New Year's Resolutions

Origin 뮤

Recommended Posts

Alright with the holidays over, and 2014 in our midst, why don't we talk about any resolutions that we have made for this coming year and whether or not you make resolutions and why or why not. I for one, have never made a resolution until this year and I am hoping that I become less catty this year. I ended making a lot of enemies in 2013 and I want to remedy that this year.

So what about you guys? Any resolutions you made? Do you find resolutions to be a joke and would never make such an empty promise to yourself?

Mine.

1) Finally finish the back log on YGO images to render.

2) Eat breakfast.

3) Sort my music out....AGAIN. It was then I let it get away with me and then I need to get Seether's music folder down from 156 (mainly 4-5 versions of the same songs).

4) Get to Lv 80 on Dragonfable before June. 1/7 of the way there just 3,000,000 to go. Cap went up years ago and I've made little progress until the recent war when I went from 77-79.

In no particular order

1) Finish writing Season 2 of my offsite fanfic (I've been putting it off a lot due to academics and playing online games)

2) Try to get a 3.0 GPA during either the Spring/Fall sessions in college this year

3) Get better at competitive YGO so I can go into TCG and not look like an idiot. (In other words, keep browsing said section for a while before I decide to go post in there). Might also help with cardmaking to some degree.

4) Remake my old GFX store (and get better at doing GFX work; my skills are alright but could use a dose of improvement)

5) Get more sleep

6) Get more friends in real life.

New Year's Resolution? Don't have one, and don't need one because New Year's Resolutions are stupid.

If you feel you need self-improvement in some area of your life, you don't need a holiday to make the change. Do it NOW.

I wanted to start eating breakfast in April '13, so I started eating breakfast every morning since April '13, whether it's a Clif Bar or a bowl of cottage cheese and peanuts.

I wanted to stop sleeping in until 1:30 in the afternoon in April '13, so I started waking up at 9 in the morning every morning since April '13.

I didn't need to wait for a silly holiday to say "I going to do this." I went and did it, and I feel GOLDEN.

go on here more and post dumb things

That's a good goal. I think it would suck if some jerk decided to ban you and stop you from doing that.

My resolutions are to make less typos and be more active elsewhere. I haven't gotten my license yet, and I need to get a job. I like being on the Internet, but I need to better manage my time.

That's a whole new level of abuse of power

Hey Phantom, I haven't been banned before, can you ban me next? See, I'm even purposefully not contributing to this conversation! I promise to not use a sock puppet if you keep the ban shorter than 3 Days!

I definitely see your point here, as no one should wait to change their life, but I think the reason that some people, or at least I make New Years Resolutions, is that we get caught up in the moment and look for something in our lives that we need to change. Which is also probably why so many resolutions fail so early, its because that feeling of a new you wears off and now you are once again falling into your comfortable habits. So I see your point and logic behind taking your chance whenever the moment hits you, but I also understand the need for resolutions, because it does create the atmosphere of I need to change...the actual silly thing here is that people forget why they want to change until the next New Year

It was a joke. More importantly, Yin and I agreed to ban him, since he's made it quite clear that he intends to follow up on the promise.

1. Be more blunt with what I want.

2. Use coasters more often.

3. Not miss the mug every time I try to pour honey into my tea.

4. Make better art.

5. Improve hella more at cooking breakfast foods.

6. Meet Ellie Goulding or Jennifer Lawrence and maybe get coffee with them??????

7. Fix my door knob.

8. Get a permit because I've procrastinated for more then a year.

9. Land more roles and maybe get paid.

10. Give more passionate rants.

Not really resolutions as much as "things I just need to get done", but here they are;

1. Gain muscle mass. I'm still ridiculously skinny despite all my efforts last year, so I'm going to have to quadruple that to see any results.

2. Finish my novel, and hopefully get it published afterwards. It should've been finished by last year, but I was held back by a combination of laziness and business.

3. Learn to play the guitar a bit. Just because.

4. Improve on my art. I can't seem to get down the shading and depth that other art always seem to have. Maybe it's because I don't have a tablet, but those things are way too expensive.

5. Get more friends. Christmas had been awfully lonely, and this New Year has probably been the least eventful ever in my entire life. Even though I'm making a bigger effort, it's like everyone I'm already friends with is disappearing. It's like trying to hold sand. I don't like this. At all.

6. Relax more.
