Rhythm Games

Yes, rhythm games. You know, the ones where you press things on screen in time with the music playing, or, in the worse ones, repeat the same four patterns 50 times over for 3 minutes.

Lately, I've been playing a lot of these. Mostly on iOS, with games like Cytus, Deemo, Osu! Stream and various clones of Tap Tap. I've tried some Arcade ones as well, but I suck at those. (DDR In particular is an Achilles Heel for me)  I heard from Gaijin Goombah that Rhythm games are far more popular in Asia than they are in western countries, and I'd like to know if that's true or not.

So, YCM, what's your opinion on them? Also, share your moments while playing them. From the Hardcore, like playing a 15-minute medley on Osu while blindfolded in a cage with poop-throwing monkeys, or the more normal moments.

I love the Patapon Series. That's about it. I like how you have music...and awesome weapons...and explosions...all in the same game. The grinding system is awesome, making your own weapons (well....upgrading them) in your own image is cool, and the dungeon concept was nice. Not to mention, a great story line.

I sometimes play Rock Band when I go over to a friend's house.

Pretty into Cytus at the moment, but I have no fucking clue how they expect anyone to get an A on Level 9 songs, there's literally 20 things on the screen at once.

If it's too fast, practice by playing fast songs with fewer things, you'll get to used to the speed sooner or later. [/spoiler] I've never tried Rock Band, but I've done Guitar Hero, which is the same fucking thing. Didn't like it when I was a kid, and I don't think I'll like it now.
