So I didn't find a topic about this movie. I heard that generally it's a good film.

I wanna hear opinions and stuff.

As for me, I overall liked the movie a lot, but I find the mindset of the prince very erratic. It's like they decided to change his personality/goals/etc somewhere as the movie went. The ones that have seen the movie might understand what I'm talking about (if not and you are still curious, I can elaborate).

I already saw it and found it ok. The effects were neat, and it had its funny moments.

However, maybe it was just me, but I felt the movie had too many songs for your usual Disney movie, and in this case I didn't enjoy all of them. So while the characters were singing and fooling around I just sat there waiting for them to end and proceed with the story.

As for the prince, I agree with Sleepy because he changed without warning and it felt rushed.

The prince didn't act too realistically. He he wanted to rule a kingdom, his problems would end if he had let Elsa get shot by the arrows.
All this time he seemed so honest, and even after the plot twist I still believe those scenes were honest.

He had that foolish smile after his first encounter with Anna (and it's not like he could have possibly planned that she'd bump into him there). He didn't have to act just for the camera there.
He was left in charge of the town and was being pretty loyal. Even to the point of going looking after both sisters and risking his life a lot. The prince even fought with a lot of bravery. He could have stayed in the sidelines and be safe, but he really looked concerned.

His "Love is an open door" song didn't say any lies that contradicted stuff anywhere in the movie.

I think it was just a BS decision that production decided on because they didn't quite figure out what their ideal "act of true love" would ultimately unfold like.
I initially thought that they'd ultimately decide on Anna staying with the prince, but with the agreement of not rushing things. While Elsa would somehow get some character development with the guy with the deer (he seems to love ice after all. He was pretty much in awe when he saw the Elsa's castle's ice.... they probably just didn't know how to make it happen).

They could have also made it a bit more open-ended, without Anna quite deciding who to stay with yet (because too soon and all). Granted that Elsa would be intended to stay alone as it actually happened, which I'm also fine with.

Overall though, the prince's issue didn't really bother me too much.
The one thing that did bother me in the movie:
I thought the comic-relief snowman was gonna ruin it for me, and I was wrong. The snowman is lovely and I really like the sense of humor they have with him. He also has other rolls and meanings, it's very clever.
On the other hand, the comic-relief trolls were boring to listen to. I really wanted them to not take a detour from Anna's worsening condition, so I was happy at first that they got to them quickly, but forcing a love song in there was awful IMO. Not to mention the lyrics were too silly for me as is. That song is the one thing keeping me from saying I loved the movie.

EDIT:
And yes, it had more songs than normal, though to me 90% or so of them I really liked.

On another note, someone recognized Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled coming into the castle as Anna came out.

I agree that the prince changed suddenly, but looking back I should have expected it. During Hans' and Anna's duet he gestures towards Arendelle as he sings something along the lines of 'I need to find a place I can call my own', and now knowing that Hans was indeed the villain it makes the song a lot darker as you realize that, that scene is actually the villain's musical number in which reveals his plan and motives. And besides, he was just a little too willing to help a kingdom he had only just visited that day.

Now of course, this was all decided upon after I had seen the entire movie, because let me tell you that I did not expect the plot twist one bit(my gf will testify to the fact that I gasped in the theater).

All in all, I loved the movie and found it a huge step up from the other Disney princess movies that I have seen(not that I've seen that many), but it is almost embarrassing how much I loved that movie and the 'Let It Go' song is just absolutely phenomenal. And the 'Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?' song just inspires so many feels and...

...well there I go fangirling again...

I had the same opinion about the Snowman, but I ended up loving Olaf, and I agree that the trolls were just annoying...and a bit out of place in my opinion, but whatever.

And if you guys hadn't heard...

No one saw it coming because there really isn't anything wrong about wanting a place that belongs to you, and because one would think he was dumbly in love just like Anna so they were both blinded by that feeling. Or at least, I find that easier to come to mind than "evil guy" even after knowing, but that's just me xD (I know because most of the songs I already heard again a few times on Youtube videos).

And nonono, please go on, those were really good points of the movie IMO. Let it Go I've repeated a few times these past few days.

That sounds pretty neat, though I'd keep my guard up about the sequel.

I have no idea where they could have the story go from here, and am not sure how many Disney sequels are considered on the same league as the original movies.

I hope it's not like the one for Cinderella where it was just a few slash of life stories slapped together. I think Beauty and the Beast also did that somewhere down the line, as well as a Christmas movie, and some other sequel. Other shows based on hit movies that Disney made back in the late 90s - early 2000's were not necessarily bad, but didn't quite have any major story going on. Just generic-ish episodic plots.

Sooo IDK.

I wanna think they've taken notes and will take measures to strive as high as this movie did.

Really? Yeah!

Alright, so I just looked up Love is an Open Door trivia to see if maybe I was just reading too much into, and it turns out that it was actually intentional for it to have that darker meaning, but I agree that they could have thrown a little more clues in there, perhaps some darker looks from Hans. If you want to look for yourself, it is here.I thought it had some interesting points down in the Trivia section at the bottom.

And can we just talk about Let It Go for a moment. I love how Disney has decided to not push the 'do what is best for everyone' theme into the movie and instead pushed for it to be 'do what makes you happy' and that is exactly what Let It Go is all about. To put it crudely, the song full embraces being selfish, and I have to tend to agree that sometimes being selfish is well deserved and sometimes the right course of action. Not to mention that the Let It Go scene had amazing effects and fully captured my attention.

I enjoyed the opening song, Heart of Ice(I think that is what it is called), as I think it accurately sets the setting of the movie and prepares us for the culture we are going to see as well as foreshadows the characterization of older Kristoff. The haunting beat that it has sends a shiver up my spine that makes me smile for no apparent

Do You Want to Build a Snowman? made me so upset watching the movie, and I had to try so hard not to tear up for fear of my gf looking over. (Gots to keep up a manly appearance), but it just reveals that Anna isn't necessarily mad at her sister and that she just wants to know what happened, or in the best of circumstances for it to go back like it once did.

EDITL=: I have the same opinion on the sequel. I think they need to leave well enough alone, but as usual the movie industry is pushing their luck. Bringing it to broadway is a neat idea though
