Aix
Exactly as title says. What do you generally like, or, what would you generally like in your manga and animu? Of course, most of us can like something as long as it's "good" and it can come from almost any genre, but there tends to be something in mangas/anime that we really like that particularly appeals to us. Nicο
Yes, as long as it is "good". Well, the comedy, twintails, Romance and slice of life is what I generally lean towards, especially recently.
Gαr
Literally the first thing I look for is a shota character. Other than that, I need some sort of adventure or lots of action.
Wildflame
Shoujo ai, or subtexts of it. 2deep4u stuff. A relaxing atmosphere. Some action, but no that over the top. (Not all of the above in a single series, mind you). Oh, and less than 50 episodes, unless you're named Yu-Gi-Oh!
Oriannis
I like a good story with a couple of plot twists. Most of all though I do love a good antagonist/problem
goddamnit names are a pain
Harems Boobs Mechas Actual Romance Boobs Enjoyment of What I Read/Watch A not "always bad" setting/mood Boobs Romance Action (optional if slice of life is good enough) Butts 13 episodes is nice and all, but would shooting for 25+ be that hard? Actual Characters would be nice
Βyakuya
I don't scare how much they can flaunt the biggest boobs at my face or if the series is only like 4 episodes long. Regardless of what genre it is, a good anime for me is one that has a decent amount of humor balanced with serious and/or heartwarming moments, lovable and developed characters, a brilliantly setup plot to keep interest in, and a fair amount of aesthetics that show the theme of the anime, particularly in the music and scenes. Maeriberii Haan
Only cared about good characterization and intriguing plot here. That, or fun. Never cared about boobs and romance in anime, and sometimes excessive fanservice made me drop a show.

Aix
Actual Characters would be nice idk what you mean. sometimes excessive fanservice made me drop a show. there is no such thing as excessive fanservice. oh ya, i didn't say wat i lieked in op In order:1. Resolving things through cunning or talking it through tied with stuff that can make me feel, which usually translates to stuff that can make me cry2. 2deep4u stuff. 3. Badass stuff/characters. goddamnit names are a pain
Oh yeah, forgot about the whole art and music thing. Nothing makes me leave a series more than bad art and bad music, except for an over mentioning of porn and crap like that. Not even just porn itself, but the mentioning of it ticks me off when it is excessively done in a series. Granted, those are typically manga and never good enough for hitting that anime status. Also A I X, I don't like things that are "just boobs" and "just explosions." Character development is needed. And good characters that aren't just boobs. It IS good once in a while, but I don't want it to be the general direction of a series.
Sora1499
I hate hate hate Japanese high school culture, so any anime that showcases Senpai Syndrome is not for me. I hate hate hate slapstick humor. I hate hate hate over-emoting things. (lookin at you Shusuke Kaneko) I love dark and philosophical anime, but I also like sweet romances as long as they're genuine. I guess what I look for most in anime is sophistication.

Maeriberii Haan
I kinda disliked shows that are dark for the sake of being dark. I loathe shows made only for fanservice with little to no plot. I hate asspulls. I hate stereotypical characters played straight to their stereotype most of the time. And I hate satellite characters. Shows I followed now are either shows that doesn't even take itself seriously, or shows that I watch for an entirely different purpose.
goddamnit names are a pain
Are you being sarcastic? I honestly can't tell XD I do like the skirts more than pants. And.....how else does romance in a slice of life develop without school? Unless it takes place in a guizes house, and is just....yeah we know where this goes. But what do you have against it past Senpai etc., not-Senpai? And Little Busters makes Kendo look awesum

Just Crouton
But school's like, the only place you can interact with people right? ____ People don't become recluses after high school. Interaction on the job would be slightly boring. ____ Many shows have been made around workplace interaction to great success. The workplace is also more diverse than high school because you can set it anywhere. There can be a high school for psychics or giant robots, but it's still high school. Maeriberii Haan
Oh, and as far as genres, never cared much about it, but I absolutely despise harem and NTR for some reasons. Though, I like tragedy-like animes the most when they are well-written. Oh, and Golden One, as you can see, that sentence is a sarcasm.
goddamnit names are a pain
Simply put, it's annoying and cheap. It's not how real people act. It's also unsophisticated and frankly lazy storytelling. Smosh needs a video about "If Anime Were Real" to make a point. If anime had how people ACTUALLY were, we'd all be on Twitter/Facebook and the whole show would just be a bunch of kids texting in class and slacking around on their phones. I'm fine with fake people. And GOLDEN, name an anime. Real shows, yeah, but I feel it would be out of place in anime. Ain, you may leave now. Maeriberii Haan
Welcome to NHK, or something. I can't remember. Though iirc it's not about romance. The main problem is, writers had the same thought as you TGM, and assumed school to be the only place where things like romance can happen.
