Question about XYZ Summoning

Ok, this might sound stupid, and I apologize if someone's asked this already, but what's XYZ Summoning?

I'd really like it if someone wouuld explain it to me.

It's pretty straightforward. For example, let's look at Maestroke the Symphony Djinn. His requirements are "2 Level 4 monsters." So, to Xyz Summon him, you simply need to have two Level 4 monsters on your side of the field, whether they are naturally Level 4 (and are still actually Level 4) or modified into being Level 4 via card effects. You put the two Level 4 monsters into the same zone, then place Maestroke on top of them. They are his Xyz Material Monsters. If it says "2 Level 4 LIGHT monsters" like Starliege Paladynamo, then the required Xyz Material Monsters must be LIGHT Attribute.

Actually, Sakura, I'm kinda new to the game. I know the basics, but I've never really played, so that's about all I know, except what I've seen in the anime.  I've never played mostly beacause I find other things more interesting and I lack an opponent.
