For some reason, it's come back into discussion here. One of the proclaimed heralds of the narrative-driven game revolution along with others like The Walking Dead and Bioshock Infinite. Have you played it? Did you like it or dislike it? And why?

It's unarguable that the game received massive amounts of critical acclaim, most critics giving it almost perfect scores, as well as being nominated for and winning various game awards. Is it worth taking the response with a pinch of salt? Or do you just trust the (in experience, anyway) experts?

Having started playng the game, I do have to agree with all of the reviews I've seen of it.

I mean the story is brilliant and hasn't felt dull yet, the way the ame play is designed so that you can work your way through situations as you feel, and the detail put into it is amazing.

It's so different to other games I've played in that despite having played for hours and not being any where near majorly through it, I'm still not even close to bored of it. It's basically a masterpiece.

It's personally my GOTY for 2013 and, in fact, it actually has received the most GOTY wins from critics by this one report I read. Anyways, it's a beautiful game - aesthetics, gameplay, story, etc. It's one of the few linear games I've played through more than 3 times.

I got The Left Behind this weekend but haven't gotten around to playing it. The Last of Us kinda felt like Metal Gear Solid with zombies, but the story was so great. I didn't really agree with Joel at the end of the game though.
I mean he saved Ellie, but without her, there won't be a cure for the cordyceps. I get it, he lost his only daughter, he doesn't want to lose Ellie too, but when you weigh his personal feelings against finding a cure for the infection that essentially killed off the human race, I think there's only one real option. I sympathize with the guy, but he essentially screwed over humanity.
