusion Dimension.

Also, I was a bit weirded out by Yugo's speech. He seemed to make a big deal out of the fact that the exhibition match was... an exhibition match. Exhibition matches with the champion are made to let the champion show off against some random guy, duh. What's so weird about that?

[spoiler=Response]

1. Yeah, I would've expect Jack to do much more; but he did say that it would be a 3-turn affair against Yuya so I guess that didn't leave too much room.

Although there was the possibility of some huge combo play on either turn (he had 3 cards left in hand, including those two cards original one used in 5Ds, plus some other one).

I won't argue about what happened too much, but yeah there was the potential for a bit more (can probably blame screen time for that).

If they ever fight again, we'll probably see a longer match.

Scar-right is technically poison for Yuya, considering he essentially relies on Special Summons [and none of his monsters are strong enough to break down Jack's, except for Dark Rebellion when it uses its effect].

2. Likely exists because Witch triggers from the P-Zone (which Yuya already used for his original Magicians).

I suppose that Trump Girl is meant to be the field version, but I don't know.

3. Yeah, he forgot about Astromancy/Stargazer's negation effect (I think that's the negation one).

As for the conflict, they'll probably settle it during the finals of this tournament (assuming Yuya makes it).

We already knew that he'd tell Yuya off from the preview, though.

4. There is something suspicious about that guy. I'm not going to arbitrarily guess where his true loyalties lie, but he might play a role in the upcoming plot.

5. Yugo did mention that the exhibition matches were for Jack to show off and set the bar for the tournament (if you reach me, this is what you're getting), and that the challengers get creamed.

I suppose he said that likely because he's gotten a glimpse of a few of these matches, and seen all challengers get brutally crushed by Jack's hand.

In that regard, Yuya was technically the scapegoat for Jack to show off on (as instructed by Roger and Reiji), and indeed he was subjected to a brutal defeat.

[spoiler=Response]It's you guys who forgot the Timegazer and Stargazer's anime Pendulum effects. He must control a Pendulum monster in order to activate either Pendulum effect. (Although, Timegazer's effect can only be activated when it targets exactly 1 Pendulum monster.)

And its cool that ARC-V gets a manga that isn't a spin-off. I like when manga cards get printed, so I'm interested to see what new cards the characters will use.

They didn't forget about the Pendulum effects as the misplay they're referring to is Yuya fusion summoning with Odd-Eyes.

That's correct, British.

Timeskipper and I (along with some other guys earlier on) were mentioning the fact that had he not Fusion Summoned Rune-Eyes and maintained Odd-Eyes on the field, he could trigger the Magician's effects. We know that the Magicians require Pendulums to be targeted, and Rune-Eyes sure isn't one (we didn't forget about it).

As a result, Yuya wouldn't have to deal with Jack's Action Card (which Astromancy would block off) and OEPD could direct attack/win the game for Yuya.
