Night
Time: 2.5 hours Layer count: 72 100% scratched excluding the texture, almost forgot how gratifying vectoring can be. cnc.
.Rai
That's actually horrendously impressive.
Catman25
Imo texture kinda ruins it for me (not like completely, but a decent amount). But since you didn't scratch it I guess that's more me criticizing your judgment rather than your skill.
Night
Two completely different pieces, in my opinion.
.Rai
I far prefer it with the marbled texture. A plain out vector always looks slightly unfinished to me. I also realised that the anatomy or at least the perspective is a little dodgy. It's not massive, but noticeable (mostly with hair contours and stuff). The texture, dare I say it, hides it well. Catman25
Two completely different pieces, in my opinion. Agreed. The textural component kinda feels like a clash of two different media. This piece to me has a more simplistic synergy. But whatever. Seems like I'm the minority.
Madsen
To each their own Catman, looks great both ways. Nightie knows what I think; still waiting on that PSD/XCF (.xcf IS the Gimp extension, right? I'm not making a complete arse of my self?)
Night
I far prefer it with the marbled texture. A plain out vector always looks slightly unfinished to me. I also realised that the anatomy or at least the perspective is a little dodgy. It's not massive, but noticeable (mostly with hair contours and stuff). The texture, dare I say it, hides it well. Partially I'd say that would be due to not knowing where I wanted to go with the piece towards the end. As for the whole unfinished thing, I was pretty much going for that. I was trying to do with a vector piece, what Agnes Cecile does with her water colors. It has the feeling of being unfinished, but at the same time, she tends to single out a key feature and focus on that (hair, eyes, skin) and make that the focal. Thanks for the cnc though, it's always more than appreciated. Agreed. The textural component kinda feels like a clash of two different media. This piece to me has a more simplistic synergy. But whatever. Seems like I'm the minority. Legitimately just think the two exempt two completely different emotions. I'm having trouble deciding which to feature in my portfolio. To each their own Catman, looks great both ways. Nightie knows what I think; still waiting on that PSD/XCF (.xcf IS the Gimp extension, right? I'm not making a complete arse of my self?) Literally 70 layers of single strands of hair. I'll get it out if people actually want it though.
