Name: Ryder O' Riely
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Appearance: Standing 6 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds, he is a fairly large man. He wears a long black, lether trenchcoat with a white T-shirt underneath.
Wears black jeans and black steel-toed boots. Because of his job he hs to appear to be a dark man, thus the black clothing. Has very short dark hair and a full beard. Dark fingerless gloves
with silver studs on the knuckles.
Ryder was born into a fairly good family, they had plenty of money and always treated him with love. Seemed like the perfect childhood for the most part.
When Ryder was a young boy, he didn't have to mny friends in school, so after his work was done, he spent most of his time with his dueling deck, perfecting his skills.
The perfect life came to a stop very quickly on his 17 birthday. Walking home from school one day, he noticed dozens of firetrucks, abulances, and police cars go soaring
past him. It wasn't until he got to the street his house was on, that he realized, his life would never be the same. His bones filled with anger, rage, and sorrow. He felt
cheated out of his life. Upon investigation, he learned that the fire wasn't accidental.

Roaming the streets a few months later, no home, no job, just his dueling deck and the clothes on his back, he was ambushed in an alley way by 3 guys. After giving him the
beating of a lifetime, and realizing he had no money, they ran off with his cards, they only thing he had left in the world. He decided he would not lose the last thing
he cared about in the world. He chased after them until finally catching up to them, about to jump their next victim. When he intervienes and demands his cards back, they
make him a deal: beat them in a 3 on 1 duel and he can have his cards back. When the duel begins his top card starts to glow. He draws it, then the phrase "I activte
the Seal of Orichalcos!" was the last thing the 3 goons heard.

They drop to the ground and Ryder looks at the card that showed up in his deck. "Well done young Ryder, it's time for you to join your new family" a voice whispered
to him. He walked to a large glowing light he saw and began his new life.

Working for Dartz as a soldier of the Orichalcos gave his life meaning. He was able to channel and vent out all his anger and rage. Working his way up threw the ranks of the
smaller, expendable henchman, he earned the title "Orichalcos Bounty Hunter". If you were someone whose soul was in high value or you angered the wrong people, he would find you,
and take you out with the power of the Orichalcos, and his incredible dueling skills. During his time in the group, he became very close to Rafeal, yet had a
sort of "rivialry" with Valon. Despite warnings he recieved, he decided to leave the group to become a freelance dueling bounty hunter.

During his travels, he ran into a man named Seeker, who challenged Ryder to a duel. After he was defeated, Seeker told Ryder he would be perfect to join the group known as the Rare Hunters.
Ryder went with Seeker to the Rare Hunters head quarters and was tested by dueling dozens or Rare Hunter grunts, defeated them all with ease. Marik was very impressed with
Ryders skills and asked him to join as their permanent bountry hunter, tracking down, and stealing the souls of their enimies. That is where he now resides, with the power of the Orichlcos,
the power of his deck, and the strength of the Rare Hunters on his side, he has the power he only dreamed existed.
Group Association: Ex Dueling Bounty Hunter for Orichalcos/ Currently Dueling Bounty Hunter for Rare Hunters

Personality Traits: Due to the fact he went from rich kid to dueling bounty hunter, his personality took a large turn. He is very confident and is never afraid of a
challenge. He still has a lot of built up agression, and will not hesitate to rob someone of their soul if they deserve it. But he can be considered a gentle giant, just don't anger him.

Duel Disk: Orichalcos Duel Disk

Favorite Monster: Different Dimmension Dragon

This seems very cool, the buying of packs is something i haven't seen before and I'm interested in how that would work. Also, I agree with you on 5ds, and i used to think zexal sucked too, but I've come to appreciate xyz monsters. They give every deck a chance to be somewhat competitive.

Anyway, since I'm about to go to sleep, I would like to reserve a spot, and i'll have an app done in less than 24 hours.
Name: Ace Draco
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Group Association: Student (Duel Academy)
2dv8vuv.jpg Instead of the clothes in the picture, Ace wears a traditional Duel Academy Obelisk Blue jacket along with dark navy jeans and black sneakers

Background: The youngest of three children, Ace was born in Domino City. Though he never saw much of his parents, he was always around his older brother and sister. Both of his siblings were great duelists, so he quickly picked up dueling at a young age. His older brother graduated duel academy and went on to become a successful pro duelist, and then only a year later his sister entered the school and quickly became the top ranked student. At the age of 15, three years after his brothers graduation and during his sister's final year at duel academy, Ace took the entrance exam for duel academy and passed with flying colors. He was put into the Obelisk Blue dorm. After a year at duel academy, Ace was widely recognized as the top freshman duelist, attempting to follow in the footsteps of his siblings. In the graduation duel that year, the top duelist at the school, Ace's sister Allison, chose Ace himself as her opponent. In a good battle, Allison beat Ace, allowing Ace to realize he still wasn't as good as he wanted to be.

In his second year at duel academy, Ace took over the mantle as the top duelist at duel academy. Feeling as though no one could challenge him and make him improve at duel academy, Ace left the school. He took part in a high profile tournament at Domino City not too long after, and faced his older brother Athan in the first round. Angered by the fact that Ace left duel academy before graduating, Athan was prompted to teach Ace a lesson. He beat Ace in four turns, eliminating him from the tournament in the very first round. Ace was crushed by this defeat. He returned to duel academy, but he had to go through the entrance exam once more. With his confidence and dueling spirit at an all-time low, Ace barely survived the exam, and he was put into the Slifer Red dorm. Ace lost nearly every duel he participated in that year, and his fall from grace was completed once the final rankings came out and he was ranked second-to-last. Unable to find his passion for dueling and competing, Ace decided he was going to quit dueling. As he was packing his things to return home, Ace was visited by an unexpected guest, the famous traveler Linnaeus Draco, Ace's father. Linnaeus challenged Ace to a duel, saying Ace could only be allowed to return home if he wins. Ace reluctantly accepted the challenge, but in little to no time found himself with 100 life points. After a long speech by his father about what dueling is truly about, respect and good times, Ace regained some of the passion he had lost. After drawing the exact card he needed to facilitate a comeback, Ace took control of the duel and ended up winning. Even though he now had the ability to return home, Ace thanked his father and decided to go through with his final year at duel academy.

In his final year at duel academy, Ace challenged every student at the school to at least one duel. After sweeping the school's duelists, Ace was once again the king of the school. When the final rankings put him on top, Ace didn't know who he wished to battle for the ceremonial graduation duel, having beaten the school's best numerous times. But duel academy had a nice surprise for Ace, and arranged for his opponent to be the current pro dueling champion, none other than Athan Draco. With his previous defeat at the hands of Athan still fresh in his memory, Ace vowed to give Athan the duel of his life. After a tough battle, Ace managed to battle to a draw with Athan, a shock to everyone who witnessed the duel. Ace was hailed as a prodigy, the kid who tied with the best of the best. Now he was ready for the next chapter of his life, to take the pro dueling leagues by storm.

Personality Traits: Ace is quite stubborn. He thinks he's always right, meaning he has a hard time listening to others when what they're saying isn't similar to what he is saying. He also has a tendency to talk too much. Since he is also cocky, he tends to spend a great deal of time praising himself and talking about himself. He is a very competitive person and therefore a very competitive duelist. He has an extreme passion for dueling and strives to be and beat the best. Although he takes dueling seriously, he thinks of it as a way to have fun and enjoy yourself. He feels that after a duel, the two opposing duelists gain respect for one another and that dueling brings people closer together. Ace is very social, and is very protective of his friends as well.
So I'm done with everything except the card list and deck, but i was just wondering about something. I made my character a powerful duelist since the plot said "With the greatest duelists in history all gathered..." but i'm wondering if maybe i went too far or if it's fine considering different time lines are in play.

Well you're right about the fact there are duelists from multiple times in history. So just because he is the one of the best duelist in his time, won't have any real effect once they are all thrown together.

I almost done with my character, once it's 100% i'll post it.
What did you think of your cards? I felt there was a nice mix, and the way I randomized them seemed to work for me.

Also I've been thinking of updating the plot a little bit. Maybe something along the lines of since people from different timelines, alliances can be changed throughout the story, just so there is no way to know who is on what side and what there objective might be. Some people could even try to join Fauxlin and help him gain power or try to take it from him. Any thoughts?

Well I choose to do it that way because to my knowledge, no RP has done it. Also it added some sort realism to me, I men if you go the store and buy a pack you don't get to pick what you get, know what I mean? Having said that, I suppose I could change it up bit if more people would be interested. How would you feel if you pick the packs you want, and get to elect the card you want from those packs? Keeps to my original idea, but adds a little freedom and more choice. Any thoughts?

Well if you have an idea on how would like to see this changed please let me know.

First off, with these kinds of roleplays, decklists are rather pointless. Trust me, it's been tried before many times.

Just give people the freedom to use whatever cards they want, as long as they don't use certain cards you don't want (i.e., archetypes that would break others, like Dragon Rulers), and to have any customs they want to include run by you.

I suppose I was just turned off by that idea because then this just becomes another Yu-Gi-Oh Rp, no different. People just use the same character and cards they use in everyone. But I see your point. Well I'm still going to standby the no Xyz/ Synchro rule, just because I really can't stand them at all. Well I'll edit the original post and people will be able to use cards they choose. Thanks for your input.

Actually, a retro RP might be a good idea.

I tried to create one a while back harkening back to 5D's, but RL issues got in the way.

It could really allow for some added dimension to gameplay.

Though I'm wondering if it would be alright to add additional custom bosses to existing archetypes, such as giving Bujins Chimeratech-style Fusions.

Trust me. This idea is gold.

Im in for this. The plot is good and reminds me alot of bonds beyond time.

heres my application

Name: Ben Creel
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Appearance: At 6ft2 and 200 pounds he is tall and fairly muscular for his age. Dressed like an average teen he wears regular sneakers, blue jeans, and white t-shirt with a smiley face printed on its front. Bright blue eyes contrast from his short shaggy black hair. His hobby of repairing duel disk led to the creation of The Victor his custom made duelsdisk which he is never caught without.
Background: Ben Creel was born a regular kid into a regular family. His Dad owned a duel disk repair shop, and his mom was into politics. From a young age he showed talent in dueling and quickly became the best in his neighborhood. This led to a surge of overconfidence and him trying out for duel academy. wanting to go to the same school as Jaden and friends, his dreams were quickly shattered as he bombed tryouts and was rejected.

Devestated by his failure, he decided to take up duel disk repairs and give up on professional dueling. Unbeknownist to his family, he had opened up a black market repair shop where he accepted rare cards as payment.

None were as powerfull as the mauseleum of the emperor, a card that would allow him to summon powerfull monsters with lifepoints instead of tributes. Using his rare, powerful cards he quickly rose back to prominance in his town and started entering underground tournaments where he is still undefeated.

Young, bold, and cocky he is yet to face a true challenge and his skills remain untested.

Group Association: Student reject from duel academy
Personality Traits: Can be very cocky and arrogant at times. He isnt afraid of any challenges but will stubbornly refuse to duel those "beneath him", though rare he can still be humble as he remembers his duel academy failure.
Duel Disk: Picture, The Victor is his custom made duel disk. It is made out of rusty bronze, and is shaped like a V. And its monster card zones are plated with various precious metals such as silver and gold.
Favorite Monster: Cyber Tech Alligator
Deck Name: Mauseluem of Champions
Deck Style: Mauseluem of The Emperor

this is my first major roleplay, so constructive critisim would be appreciated

Reserving Kaiba, Yugi and a couple of customs. I don't bother with a lot of Yugioh RP's, but the plot of this specific one seems decent enough.

Although I have a couple of questions:

Can the custom characters have any relationship with the canon ones? If so, can also I alter Kaiba and Yugi's age so they would be at a realistic age to have had children plox?

EDIT: Actually, nvm that striked through part. I've a work around for that.

Oh, and can we create custom deck master effects for existing cards, apart from the ones listed of course? I assume so if you're accepting custom cards, but I thought I'd ask :/
