Premier Alexander Romanov
Why was the site down for four days?!?
Instinct
I got to study for finals with one less distraction :)
evilfusion
I have no idea what was wrong, only that the display saying the site was down said there was an issue with the host not connecting or something. Only the site owner would really be able to resolve it by contacting the provider or whatever. So either the problem worked itself out, or YCMaker got it resolved. Either way, I'm just glad the site's back up.
Cin
Hopefully when more of the mods get on we can look into why in the Admin CP. There was no scheduled maintenance for IPBoards during the downtime according to their forum and it doesn't look like a forum upgrade was done either as we're still running an older version than the late October release. Premier Alexander Romanov
So the site just...crashed? What got it working again?
Sleepy
That's interesting to hear. Usually we common people don't get informed about maintenance taking the site down so I didn't think much of it myself until the end of the second day. Glad to see it's back up somehow, regardless. Sad it took all the weekend and exactly the weekend, but at least it's back.

Sad it took all the weekend and exactly the weekend, but at least it's back. By the way, it might be a good idea for Mods to post in the News if there ever will be scheduled downtime for forums, so people aren't taken by surprise if the site does go down for maintenance purposes. Cin
You can check using the IPBoards to see if maintenance is going on without signing in. It's difficult to know because we mods don't have the IPBoard account, but YCMaker does, so I don't know if we can get an early heads up. I don't know what took for the forum down, but with so limited control because of YCMaker not being here it makes it harder to resolve.
Sleepy
I guess being able to make an admin account doesn't really help with those things. That or the shared admin account had to be shut down for other reasons unrelated to this insident. Or it was all lost when Pike unmodded herself (because she kinda was the admin for a little bit). Soooo I'm guessing YCMaker saw the issue.......eventually. Then fixed whatever was wrong.
Kyng's Old Account
For what it is worth, I'm not too bothered about it. YCM always seems to have a Winter Hibernation period. It is an inconvenience, sure, but it makes YCM what YCM truly is: a grizzly bear.
Legend Zero
Either someone forgot to pay a bill or that big snow/ice storm did something. Wasn't it the server that was down?Or....the usual something happened and YCMaker just now decided to check the site.

Merci
Either someone forgot to pay a bill or that big snow/ice storm did something. Wasn't it the server that was down? Or....the usual something happened and YCMaker just now decided to check the site. It's definitely a problem related to YCMaker, and whether it's due to overactivity or due to bills, he could've fixed this on Day 1 had he just remembered to check this site out earlier. goddamnit names are a pain
We could have just been trolled. I think it was to tell us we are too attached to this site. xD
Sleepy
We could have just been trolled. I think it was to tell us we are too attached to this site. xD Considering it lasted the whole weekend. I could see it. Barely past midnight in my timezone, on Monday technically, it comes back. That or it's a cruel coincidence. xP

So, it wouldn't be surprising he would check out a problem late, just because he hardly shows up.
