Number C107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon (ANIME)

Recommended Posts

I think this is the one OP Dragon that doesn't seem like BS. It doesn't summon anything out of anywhere, and has a rather unique effect. Not an instant win either. That attacking thing is pretty nifty, but pales compared to Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. My friend once summoned him and managed to use his effect to attack 10 times that turn. With 9500 ATK. This guy can't compare with attacking, except that his is somewhat easier to use. Maybe.

Instead this guy has one of the strongest control effects in the game. Allows you perform loops multiple times, and given his current wording: You can essentially loop his own summon if you so wanted. He also combines with backrow hate amazingly.

He is leagues better than Neo Galaxy (Right now) He might be less aggressive, though consitently getting 13500 swing power is really good (Compared to the semi-situational one that NEGPD has) and is less consitent to summon... he still beats him in terms of power as it stands.

It's extremely stupid in that it can reset the turn as often in a tur as it has materials for. Given that as I've just realised, in the turn you summon him, you'll get Tachyon back, and the RUM you used to summon him, you can essentially loop two copies infinitely as it stands (I think at least), which means it's a legitamate way of getting sparks OTK.

How would this work with Xyz Materials? I assume it won't do anything to them, right?

That's the big question I'm wondering.

If it counts them as used cards (Since it says from anywhere) then it essentially causes an infinite loop with itself by getting back Tachyon and the RUM you used each time you use the effect. Combining that with any generic burn spell eh voila. That is an OTK.

This doesn't affect things like adding cards to your hand, summon, and destroyed stuffs, right?

It would affect summon I beleive. But not the other two. I can't remember what's actually classififed as being used, according to the Prohibtion rulings it includes:

includes Normal Summoning/Special Summoning the declared Monster, activating the declared Monster's effect, activating the declared Spell/Trap Card, changing the declared Monster's Battle Position, or attacking with the declared Monster.[1] In general, it includes any use for the monster other than as a cost

and more importantly: Using a Monster as a Synchro Material Monster is considered "playing" ("using") the Monster. A Monster declared by "Prohibition" cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster.[3

We can infer from that that includes being used as Xyz Material.... which is terrifying.

Except you won't know what turn that is until it does, and by that time if both players don't remember the turn-start game state they may argue about it, and the judge would have nothing to go on.

I really don't think that anyone's memory is that bad. Anyway, the turn player could just take notes of what's on the field by saying that they're going to need to recall it for a card but then that would just give away what they're about to do.
