Will elves/dwarves be in other parts of the land?

Yes. I have an Alfheim planned.

You will be free to create other lands after running them by us as well.
The Valrune Confederation is a large area watched over by ten Towers and is divided between 5 nations currently at peace. Slavery exists in all countries to varying degrees except the Corrian Republic. The Confederation is facing a severe crisis of overpopulation and insufficient food and resources and tension is rising. Just as mass culling was starting to be discussed deep within the secret political chambers of the various monarchs, the Mage’s Guild, a massive political and scholarly organisation announced that they had a solution to all their problems - a way to restore or build towers in the Wilderness and expand the available land.

The main races are humans, dwarves, caitsith and lizardmen, but there is a small group of elves who migrated about 240 years ago from a land somewhat to the east known as Alfheim.
Miriadel, historically hailed as the Kingdom of Flowers, is the largest and likely most powerful country in the Valrune Confederation. Once a land of lush forests and beautiful meadows full of the wildflowers that gave it its epithet, nearly the entirety has been converted into farmland and orchards to support its starving populace. King Endel rules this once-great land from his Marble Throne in Lylia, guided by the Sage’s Council, an assembly of twelve noblemen, mostly second or third sons, who abandoned their titles to serve the king for life as his advisers.

Miriadel is divided into seven Holds, six of which are governed by Viceroys whilst the seventh is administered by the central government itself. The holds are furthered divided amongst various lords and nobles.

The few annals that remain say Miriadel was founded over 1500 years ago by the legendary High King, Arthur, making it one of the oldest nations in existence, able to survive the various cataclysmic events that strangled the world and left it the way it is today. Indeed, Miriadel boasts a very large and powerful army, ready to take on anything that puts the kingdom in harm’s way, and the champions amongst them are the renowned White Rose Knights.

The Mage’s Guild, despite their greatest efforts, has only established the most tenuous holds in this country, with only a minor headquarters in the second largest city of Dahlia, of the Whitewall Hold, and minor offices throughout, as the kingdom already has its own long-established Order of Mirian Wizards.

----------

Rumour has it that the King is growing old and has contracted an illness and his eldest son, Prince Karl, is a spoiled prat as the King was too busy to properly raise his child, which is the custom with Miriadel’s Kings. Plots and nefarious agreements are being woven in the White Capital while the Viceroys and lords outside are gathering their armies.

The Kingdom of Btandor, although the smallest, is the second most powerful country in the Valrune Confederation with a well-organised force of elite soldiers and mages, slaves trained from birth. The Mage’s Guild has nearly no power in this country as the Grand Patriarch, a lizardman without a name as it is relinquished when he received the title, has a very strict hold on all proceedings within the state and keeps others from interfering into politics.

Proper organisation and discrimination against outsiders has prevented Btandor from becoming too overpopulated and thus the economy in the country remains stable if not still outright flourishing. The countryside consists greatly of rocky outcrops but does have a deal of fertile land, all of which has been used to grow crops.

Btandor was founded about 400 years ago by a powerful lizardman merchant who wished to raise the social status of all lizardmen, thus the population in Btandor is predominantly lizardmen and any other races found there are generally slaves or diplomats.

Btandor’s land is divided amongst Houses, each ruled by their own patriarch. These Houses hold absolute unquestionable authority, answering only to the Grand Patriarch himself.

Originally the Kingdom of Abram, it reformed 132 years ago as a republic when various nobles staged a coup d’etat and overthrew the queen. Many reforms were brought about in the name of the “Corrian Dream”, an abstract vision, by their leader, a ludicrous but poetic aristocrat called Corrian, of a perfect world. The republic is run by a direct democracy, each decision is taken to a vote of all landowners who care to attend the assembly, though dirty methods are often employed to sway the decision or make sure certain people do not attend.

The Republic is falling into ruin due to their policies of charity and healthcare which drain the country’s coffers at an astonishing rate, especially with the country’s overpopulation. Many people immigrate to the Republic every day, hoping to get a piece of the Corrian Dream.

The Mage’s Guild has a powerful hold here as the weak political organisation of the country allowed them to easily infiltrate and bribe.

Although the Republic has a great deal of land, forestry is still in the process and the lack of organisation makes progress very slow. Many countries are contemplating invading the Republic.

The country has a relatively equal distribution of all races present.

Delphyre is a rather poor nation in the mountains with a puppet king, a human called Agnol V, controlled by the magnates that own the mining companies. The kingdom does suffer from overpopulation, but not to the extent that some other countries do. The magnates are in constant squabble and conflict, which often leads to a great deal of bloodshed behind the scenes. Most of the Confederation’s metals are imported from Delphyre and the mountains have nearly been hollowed out entirely. Collapses are frequent in the country’s stone cities.

The population is consists of mainly humans and dwarves, with a decent number of caitsith and lizardmen.

The Mage’s Guild is quite powerful here, forming strong connections with each of the various companies. Here is also supposedly where the headquarters of the Midnight Guild, an infamous assassin’s organisation, is located.

Delphyre has a long, bloody history of revolutions and civil wars and was believed to be originally founded approximately 700 years ago by Agnol the Mighty, a dwarven clan leader.

A country similar in organisation to Miriadel, with with hilly terrain and considerably less useful farmland available, however, many rivers flow through the country carrying large schools of fish. The country is relatively poor, but hosts a decently powerful army supplemented by the Mage’s Guild’s combat wizards. The king is a caitsith by the name of Nantus and he has been wary enough to minimize the Mage’s Guild’s role in the kingdom.

I actually do not think the Eragon magic system is suitable for this RP, as it is extremely straightforward and would not be able to well explain the magical phenomena that occur (aka, your ideas of endless labyrinths and such).

Anyway, created the Valrune Confederation as a base starting point for this RP. I think we can start once we get the magic sorted out.

I like the name Valrune. Reminds me of Phantasy Star for some reason...

Are we going to make the lands all connected by land or will there be some sort of seas/oceans in the mix?

Has towns and castles and powerful armies, but anything outside the castles and towns is farmland.

This is what the land will look like.

Well, we can discuss more on it once the magic system and it's lore cause I'll have to adjust the races lore around it.

I currently understand it as to be like the Tiefling race from D&D and Forgotten Realms.

At any rate, we need a title for this RP, a name to call the overall land as well as decide the magic system. On second thought, the Eragon system-ish thing does work, though I would like some modifications on it. Please do say something, if only to comment to say that you think it is fine/good.

Basically, Magic is the conversion of one's energy/stamina/life force into phenomena that affects world in one way or another and there is an infinite variety of what you can do. People will often be adept at one thing more so than another, and certain materials aid in the casting of certain magics (for example, a fire dragon's scale may aid in the casting of heat and fire spells). Those materials, usually called reagents by mages, are used to both make up for or supplement your casting ability. Casting magic requires great concentration. There also exist artifacts to enhance magic and materials can contain magic. Enchantments and such work by storing a spell within an artifact and letting it constantly release it. Within the Towers' radii, enchantments cannot last very long.

The various phenomena in the world are often caused by pure magical beings and the Towers are constructs that reject such purified magic. Notably, wizards are stronger outside of a Tower's range, however, as are a warrior/any other class's natural strength as greater magical content in the air itself strengthens all living things, except those who actively use it for magic (this is obviously done for balance). Many god-like beings of pure magic dwell in the land, many are only subconscious, fading away or only partially existent on this plane and partially existent on another plane but nevertheless have a massive effect on the world, spawning creatures, calling monsters from other planes and even warping time and space.
STUPID THINGS THAT GO WITHOUT SAYING
01. Links to roleplays on other forums or websites is forbidden.
02. Post count is disabled in the out-of-character (OOC) forum only. Keep this in mind when posting.
03. In-character (IC) posts and threads belong in the main forum, while OOC posts and planning/registration threads go in the OOC subforum. Don’t get them confused.
04. Any work that would warrant a PG-13 or higher rating (through swearing, drug or sexual references, violence, etc) must put a warning of some sort in the thread title. You also cannot portray any graphically sexual or violent content, or anything else that would require an M rating.
05. You must only post your own work. Plagiarism of any form, including posting other people’s work sans permission; claiming someone else’s work as your own; or posting blatant derivatives is forbidden. If using outside material, please link to the original source. Anyone found breaking this rule will be banned without argument.
06. In the roleplay forums alone, bumping any thread that is over 6 weeks old is considered necrobumping and will result in a thread lock and a warning.

CREATING AND GMING
07. Roleplay planning and discussion of ideas should be kept to the stickied planning thread. Do not post a separate thread.
08. When creating a new area or doing something that will very likely affect other storylines in the forum-wide RP, be sure to first check with the forum moderators preferably both, in a PM.
09. All roleplay application forms require at minimum a field each for name, gender and age, as well as a space for appearance (either a picture and/or 1+ paragraph of description, at the GM’s discretion) and personality (1+ paragraph). Additional fields are up to the GM to add. Other structures for applications, such as freeform or diary-style, must indicate that this information or the equivalent is somehow expressed.
10. Do not bribe other members to join your roleplay by means of points or reps, and only advertise your roleplay in your signature.
11. It is the GM’s responsibility to run their RP smoothly. Inability to do so will result in the roleplay forum staff interfering, and often not for the better.
12. The OOC thread of a roleplay is not a chatbox; minimize posting whenever possible. When submitting an application, please limit your posts to posting the application form itself and letting the host know you've made any changes requested. When actually roleplaying, keep on topic and only discuss the plot and characters of the RP. Any thread found to be significantly off-topic or otherwise "spammy" will be locked, and its members will be appropriately punished.
13. Be sure to read all relevant information in the Database, which will be constantly updated, and be up to date with the World Events and Announcements thread.

ROLEPLAYING
14. Avoid godmodding (performing actions that cannot be defended against or giving oneself inordinate amounts of power), metagaming (using information that couldn’t be known in-character), and powerplaying (controlling another player’s actions without their permission). These are all grounds for forced expulsion from the roleplay by the mods.
15. All roleplays must have the following rules posted so that they are clearly visible in some form, and all members must follow said rules without argument. Failure to do so will result in a warning, and not adding them within 24 hours of the warning will result in a lock. (These are collectively known as the Advanced Clause.)
a. All IC posts require at least 4 lines of text, or roughly 100 words at standard formatting.
b. Posting in script format is forbidden.
c. Copy-pasting or “expying” characters without tailoring them to the new roleplay is forbidden.
16. Do not use chat speak or smilies in IC posts. Spellcheck and proofread for grammar and spelling mistakes before posting.
17. The use of "Zalgo text" is allowed, as long as you don't go overboard.
18. PM the RP section moderators if you have anything important and will affect others to update to the World Events and Announcements thread.
I'v got a place in mind to.

Zinnada which is surrounded by the Oumnike( Hells Horseshoe which is essentially America's Ring of Fire equivalent). There is only 1 Tower in Zinnada and this is were the majority of Ellisions reside.

I currently understand it as to be like the Tiefling race from D&D and Forgotten Realms.

It's somewhat like that yes.

I think the Eragon system is good.
