thanonyx
If you were a kid or teen in the 90s you probably watched Disney's Gargoyles. It was one of Disney's most popular and well received animated television series's and still is to this day. It was much darker and had a more complex plot than other shows Disney had been making at the time and we loved it. The show follows the Manhattan clan, formerly the Wyvern clan. consisting of their leader Goliath, former leader Hudson, Brooklyn Goliath's right hand man, Curious tech head Lexington, big eater Broadway, and Bronx who has all the intelligence of a dog and behaves like one too. The Manhattan clan also has their fair share of adversaries most notably David Xanatos, a powerful businessman who only pursues the gargoyles for his own benefit and prosperity, and Demona, a former member and traitor of the Wyvern (now Manhattan) clan. The gargoyles also meet Detective Elisa Maza who is their 1st human ally that they meet in the show, she helps them adjust to modern day living and tries to keep them out of the public eye and to help them better battle their adversaries and getting intel on them. The story begins in Scotland 994 A.D. where the Wyvern clan serve as guardians for the denizens of Wyvern castle. But then one day the humans betray them and side with a group of vikings and many of the gargoyles are killed due to them being stone statues during the day which the humans shatter. Only the six gargoyles survive but unknown to them the royal court magician known only as The Magus believed the gargoyles had killed the castle's princess. Stricken with grief he cast a curse on the remaining six gargoyles so that come morning they would remain stone statues until the castle rose above the clouds. He eventually learned he made a mistake but the curse could not be undone. 1994 A.D. Xanatos buys the castle and has it flown to Manhattan and put on top of his skyscraper and the Gargoyles are freed and the rest is history. If you grew up with Gargoyles and loved it as much as I did, or if you didn't grow up with it but like it anyway, please leave a comment on what you liked about it. If you haven't watched it yet go do so, it's worth it. http://youtu.be/Z7P_990Fb5g

thanonyx
I so remember that. They took out the episode where Broadway accidentally shot Elisa. Yeah, that was the obligatory gun safety episode. The parents whined that it was too traumatic for children and the NRA cried that it was propaganda. Kuri
I remember my cousin and I would stay up and watch this show (when we lived together). It consisted of him and I watching for the first 10 minutes, me sleeping the rest of the night, and him recapping the episode to me. As far as my memory served it stayed on TV until 2006-7 then it just stopped showing up on the channel schedule. The intro scared the crap out of me and we changed the channel for the first 10 seconds. Ahhhh the nostalgia...gets me every time. I also remember it basically being a soap opera for children. If I'm correct the Gargoyles eventually become humans or something right?
