"Hey-a, Bowser," Mario asked the great Koopa King. "You-a sure you want-a your son fighting in these-a tournaments?"

Bowser laughed proudly at the plumber's question. "Why of course, Mario! Junior needs to learn what it means to be my son, and take up the fight in the Smash Championships!"

"A-well, okay, then," Mario said with a shrug. "If-a you say so."

Suddenly, Wario arrived, muttering something under his breath.

"What's the matter with you?" Bowser asked.

"Ah, shut it," Wario said. "Some stupid pretty boy crashed into my place and claimed it as his own."

Mario raised an eyebrow. "Then why are you not-a saving it?"

Wario stopped where he said, but began to storm off once more.

"Heh, you get your butt handed to you, didn't you?" Bowser grinned.

"SHUT UP!" Wario shouted. "Heh, just you wait, Koopa. This year, I'm going to be king."

Bowser stroked his chin, an idea forming in his head. "Mario, would it be possible to set up a little match between Wario and my boy?"

Wario burst into laughter. "Oh God, you brought your runt? Oh, what's the matter, Mr. Bigshot Bowser got tired of losing that he decided to send his kids in to save his good name?"

Bowser grabbed Wario by the collar, growling as flames formed around his mouth. "You know, I don't need the tournament to teach you a lesson or two."

Mario began to wave his arms, trying to get their attention. "Come on-a, fellas! We don't-a need to resort to something like-a that!"

Bowser glared at Mario for a moment, but dropped Wario to the ground. "See you two at the tournament."

As the Koopalings gathered in the podium, ready to watch their brother fight in the tournament, Bowser stood beside his son, Bowser Jr., his hands on the small Koopaling's shoulders.

"Mah boi," Bowser began. "This tournament is what all true Koopas strive for. I know you will make me proud."

Bowser Jr. laughed. "You can count on me, pops! I'll teach that fatso Wario a thing or two! He'll rue the day he crossed the great Koopa family."

Bowser shed a single tear, which he wiped away with his claw. "My little boy is all grown up."

With no more words to say, but pride in his heart, Bowser left his son's side, taking a seat with his other children. Luigi and Peach jumped in surprise when the Koopa was so close to them, but Mario managed to calm them down somewhat.

Wario walked onto the stadium, guffawing as the audience booed at his entrance. He looked down at Bowser Jr. and sneered. "I got to admit, you're a lot shorter than I remember."

"And you're even fatter," Bowser Jr. teased.

Wario was unamused by this comment, and simply turned around, taking his place, waiting for the fight to begin and cracking his knuckles. "I'm going to enjoy this."

When the bell finally rang, a small, green light flickered just above them, and from that little, and object fell to the ground. It was a ball, red on one side, and white on the other, with a button at the very center of it.

"Hey, I thought we agreed on no items!" Bowser shouted at Mario.

Mario's eyes widened in horror. "We did."

Bowser Jr. and Wario immediately darted for the the PokéBall, but just as Junior was about to grab it, Wario used an uppercut, knocking the Koopa back, and allowing Wario to grab the PokéBall. "Alright, let's see what's in this little thing." Wario clicked the button at the center of the PokéBall, tossing the capsule to the ground as it opened, a brilliant white light shining from the center of it. As the light faded, Mario, Bowser, and Bowser Jr. watched as they saw a Pokémon none of them expected to see. This creature walked on all fours, and had a glorious white form. A blue ring formed around its waist, while the beast's head gazed fiercely at the young Koopa. Wario smiled, overjoyed by what he had summoned. "Heh, Arceus, eh? Well then, go get him!"

Arceus reared back its head as the ring along its waist began to shine brightly, the Pokémon preparing to deliver its Judgment upon Bowser Jr.
