The Warden
Welcome duelists, back to the world of the Deck Master Tournament. After the last one kinda wigged out due to unfortunate circumstances, I have decided to revive the Deck Master Tournament style because, let's face it, it's fun. Agreed- and boy did we have fun with the first one. Put on a show and everything. It's a unique mechanic, and the right choice with a bit of luck can sure take you places. True, but you also have to be smart as well as lucky, since we get to decide your Deck Master's ability. And to be fair, if you guys try to be high Tier, we won't show mercy on you. Be clever, and be creative. After all, this luck is but a roll of the dice. -That we loaded. Heh, yeah. Well, good luck to you all. And may the best Deck Master win.
1. All duels will be handled by Dueling Network. Also, please post that you are dueling so people can watch. It's nice to have an audience. 2. There will be NO Alternate Win decks (with the exception of Vennominaga and Number 88: Gimmick Puppet of Leo), no Burn, no Mill & no Stall decks in this tournament. 3. Before you submit your Deck, you must submit your choice of Deck Master first; so we can give it an effect and give you time to build a deck that will find some twisted way of abusing it. Note that once we give it an Ability, you CANNOT change your Deck Master. 4. You must submit both your Deck Master and your Deck to the both of us so we may both make decisions and final choices. Decks can be changed as much as you like until the beginning of the first round; but it is important that you alert us to such changes before then. 5. The Tournament will be handled Swiss Style, so even if you lose you will still get to duel a bit longer. No sense in wasting good Deck Master effects. 6. If the duelists miss the cut-off date for a Round, that duel will be considered a tie. However, if one player is inactive whilst the other is active, the win will go to them instead. 7. Have fun. After all, it's just a game.

The Deck Master is a fun concept, and as such here is how they work. 1. You will only possess 1, count them, 1 copy of your Deck Master in your Deck. Your starting Deck Master does not possess the original effects inherent to the card, and instead possesses the Ability we have granted to it. These Abilities ARE NOT effects and as such cannot be negated by the effects of cards like Skill Drain or Divine Wrath. 2. Deck Masters must be a Level 4 or lower monster, and they can be either an Effect monster, or a Normal monster. 3. You will have your Deck which can be 40 to 59 cards, plus your Deck Master. At the start of a duel both players must banish their Deck Master (this does not make them literally banished; the Banished Pile just acts as the Deck Master Zone) from their Deck or hand. If banished from the hand, that player must draw another card. 4. If your Deck Master is destroyed and/or sent to the Graveyard or Banish Pile, you lose the duel. This does not count in the case of when a card like Stardust Dragon, as a Deck Master, tributes itself for its effect, and Special Summons itself in the End Phase. So long as that Stardust Dragon is face up on the field when the turn ends, it is not a game loss. 5. You do not lose if your opponent gains control of your Deck Master, unless it is used as an Xyz material, returned to the Deck, destroyed, sent to the Graveyard, or banished in any way while under their control. 6. At any time during your Main Phase, you can move your Deck Master from the Deck Master Zone to your field. This does not count as a Summon so cards like Bottomless Trap Hole & Torrential Tribute cannot be activated. If a card effect would send your Deck Master back to your hand or Deck, it is returned to the Deck Master Zone instead. Deck Masters cannot be the target of card effects that return cards to the hand or Deck as a cost, such as Genex Ally Birdman. 7. A Deck Master can ONLY be moved from the Deck Master Zone to your field once per duel. 8. Deck Masters are unaffected by card effects controlled by your opponent that destroy or send during the turn they were moved to the field from the Deck Master Zone. 9. A Deck Master can be used as Tribute for a Tribute/Special or Ritual Summon, as well as act as a Fusion Material monster, or a Synchro/Xyz Material monster for the Summon of a Fusion/Synchro/Xyz monster. If you do, the monster Summoned is now treated as your Deck Master, and it gains the effect of your Deck Master as well as having its original effect. So if you Tribute Summon Caius the Shadow Monarch by using your Deck Master Armageddon Knight as the Tribute, it will still banish a card as per its effects as well as gain Armageddon Knight's Deck Master ability. The prior Deck Master is no longer treated as a Deck Master and becomes the original version of the card. 10. If you do Summon a monster by using your Deck Master in any way, the Summoning of this new monster cannot be chained to or negated. 11. Deck Masters CANNOT be used as Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of a monster that requires Archtype specific Material, such as Madolche Tiaramisu. (Stolen from Black's rules) 12. THE LAVA GOLEM CLAUSE: If a monster such as “Lava Golem” uses your Deck Master as a tribute, that monster becomes YOUR Deck Master. As such, if a card is used to send it from field to hand, it will leave the field as YOUR Deck Master, just like any other bounced Deck Master. 13. MANDATORY CLAUSE: If a game progresses to a point where a mandatory Deck Master Ability was ignored, and then one or both players drew a card or otherwise looked at/added a card to their hand from the deck, the game will end with the player who ignored or forgot the mandatory Ability taking a loss due to irreparable game state. 14. TAG OUT CLAUSE: You cannot have 2 Deck Masters. Ex: If you use your "Gladiator Beast Bestiari" Deck Master to summon "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus", "Gyzarus" cannot tag out, because you would then have 2 Deck Masters, which is an illegal gamestate.

Because we now how some of you players have a thing against the concepts of fun, we are enforcing some additional bans to water down the High Tier stuff to fit the Tournament. .:Forced Deck Masters:. If you intend to play any of the decks where these monsters shine, they MUST be your Deck Master, no questions asked. Bringerofcake
So, a couple of questions about Deck Masters. Say that you move your deck master to the field, and it gets compulsed. To be absolutely sure, can you return it to the field again? Second thing: what if you move the deck master to the field with its own effect, rather than as a player action? Does that count for the "one Deck Master move per Duel" rule?
The Warden
A Deck Master can only be moved once to the field; either by its own ability or by its owner moving it manually. Once it is sent back to the DM Zone it cannot be moved unless its ability forces it onto the field again, which none of them currently do anyways

The Warden
I did say again, I mean really, who in their right mind would move that particular DM to the field of their own volition?
