Wal-Mart & Black Friday

Thar

Recommended Posts

I drove into the plaza that Walmart was in just to see how full the lot is. There are 3 major stores in that plaza as well as 2 outlets. The place has got to be a square mile in size, and it's overflowing to the point where people are parked on the shoulder of the highway that borders it.

I also heard in some places that people are stabbing people for good parking spots.

Know what's even more interesting? The people getting injured will be paying a ton due to the medical bills. So much for savings.

Yeah, it's ironic that people are going to be spending MORE on their injuries just because they wanted to spend LESS on stuff.

When things go on sale for that low, people are going to go berserk and buy in bulk.

(The last time I went to Black Friday at 12 am at Walmart, a couple men ripped open boxes of toys like wolves do on caught meat...tear into them violently)

Though I don't recall anyone getting trampled at a Walmart where I live [as far as I'm concerned since I just tell parents to buy stuff on Amazon or go Walmart/Target on the normal days when people aren't crazy]

I used to go, but lines were crowded as hell (especially when they did it at 4-5 am in the morning) and whatever was mentioned above.

As much as I'd like to get stuff for less, definitely not worth getting trampled over or instigating fights with crazy people trying to buy 10+ flatscreen TVs or whatever.

That also includes the shopping malls; not sure how violent people are over there on Black Fridays but there is some degree of violence/disorder occurring there. They're crowded too (one of my friends told me that all of the major centers down here had no parking [and people lining up hours before the sales even start]. Mind you, they're relatively large as well)

But yeah, online is safer (though there's the risk of them not having stuff you want or they won't ship certain items to places b/c of distance problems). Or just wait until after Xmas is over when people are either returning stuff they don't want or retailers try to get rid of extras.

(It's sad that these are grown adults fighting over stuff like little children, especially when there actually are a few kids who go to these things. Way to set an example...)
