This is how you play Lightsworn

You would be surprised how easy it is to OTK. While it may look odd, I can assure you this is the most consistent Lightsworn Deck I've ever made. If you do end up getting Recharge or CotLB, you should win the duel, simple enough.

The side is mainly there to actually provide defence, since for G1, the gameplan is the OTK the shit out of your opponent with some surprise factor.

Anyways, I highly suggest you test this deck out first. You'll never want to go back to playing regular Lightsworn again.

Edit: Article on the deck: http://yu-gi-pros.blogspot.ca/2014/01/lightsworn-rulers-january-2014.html?

Gameplan is as follows:

Mill > Mill > Mill > Eclipse Wyvern banishes JD / Diabolos > Dragon Rulers / Collapserpent banish Wyvern > Go to town on your opponent.

Most of the Extra Deck will either help with removal or speed up the gameplan's process.

Redox was excluded because of it's sub-par attack.

No backrow. It punishes the opponent for playing MST giving me usually 2 free cards from it.

Besides, if they set MST and I use Diabolos on it, they usually scoop. Not many decks can handle 2 turns of constant Lightsworn Spam.

Tsukuyomi also helps with ditching dead hands, and so having your Raiden > Wulf / Felice plays are huge for the deck. Almost every game this happens I will make Lavalval Chain and win that turn or the following one.

Burial is a card that I would be totally okay with putting in this deck.

I wanted to minimize the amount of Spells my monsters would be milling, but the power of Foolish Burial seems almost too strong to ignore. Getting key cards to the grave (the 4th LS, a Dragon Ruler, Eclipse Wyvern, a target for Lumina's effect), or SS'ing Wulf to help out with instant Rank 4's is really good.

This is what I might do:

- 1 Ryko / Rota

+ 1 Foolish

Most likely Ryko.

  • 2 weeks later...

Being facing this (with some slight differences) for a few days and I have to say, this is probably the most consistent LS deck I've ever seen. Up to par with the meta.

I'd play Ancient Sacred Wyvern though, it lets you OTK even in the turns you are not supposed to.
