~British Soul~
I'm not sure about you guys, but I would like to know what was making the beeping noise when the big guard was going in to attack Sawatari. I know we won't find out, but I found the random beeping weird.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
It was likely a timer before the guard exploded and decided to physically assault Sawatari.Kind of like what happens before an explosive detonates or something along those lines. King K. Azo
[spoiler=Thoughts on 62 subbed] Well, this episode made me do something I never thought was possible. It made me feel sorry for Sawatari (AKA Dumbass.) Dumbass did something useful for once and then gets a frying pan in the head for it.Captain Falcon and Gongenzaka need more screen time together... Those two could kick some serious ass together. Also, Gongenzaka using his sandals as stone knuckles... With his punching power.... Ouch. So, did I see Odd Eyes Rebellon Dragon in that episode preview? [spoiler=Side thought] Banana is the only one that really has a chance against Jack, isn't he? Clear Wing can negate Scarred Red, right?
VCR_CAT
The violence likely won't be censored. If you remember in 5D's the scene where Yusei kicked the crap out of those security guards in season 1? That made it into the dub; so likely the rest in this episode will as well. Flash Flyer - Sakura
In Yusei's case, they technically put white flashes in that scene where guards got beaten, but otherwise it indeed aired as-is.(This is what happens when you end up watching 4Kids crap in the early years; thankfully I stopped caring about them + watch subs.) Keep in mind the guard did have a taser, but it's likely they'll let it slide (or just change it to something else). Nah, not really. That's closer to something out of Tom & Jerry than anything that happens in real prisons. Also, the guards were beyond stupid. I didn't really dislike this episode, but seriously, that Facility definitely doesn't sound intimidating at all... Yeah, I was expecting some prisoners to get shocked or something, like what Armstrong did to Yusei in the Facility episodes. That, or that big security guard to actually do something. (He was attempting to punch Crow or something, but Sawatari threw a pan at his head).
King K. Azo
[spoiler=Random thing I noticed] So, remember the smiles vs. food argument? Pchi
A personal note: Surprinsingly enough, there haven't been any complaints from 5D's fans, or, at least, Jack and Crow fans, about them being only AU versions of the ones they know and love, or Arc-V "wasting an opportunity" to pick up where the original series' run left off and tie up some loose ends (specially whether Aki and Yusei eventually hook up with each other). Knowing how fandom works in general, I'd expect them to b**** a little, but until now, they haven't given anybody trouble, from what I've witnessed. Knowing how fandom works in general, I'd expect them to b**** a little, but until now, they haven't given anybody trouble, from what I've witnessed. Personally, I'm so far not impressed with Crow in Arc-V. But Crow in 5Ds constantly fluctuated between hate and adoration with fans because of his Decktype and whether or not he deserved the Signer mark, and the whole thing with Blackfeather Dragon being so painfully mediocre. Arc-V hasn't hurt Crow any more than 5Ds itself did. I've been indifferent to Crow in 5Ds, other than his voice actor is AMAZING in some scenes, so I honestly don't expect much from an AU version yet. And Jack is badass incarnate, but hasn't done anything yet, so no one's really going to complain about that yet.

Yellow Jacket
Oh sheet. If the preview images are any to behold its that we're gonna see another loss added to Silvio's record. He's lookin less and less like an ACTUAL threat to anyone. He must win this. And he's not even my favorite character!
Flash Flyer - Sakura
It looks like that'll be the case; even the episode summary says that he gets ass kicked by Security. Why they decided to give him a new Deck that can't function properly, I don't know. He was most threatening when he had Yosenjus; writers should've kept him using those. They work better, and give them the opportunity to promote the Deck further in the real game. ------------Of course, it is a 3-on-1 fight, so not sure how Sawatari will fight against that; given his track record in simple 1v1s. Flash Flyer - Sakura
First two Decks had parallel rare cards; Yosenjus weren't but still kicked your ass if you weren't careful. Now we have comedians/circus actors which do "who knows what" (granted, only 3 members have been revealed, but they haven't appeared to do anything useful yet). Yes, Sawatari can Pendulum but he's nowhere close to Yuya's level of it. --------------Speaking of which, after next week, we get Jack vs Yuya.Let's see how long Yuya can keep making his "smiles" speeches in front of the King. They'll smile, but most likely at Jack tearing him apart.
mshends
I never really understand the hates on Sawatari's new deck. People calling it bad, but we haven't really see how they actually function yet (Sawatari hasn't really duels that much lately) Underworld Troupe actually fit Sawatari's personality perfectly. Considering his character development from his rematch with Yuya involved him acting like an entertainer, I think a deck of actors fits pretty well. They are demons which reflect Sawatari's bad intends and they are comedians because Sawatari can also be seen as a joke character. Beside the only reason he used Yosenjus last time is it helps promoted Tribe Force.
Sleepy
The hate on Sawatari and his deck comes from more than one point. -The new deck itself hasn't been shown to do anything useful so far, and so there is nothing going for it to compare it with the already high point he had reached with Yosenjus. -He's changed his deck way too much. The Monarch build was incredibly linear. The Dart Shooters were pretty much meant to be crappy cards with shiny holographic effects, even though they could have made them at least competent, but decided to make them downright unplayable if he hadn't used Yuya's stolen Pendulums to bring them out. -We haven't seen how effective those can be because Sawatari has pretty much been beaten non-stop ever since he got here. The officers got impressed by Yuuya's alien Summon method because Sawatari was so useless that they beat him up before even knowing what they were supposed to be playing against. Then we have the current deck's debut last season when he joined in to save the day and failed to do any real difference with the one turn he got. I think the writers want Sawatari to be Chazz, but Sawatari is very very late on its transformation. They already made him transition from a pure antagonist to a more comic character and somewhat of an ally, but they lack the part where his frustration kicks in. I mean he got frustrated about Yuuya beating him back then until he came to terms with it at the Yosenju match, but now he needs some real change to make him want to actually improve, or at least shut up about his arrogance. As Chazz eventually learned "Talk is cheap" (episode 54 GX in case I need to point at when he said it). I'm sure Sawatari can still improve though....
evilfusion
Yeah, the hate on Sawatari and his Deck is the fact that each time he switched Decks, he had an actual REASON for it. His original Deck...just sucked. But they were all parallel rares, indicating his obsession with rarity over practical application. It was supposed to show that he had a lot of influence and liked to throw it in people's faces. His behavior then confirmed this. He switched his Deck to the Monarch build, which indicated he was much more focused on practical use, but he still lost partly due to overconfidence. Then he got Yosenjus and engaged in one of the series' most epic Duels with Yuya, not only showcasing how brutally efficient the Deck could be, but also how good he had gotten as a person, a Duelist, and a Pendulum user. He did lose, but he accepted his loss gracefully and had enjoyed the Duel, and it was indicated Yuya and Sawatari considered each other worthy opponents and even rivals, further indicated when he demanded to know why Reiji was covering up the live streams, and that he wanted to see Yuya continuing to grow stronger. Then when he gets his opportunity to fight the Obelisk Force, he uses a completely NEW archetype. One that basically screams that he's copying Yuya. He's got a Level 7 ace with 2500 ATK. He uses a Scale 1 and Scale 8. They're based on troupes like Yuya has his carnival theme. And he's back to being almost insufferably full of himself, but unable to back it up at all. At least his previous appearances and Duels had him almost legitimately threatening as an opponent, with Yosenju being his all-time high. He had every reason to be smug when he used Yosenju. Now he doesn't, because his Deck isn't being shown very much, and he keeps losing. He got OTKed offscreen by a Security officer, yet still proceeded to act cocky while he was literally being held down by one of the arresting officers. He keeps making claims about being better than Yuya to people who wouldn't know or care either way. He's trying too hard. And while some of this behavior is consistent with his portrayals of being unnecessarily flashy and overdramatic, he no longer has anything behind the statements. Hell, he entered a Duel to become a Lancer, and while his arrival WAS important and convenient, his impact was only so-so. Gogenzaka did more in that Duel to steer the group towards winning than Sawatari did. And post-Lancer, he got mad when people assumed he used his father's influence, hinting that he maybe resents this view of him as a politician's son, and maybe he has even more depth to him. And in the Synchro dimension...he claims he'll use his father's influence whenever he gets pushed around. The non-existant influence that his father has over a completely different dimension. So, we need to see his Deck more to take a shine to it, and Sawatari hasn't shown us anything to make him as interesting of a character as he did originally. If it weren't for his Duel with Yuto (cementing that Sawatari's flair for the dramatic is hilarious when other people brush it off, shown again right before his rematch with Yuya, who flatly pointed out how dumb Sawatari's statements were), and his rematch with Yuya, he would be utterly forgettable as a one-shot antagonist. So his new Deck and current behavior is just making him out to be a bland PROTAGONIST.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Sawatari should've realized by the time he arrived in the Synchro Dimension that his father's influence is elsewhere, and cannot do sheet where he is now.Indeed though, he should've gotten away from using that; but guess that won't happen anytime soon. Now if he had learned to shut the hell up and not spoil all of the secrets about Pendulum Summons and Action Duels to the Securities back in 56, things might've turned out differently. It's probably certain that Roger has instructed the Securities to be aware of Pendulums/Action Duels, and developed countermeasures against them. We'll be seeing Sawatari get himself killed against the Arrest Corps in another 21-something hours once episode airs; whether or not that'll humble him a bit, most likely not. He was at his height of character development during his last fight with Yuya (with Yosenjus); that much is certain. And yeah, Gongenzaka did much more than he did during the Obelisk Force duel; all Sawatari really did was just set the scales that got bounced to Gongenzaka, which then got bounced to Shun and won them the fight. -------------Right now, Sawatari's current Deck hasn't established its capabilities, aside from Pendulum Summoning; it'll likely be expanded on later (hopefully). Not saying that it's bad, given lack of members shown thus far, but indeed hopefully there's a concrete theme to them later on + they can prove themselves to be useful. You're right about Yuya and Dennis already stuffing the circus theme in our faces with their Decks; personally I'm growing rather indifferent towards Yuya at this point; given the Deck and his overall personality thus far. He wants to make people smile with duels, but he's already failed to do it with certain people thus far; that, and going back to that argument he had with Crow; he technically lost that. (Let's see what happens tomorrow and next week when Yuya takes on AU Jack.) That being said, Reira needs to have his Deck fleshed out too (however I probably will not expect him to do so, if his inability to fight alone in the dimension is any indicator). Timeline15
[spoiler ep 63 RAW]- So Jean answers to some high council of tops people, one of whom looks like a pug?- Shun otks 3 people at once again- Shingo is still useless. ~British Soul~
[spoiler=Thoughts on 63 RAW]- Even though we see one new card from Sawatari's troupe, he was still as useless as ever, as was Gongenzaka and Yuya. At least Shun capitalised on the Goyo Defender spam and OTK'd all the security guys.- So JMR answers to higher up council people, not that I'm surprised tbh.- JMR seems to be aware of the different dimensions, but doesn't seem to be aware of the dimension war.- I see AU versions of the hippies from 5Ds appeared when the higher ups were talking about the Friendship Cup. They were seen in their car behind Dungeon Worm and Sleeping Giant Thud (Y'know, the card that was ridiculously hard to summon, yet is a common card)- Judging by context, it looks live all the hadcuffed people are to be entered into the Friendship Cup. - Also Yuya learns that Yuzu has been entered when JMR heard him mutter her name under his breath. Hyped for the next episode as the King is back.
