Long ago, a childhood promise was made, almost like a dream.

When Isaac meets a girl at his new school, what direction will his fate take?

Hope you enjoy this little story of mine~ ^^

Though it's actually for a school project, and I was inspired to make this upon listening to the full version of Dango Daikazoku. My mind just sort of constructed a story that fit the tunes. Totally love that song.

Oh, since I was in a bit of a hurry to finish it (Christmas is coming pretty close, ya'know), I admit that some of the drawings here are traced. If you recognize yours or another artist's work, then feel free to tell me and I'll be glad to give credit (or replace it entirely). Neither the backgrounds nor the music belong to me either.

This is a little project I had to make for school last month~ it took about a week to make. I decided to upload it to Youtube and see if anyone else is interested ^_^ thoughts? Oh, and er, this is the right section, right?

I know, I haven't improved on making smoother lines for my digital drawings one bit, though that's probably because I don't have a tablet... I want a tablet.

The song's actually about family, not really romance. I recognize the cherry blossom scene from Five Centimeters Per Second. The story itself is like an altered version of that movie, actually. Have you seen it? You should if you haven't.

The text is at times very badly placed, especially when it goes on to the next line for being so long and you should've used a different font. The transition from Dango Daikazoku to the airplane sound was not smooth at all.

The part where rivalry became romance seemed really forced.

The art is very good for not having a tablet.

Haven't, but I've been meaning to. And I know what the song's about, I've watched Clannad and read the lyrics translation, it's just that it sounds romantic is all~

Wasn't supposed to be smooth. That part's intentionally meant to force a feeling of suddenness, and then have that feeling gradually recover in the nostalgia scenes...but maybe I went too far there, or the sound was too loud?

And as for text placement and font, noted. My laptop isn't really great at previewing Sony Vegas Pro projects (even when set on 'Best'), so timing and movement tends to be a little difficult to see, and I'm horrible when it comes to choosing fonts. As for text, I guess I could've kept it at the bottom, but then that'd be sort of boring, wouldn't it? I want them to blend in with the image, really, not act like subtitles.

Well, it's kinda typical in anime, isn't it? :/ But I get where you're coming from. It's just that there isn't enough space on the Dango Daikazoku song to explain more about it.

My original idea was that they liked each other from the start, but because of their groups of friends opposing each other, then they couldn't be close, and when they're in a relationship, they're actually keeping it secret so nobody finds out (so when they reunite, it's great because now they can be open). Couldn't find a way to put that into a simple sequence of sentences.

The art is very good for not having a tablet.

Wait, really? Thanks!!!

I appreciate your observation ^_^

Am I missing something here, but whatever happened to the brown-haired girl?

Yeah, you are. They're...kinda the same person. Remember, they made that childhood promise, and that was the key for them to reunite at the end? It's just that the girl dyed her hair afterwards to black. I considered having the last scene have her hair be brown, but then everyone would be wondering 'what about the black-haired girl! this isn't romantic at all' xD

What sort of school project was it, anyway? I'm curious.

Oh and it did remind me somewhat of Jun Maeda's (the guy who wrote Clannad and Angel Beats and stuff) Owari no Hoshi no Love Song.

Ooohhh, I like that song. Might use it in my next tale~

And it was basically a project about having to make a video, comic, poster, or whatever about a single subject we've learned in the past semester. I chose the most convenient path, Character Building (yes, that's a subject here), in which we learned about Dating & Relationships. It was much easier than say, Science or anything.
