Lunar Origins
Concerning races, are there a subset of people unable to use magic that are shunned by the upper classes/hid from society if they're upper class? I think something neat would be a silencing disease that would act like an virus that passes through blood. Think AIDS, but more magical.
Aix
"magical AIDS" okey no, I'm actually sirius DO NOT IGNORE MEE!!!!! No, just a thought. Sky Palace? Or save the idea for later. Or scratch it. I was thinking a mythical race that appears as an alternative(not a replacing kind) to the nobles; something like offering the poor a chance to rise to power, or "the fated one" finding the place when he finally gets enough money to afford a ship ride. Thoughts? Other sectors have other races. Though something like an organisation trying to take over or maybe a new race appearing is possible. There is a race(one I'm currently in the process of fleshing out) that is extremely magical but very susceptible to disease, well sickness in general. Lunar Origins
My power went out last night and I got REALLY bored and began writing this: TREATISE ON THE TREATMENT AND PROCEDURES REGARDING MAGICAL AND NON-MAGICAL ENTITIES CARRYING THE FOLLOWING AND MOST DEADLY OF DISEASES: LUMINOSIS APOCRYPHITOSIS FAULTROSIS ARCADOSIS | OMITTED PER ORDER OF HIGHER SYSTANIAN POWERS | PERYTRION (COLLOQUIALLY KNOWN AS "MAGICAL DEFICIENCY SYNDROME") THE INFORMATION IN THIS PACKET HAS BEEN COMPILED AND RELEASED UNDER SYSTANIAN RESEARCH CODES IV AND XXVI. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS ONE ALLOWED TO HANDLE A SITUATION PERTAINING TO THE ABOVE DISEASES WITHOUT CONTACTING THE MINISTRY OF SYSTANIAN HEALTH. UNAUTHERIZED HANDLING OF A SITUATION REGARDING THESE DISEASES, WHETHER BY FALSE IDENTIFICATION OR SUCH, IS PUNISHABLE BUT NOT LIMITED TO DISAPPEARANCE, JAILING, OR PUBLIC EXECUTION. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Table of contents ---------------------------------------------------------------- 1... IDENTIFYING DISEASES 1A... DISEASE IDENTIFIERS 2... LUMINOSIS 3... APCRYPHITOSIS 4... FAULTROSIS 5... PERYTRION (OMITTED) 6... PERYTRION ( I I ) (OMITTED) 7... EMERGENCY CONTACTS ---------------------------------------------------------------- IDENTIFYING A DISEASE | ---------------------------------------------------------------- Identifying what kind of disease one is afflicted by is of the most vital importance to the SPHP. In doing so, the contaminated area can be cleansed of toxins and rendered safe for the normal being to live there. Helping us identify what kind of disease is present before contacting the PSHP is one of the most vital and heroic things a citizen may do in helping Systanian society. ================================================================ 1A | IDENTIFYING AND HANDLING THE SITUATION ================================================================ Luminosis | Luminosis is, of the four deadly diseases, far and away the most treatable. Luminosis is caused by one infected with a Lumite mosquito's bite; when bitten, the mosquito releases a powerful sedative into the system, causing the host to go into a trancelike state. The trademark Lumite glow, as well as a passive-aggressive walk portrayed by the victim, are the trademarks of Luminosis. Luminosis, if untreated, will cause the subject to begin undergoing a severely accelerated state of RIGOR MORTIS unless otherwise treated. Bodies that cannot rot are not susceptible to this feature. As the sedative leaves the system, the decay will stop as well, though body functions may have already ceased at that point due to rot, resulting in the death of the victim. Victims still conscious at the time of 'awakening' are a danger to all around them; noticing that their own body is under decay, their brain will trigger an involuntary fight or flight response, sending them into a rage, attempting to harm those in close proximity. Maeriberii Haan
So, anything else needed to be addressed before this could officially be launched?
Lunar Origins
I dunno. I'm just all around really excited to be participating in this. I've got a penchant for making up miscellaneous lore, though (see: diseases above), so if someone needs some random information filled/semi-official IC documents I would be MORE than happy to write them. Mugendramon
Can I get a tl;dr on this thread? And also what does exactly make this one RP forum-wide?
Aix
Can I get a tl;dr on this thread? And also what does exactly make this one RP forum-wide? Basically anyone can create an OoC/RP with Valrune as a setting and everything will interact with everything.
Mugendramon
Basically anyone can create an OoC/RP with Valrune as a setting and everything will interact with everything. Soooo... This is YCM-plays-Asimov, basically.
Aix
Yes. Many roleplay sites work this way where everyone is in one world but multiple interacting threads, though I believe YCM has a lot more freedom due to being a much smaller community and the fact that I'll always be keeping an eye on everything.
