Wow, I liked those cards though a little of 'em are OP (like queen). About the OCG: Most of the time when you're using "then", you shouldn't. For example:
Once per turn, if this card inflict battle damage to your opponent: You can Special Summon 1 "Chess - The Black Pawn" from your Deck or hand to the field in face-up ATK position. If this card is destroyed by battle, then you can Special Summon a "Chess - The Black Pawn" monster from your Deck or your hand to your side of the field in face-up ATK position.
About the arts for the cards: Those are AMAZING! BUT you HAVE to change the pic of the field spell. If you want help with choosing a pic or searching for one you can always PM me and I'll be glad to help 'cause this set is awsome.

By the way, I also saw you wrote that you will change the effects of the black pieces to something else. DON'T DO IT, that's a great idea to make them with the same effect, I really really like it!

WOW, am interested in this, i haven't read the cards yet, but do look surely forward to my post. I hope this is all of it, not any other cards are coming/added onto this set as of now which had been posted, i won't rate/ comment on them unless necessarily needed.

Fascinating. I presume future Spells and Traps will be based on various formations and tactics (Fianchetto, En Passant, Castling, Pins, Skewers, Forks, Promotion, etc.) And what is Chess without anything based off Checkmate?

Now, for the available cards...
This card Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. This card can only Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing 2 "Chess" monsters that you control. This card gains ATK and DEF points equal to the combined original ATK of the monsters you Tributed for the Summoning of this card this way. This card cannot be destroyed. selected as a target of an attack, or selected as a target of a card effect If you control a "Chess" monster, besides except "Chess - The White King", your opponent cannot target this card for attacks or with card effects, also this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects.
So if I revive the White King by, say, Call of the Haunted, after successfully Special Summoning him first, his stats are a big fat 0. Then again, he does have an incredible self-protection effect.
If this card was Tribute Summoned by Tributing 2 "Chess" monsters, then this card gains this effect:

*Once per turn: You can destroy one target 1 card on your opponent's side of the field controls; destroy it.
Blue-Eyes stats on a LV7, with an effect on top? Maybe bump it to LV8 or slightly reduce its ATK.
While you control this monster is in face-up Defense Position and you control another face-up "Chess" monster, then your opponent cannot select another target "Chess" monsters you control, except "Chess - The White Rook," as an for attacks target.
That's a long-winded way to go about doing it. Why not leave its anti-attack-target effect innate without any additional conditions, like Machina Sniper?
Once per turn, when this card destroys a monster your opponent controls by battle: You can add 1 Level 4 or lower "Chess" monster from your Deck to your hand.
It'd usually make more sense if its effect activate if it destroys a monster by battle, unless somehow you can grant it a destruction effect for another opportunity for this effect to trigger.
Once per turn, you can target 1 Spell/Trap on your opponent side of the field, controls; destroy that target. This card cannot declare an attack the turn you activate this effect.
Pretty standard for a S/T clearing effect.
Once per turn, if this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can Special Summon 1 "Chess - The White Pawn" from your Deck or hand to the field in face-up Attack Position. If this card is destroyed by battle: then You can Special Summon a 1 "Chess - The White Pawn" monster from your Deck or hand to the field in face-up Attack Position.
Kinda reminds me of Hydrogeddon in that it keeps recruiting copies of itself. If your opponent leaves themselves vulnerable to a direct attack from this card, it will quickly mean that you will get 3 White Pawns on the field, ready for an Xyz/Synchro Summon afterwards. Then again, pawns have been the backbone of a chess formation...

Black pieces are essentially the same as White pieces.
All "Chess" monsters on the field gains 500 ATK points. When this card is destroyed by a card effect: You can add one Level 4 or lower "Chess" monster from your ____ to your hand.
Blank left there because you didn't specify where the Chess monster will come from. Is it the Deck? Or is it the Graveyard?

Quoting Gadjiltron:

So this deck would kind of be similar to Karakuri playing style? More in-content with this idea "countering the opponent's moves. Other cards have the ability to change positions of cards on the field, draw cards, destroy cards, or search for other "Karakuri" monsters,_massive amounts of Special Summons in one turn."

King: Instead of a tribute requirement use other means, that effect isn't helping but other than slowing your set down.
DVqoTBt.jpg
Lore:

If this card was Tribute Summoned by Tributing 2 "Chess" monsters, then this card gains this effect: Once per turn: You can target 1 card on your opponent's side of the field controls; destroy it.
Queen: Again as above, though for the destroy effect i wanted more than just to destroy(something a level 1 couldn't do)
VVWt5u6.jpg
Lore:

While this monster is in face-up Defense Position, your opponent cannot target "Chess" monsters you control, except "Chess - The White Rook," for attacks.
Rook:This card is just slow and un-canning to enhancing deck's capability to win. It's more like a stall.
1FsQE6l.jpg
Lore:

Once per turn, when this card destroys a monster by battle: You can add 1 Level 4 or lower "Chess" monster from your Deck to your hand.
Knight:Could do more, that effect alone in with another effect won't break him.
4YtRlv6.jpg
Lore:

Once per turn, you can target 1 Spell/Trap on your opponent controls; destroy that target. This card cannot declare an attack the turn you activate this effect.
Bishop: The second line is not needed, but can be replaced with another effect that could help speed the monster.

9fwL6YX.jpg
Lore:

Once per turn, if this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can Special Summon 1 "Chess - The White Pawn" from your Deck or hand in face-up Attack Position. If this card is destroyed by battle: You can Special Summon 1 "Chess - The White Pawn" from your Deck or hand in face-up Attack Position..

Pawn: Great, this has more potential than the others, change the second line to something like 'special summon 1 'Chess-The White Pawn' from your graveyard/Banish.

**Others will be done later. I do plan on seeing this set to it's better shape again. It's very interesting!

Set: As of now, no connection with it's own archetype.

Usability:2.8/11.0

Overall: 2.0

Make the requirment at least 3 tributes, to balance the card effect and nothing wrong here(but O.C.G)

No Problem other than the OCG.

Entirely the set itself is rather slow and un-matched with current set releases. No connection with it's own archetype in support of battle and limtations.

Usability:3.1/11.9
