Fusion X. Denver
http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/san-francisco-calling-batkid-fight-crime-20901893 Long story short, Make A Wish Foundation got over 12K people in San Francisco to help this 5 year-old kid (who's in remission from leukemia) be Batman for a day which involved freeing a woman from a bomb, stopping the Riddler from robbing a bank, and other stuff. Pretty awesome. UPDATE: 2 of the Batmans praise Batkid for his awesomeness. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/16/christian-bale-and-ben-affleck-praise-batkid
Cin
Awesome idea and just what children need to forget about health problems. I'm trying to remember if my cousin was helped by this charity when he was younger (He suffered from Kidney problems and has now had a successful transplant). goddamnit names are a pain
That was...motivating, and awesome. My heart goes out to that kid.
Βyakuya
Wow, now that's one happy child. Now if they'll kill off his parents... It's very heartwarming for kindness to go out this far, but getting 12K people to see a kid do "heroic feats"...that much privilege for coping with leukemia eh? Fusion X. Denver
Added this news to the OP, Christian Bale and Ben Affleck commented on how great Batkid was. That makes all of this even greater for the kid. But yeah, I was surprised that Make A Wish was able to do something on this big a scale. Makes me wish kids could get wishes granted like this more often.
Just Crouton
How do we know this isn't just Bat-Mite playing a trick on us?
