Yep.  Got my playset when they were $20 a piece.  Got my final one a week before the January Ban List came out...

Heh. It's funny how because Rulers were a thing, it let people get some of the better cards out there, since we knew that deck was doomed from the start.
Since, you know, anything that wasn't a Dragon or a Rank 7 Xyz monster basically dropped in price.

How is maxx c better?

Imo effect veiler are much better.

For starters Maxx "C" draws you into stuff which adds consistency/speed.

It also disrupts more decks to an equal extent. All of the top tier decks don't like Maxx "C" (Fire Fist, Geargia, Mermail) whereas Mermail doesn't care about Veiler that much.

Maxx "C" isn't a -1 and is a plus in some cases. This can save you when you are otherwise in a losing position. Veiler is only really good when you are in s fairly decent position anyway.

I don't think 2 Gyokkou is needed because you don't really have the immense search power for FF spells that you do in 3-axis, you'll tend to just want to be searching a Tenki for next turn.

Not sure what to cut it for but if there's anything you want to test you could put it in that spot.

Also I recommend cutting a Dyna and a Twister from the extra for 2 Chain Whirlwind/Dust Tornado.

On Maxx "C" vs Effect Veiler: I prefer Veiler, but I will try the deck with Maxx "C" mained instead.  Veiler just seems better in that it can stop your opponent from setting up first turn.

It is.  Trust me.  Gyokkou has saved me so much.

Anyway.  Deck updated.  Trying with Dualities to increase consistency.

And sorry about the glare on the new deck pic.

  • 2 weeks later...

So I went 1-6 with this deck. Seriously? WTF was I so bad...? I will admit I opened badly a few games, but I lost on the other games as well. here were my matchups:

Mermail
Evilswarm
Geargia
Frognarchs
BlueEyes Rulers
Glad Beasts

Only deck I beat was Frognarchs. I really cant figure out what's going on with me.

HALP!

maybe its because you are running bad cards like dragon?

you like wasted 2 out of 3 months with 3 really good valueable cards (wolfbark) which may be unrelevant next format by using the worser build, like if you just took out dragon and ran some other good cards you prob would of won a lot more etc
