[M:tG] So, who here plays Commander?

Wanna find other people on here to discuss the format with. I love Magic but I never actually got into the game for the longest time because Modern/Standard decks can be prohibitively expensive, but Commander a. allows you to use cheap/janky cards due to the singleton style and b. allows really crazy stuff to happen almost every game. My Patron of the Orochi deck regularly kills people by sending multiple 50+/50+ tramplers at them. So discuss! What decks do you play, and what styles do you like?

Mostly play with the post-YCM group at Cardgame Coalition on rare occasions. It's a great format, since it's usually pretty free in deckbuilding, and in playstyles. Some people just wanna play politics, some people want to have something to do while they're chatting and relaxing, some people take it full on competitive. Personally, a politics guy myself.

Don't play Commander IRL, so I tend to swap about a lot with commanders.

I mostly play Modern so all of my cast goes into that format. Commander is the second format that I play big in, if you can say that. I really only have one Commander deck that I play with vigoriously. Sharuum is the biggest commander I have ever used and it is the closest thing I have to an actual "Commander" Deck.

I'm a big fan of Commander, due to the hilarious moments a casual crowd can make.
I run a BG Rock EDH (general not important, although Jarad works fine) in which the point is to ramp hard (Budoka Gardener, Explosive Vegetation, Boundless Realms, etc.) and cast bigger stuff than the rest of the table (Blightsteel, Colossus of Akros, Worldspine Wurm, etc.). Admittedly, my main win condition recently seems to be Genesis Waving for 30+.

One of my mates and I play Commander a lot with each other. Unfortunately, I don't have a Commander deck, so I have to borrow one of his.

The one I'm most looking forward to buying is the Jeleva.dek that my mate has. As soon as you exile Temporal Mastery with Jeleva's effect and give her haste, you might as well be playing solitaire with yourself. Cruel, but extremely effective ^_^

Then there's the Oloro.dek which revolves around gaining life. True, it's weak against decks that can swarm aggressively, but 4 life per turn is hard to pass up.

Two notes about these statements:

Jeleva says "Whenever Jeleva attacks, you may cast an instant or sorcery card exiled with it without paying its mana cost." After you cast Temporal Mastery the first time, it is exiled due to itself, not exiled with Jeleva. As such, after it is cast, it is treated as a different Temporal Mastery and that Temporal Mastery will no longer be able to be cast with Jeleva.

For Oloro, It's only two life per turn regularly. Only one of his triggered abilities will work per any one of your upkeeps.

As for my news, turns out Karametra is a LOT better for a power-ramp deck than BG Rock. I recently switched to Karametra EDH and it's pretty nuts.
