Red-Eyes Equivalent of "Maiden with Eyes of Blue"

Okay, so I created this card to basically be the Red-Eyes equivalent of "Maiden with Eyes of Blue". That's why it's Level 2, so that you can still Summon Azure-Eyes using Red-Eyes and this card. Also, I justified it being Level 2 by giving it some ATK and DEF. Tell me what you guys think.

Type: Warrior/Tuner

ATK: 1000 / DEF: 1000

 

Effect:

When this card is targeted for an attack: You can negate the attack, and if you do, change the battle position of this card, then you can Special Summon 1 "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. During either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated that targets this face-up card (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon 1 "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. You can only use 1 "Paladin with Eyes of Red" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

 

Yes, I realize the effect is exactly the same as "Maiden with Eyes of Blue", but that was the point. I wanted to make an equivalent of Maiden for the Red-Eyes, so this is what I got.

I see what you're trying to do here, and it's a good idea, but you really need a synchro to go with this.

I know you put at the top that it was made to still support Azure-eyes Silver Dragon, but me and quite a few other people don't like it when Red-Eyes and Blue-Eyes mix. For what it's worth, it can't say I'd go with this instead of Maiden with Blue Eyes since Blue-Eyes White Dragon has 3000 attack, and Red-Eyes has 2400. But because Red-Eyes only has 2400, people are more likely to attack this card, since 2400 is fairly low for a Level 7 monster these days.
