That also works, but then we'll have to create a crafting and alchemy system which would be a huge pain. Any idea on how to solve this?

We don't have to. Just certain materials have certain properties and prices can be defined. I could like have a dragonhide cuirass or something and it just has extremely great durability as well as flame resistance. You could just say you are a good blacksmith or something. Though, of course, we do have to watch for overpowered people.

But at least some general guidelines should be made, like the property and compatibility of some materials.

Considering the sheer number of monsters and thus materials, I don't think that'll help. If anyone creates a rule, properties or something about certain materials, then I suppose we could create a list of what has been established so that nothing goes against it.

What about legendary objects? Cause I'v got one in mind that I wouldn't mind doing an race to get it.

Sure, there can be that. Anyone can just run their storyline and have such things, just run the main points by me or Phos so that said item is not gamebreaking or if it is, it doesn't screw everything up.

Ah, awesome.

Now lets address something that's rather important. It involves PvE/PvP & Death

This being such a vast and possible never ending RP. Should death be by choice of the one about to die or the one that is doing the killing? Now you might say well the one who is about to die should have the choice. The problem with this though is from an rp perspective it won't make sense especially from the perspective of a characters personality.

Example

(Character A) blood thirsty Giant has pinned (Character B/you) a human down and the human cant think of anyway to get out of the way of the Giants club about to crush its body.

Obviously, it wouldn't make much sense for the giant to have a change of heart and stop the club, as that would be breaking character.

Many things like that can sort of fall under godmodding or powerplaying. Ultimately, if things go out of hand we mods will intervene as we are technically the hosts.

So basically Deus Ex Machina

Anyway, death should be from the one who die, not the killer. The matter can be discussed in the OOC or PM, as always.

But pinning a character to a no-escape situation is bad, I guess.

The situation I presented was basic one that could occur through the course of the fight. Where both rpers are aware of what will happen.

OMG how have I not noticed this??

After reading the entire thread, I'm in love with loads of the ideas (Monster Hunter and Zendikar; awesome idea)

I also like the Idea of hosting your own sections (Brilliant, as it will [obviously] make the whole RP more immersive and the more in-depth RPers would get to have a lot to read/do)

[spoiler=6 (sorta) Start-up Races]

This is basically my list of what I think would be an ideal set of start-up races and their basic traits.

I decided to only use 3 focus-points for the races at the moment for the sake of simplicity.

1. Humans - The basic, all-around race. No great defects or bonuses.

2. Elves - 1. High Elves - The more known elves. (Good in Speed. Weak in Intelligence.)

                2. Drow - The far less known, normally ground-dwelling elves. (Good in Speed. Weak in Strength.)

                3. Grey Elves - Slightly rarer (than High) elves. (Good in Intelligence. Weak in Strength.)

3. Dwarves - A short, ground-dwelling race. (Good in Strength. Weak in Intelligence.)

4. Khajit/Cat-person - Feline-like humanoid race. (Good in Speed. Weak in Intelligence.)

5. Orcs - Massive humanoid race. (Good in Strength. Weak in Speed.)

6. (Not quite fully thought up yet) Sub-human - A human with an added trait, which also adds a defect. (i.e., werewolf, dhampir/full vampire, Half-elf)

[/spoiler]

I don't actually have any thoughts on the overall world, save for I think a Skyrim-esque one would be fitting.

In terms of a crafting/brewing system, basic objects for such deeds should be sold at stores (if possible. Maybe a topic for a store could be made?) and objects acquired while adventuring should have their traits defined by AIX or Phos (or, if anyone, whoever is in charge of defining item traits). (i.e., A steely hide you collect, ask if you can craft armor/brew a potion out of it. [Steelhide Armor / Ironskin potions?])

Let's just decide that each tower has a safety radius of 100 km, resulting in an approximate land mass of 31416 km2 for each.

Anyway, we have to start building this world. I'm terrible with names, so if you have better ones, tell me.

[Insert Name] Confederation

The biggest known safe area created by eight active towers and despite this, it's been reduced to a sad state due to overpopulation and poverty. The confederation is a precarious alliance of five independently governed states.

Miriadel - the largest of the nations. Nearly the entirety has been converted into farmland.

Kingdom of Btandor - a small but rich nation ruled by the Patriarch. It is very a closed country with strict borders, engaging only in trade, thus manages to minimize overpopulation.

Corrian Republic - a medium-small democratic state with a failing economy. Slavery is abolished and it believes itself to be superior to the other states. Large numbers of people flock to the Republic every day and they started to close down their borders

Delphyre - a medium sized mountainous country with a thriving mining industry, but you can't eat iron.

Razent - like a smaller Miriadel with a slightly better situation.

Many races can be found here:

Human - most common race

(suggest more, no elf races though)

>Charity. No wonder the economy is failing. Well, the pursue of the Corrian Dream aside, I wonder what else is going on for Miriadel, since a nation only filled with farmlands would be dull.

Has towns and castles and powerful armies, but anything outside the castles and towns is farmland.

Ellison(My own custom race I'v made for Morrowind): This race consists of any race that has inverted their minds to were they exist outside of their bodies. Because of this they are extremely proficient at magic. The cost of this however, is that they are very susceptible to any disease or virus along with having a rather frail body.

This race sound good?

Sounds more like a condition than a race.
