Pokemon X & Y (Post Launch)

Naturally, the Battle areas cheat like hell. And with items like Quick Claw, you may quickly discover exactly how unfair it can be, and that's why people hate them.

Still, I love when I get a good streak going, and then my opponents suddenly drop teams of legendaries against me.

If you want easyish battle mansion wins, look up the truant durant method

Looked it up; Doesn't look all effective, rather it just reminds me of the Mega Gengar/Destiny Bond thing. Especially if you're facing Fire Types. Not even a Focus Sash should help I believe, if Durant has some inconsiderate stats in general. Quick n' Easy IMO is the way to go for the Maison.

Yeah, I've noticed that a lot during my runs at the Battle Institute (and going back two generations to Battle Revolution).

During 4th or final round, you get a Veteran that spams all of the available legendaries that can be used. It's gotten to the point that I've had to resort to using my own legends against them. Most of the time, I kill them; think once or twice, I got screwed by them (only because their Zapdos kept getting Double Team boosts and my "100% accuracy" attacks kept missing; I killed their other two/three though, but not without one of them shooting a Toxic on me before dying). Might help if I don't play as much Doubles or make sure all of my Pokes are compatible with each other in any given situation [or I have them fully trained with the attacks I want].

This is more of a personal thing than the Battle areas cheating, but if any of those veterans even use the Eon twins against me, I personally want to kill them for doing that (even though it's randomized). There are some stuff about the Maison, but not really bothering to do it b/c their movesets are pretty much Smogon-level (or even borderline on hax/cheating)

Think I complained about a earlier instance a few posts back with Mega Lucario and Manectric, but that probably was a misunderstanding on whether or not the Pokemon would get a speed boost in its Mega form and would outspeed the opponent on the first turn.

If you Mega Evolved that turn then that's easily explained, since you still use the base version's Speed in regards to the turn of Mega Evolution, then you use the Mega Evo's for the rest of the time.

If that's not the case then I'm stymied unless your Gengar has crappy Speed IVs

You're right. My gengar came from heart gold so I never bothered to check his EVs. they're terrible, It's literally in all the wrong places for his EVs, so I guess I need to start retraining him. (On the bright side, I now know why he hasn't been doing as much damage as he should have been in his mega form.)

Yeah, that would have done it. The difference between proper EV training and just generic training is pretty staggering, and with the fact that Super Training is available from the word go it is literally easier than EVer to be fully EV trained before you even fight your Rival.

Just check if you have any Reset bags you can use to fix it (or have a lot of the reducing berries on hand).
But yeah, it is easier to EV train [no more having to keep written records of what stats were boosted + guessing unlike in the first five generations]

What made EV training easier isn't that you not longer need to keep a written record (in 4th gen I would just battle the same trainers over and over) its horde battles. Getting 25 per battle makes it a simple matter of "use all of Earthquakes pp". Before, the max you could get per battle was like 14 I think.

Only 25 per battle? Someone isn't using Pokérus.

I like how they did the smart thing by making the maximum EVs you can have for one stat 252.

Wait, this is actually a thing? I don't need to worry about wasting those last 2 EVs anymore? I can be reckless with maxing it out?

I have the option I using Pokerus. The problem is getting it to spread. I've had times where I've had to miss several battles because I like having an constant number of EVs when training and didn't want to start EV training until it spread. Not to mention when you aren't going for the max Pokerus is too heavy handed.

I have some Pokemon infected with Pokerus (indirectly). Since I usually go max in two stats (and leave the last 6 for boosting a third stat slightly), having it isn't too much of a problem. But I do have problems having it spread as well; some of the Pokes I want to train have it and the rest don't (even when they're next to a Pokemon that actively has). Otherwise, I'll just have to keep the Macho Brace on them until it comes [I still have a few more Pokes in box that have Pokerus in case the current ones I'm using get cured]

@Agro: Yeah, you can be reckless about training now and not worry about over EV training. Just make sure you don't have any EVs in stats you don't want to boost.

So as it turns out, the Mew & Deoxys I have from way back when were able to get by the sensors. So this either means I didn't shark them like I thought, I did and the Bank didn't notice, or the Bank doesn't care if it was legit or not because I sharked the item needed to get to them instead of sharking the mons themselves.

Anyway, following that, here are the legendaries I can't get myself to complete my dex:
Tornadus
Reshiram
Landorus

And for realzies:
Shaymin
Meloetta
Genesect

Also, wouldn't mind getting help to get:
Snivy line (I could just use my own system, but this could be faster)
Vullaby line
Binacle line
Amaura line

@Agro: I think I have some spare Amauras in box if you want them; they're Modest though. Need to switch on DS though if you're interested. I think there was a list of Pokebank stuff I still need for dex a few pages back if you have those.

I tried to import a Scizor from White 2 [originally found in HGSS], but it didn't pass. Guy I got it from said he got it during the Bug Catching contest or something. But doesn't matter too much; I can try my luck at getting Scyther on Route 21 [problem is that I need someone to help trade evolve it].

On that note, I need help evolving a Feebas into Milotic (it's named after Zex)

My Darkrai was caught at Lv 2 and still got through. I have no idea what they look for.

I cleared X of all Pokemon bar the Pokemon that are from Non-English games (bar Ditto and Talonflame), a whole 30 boxes to play with.

I would probably guess if it knows any moves that it shouldn't be capable of learning (i.e. Raikou learning Zap Cannon outside of the Gamestop event or something) or if it's not in the proper Poke Ball in the case of events. Maybe it has to do with some Shiny Pokes having high/perfect IVs that aren't event.

Most of the stuff I tried to transfer over got through the filters; only that above Scizor (has Technician and competitive sets) and some Multiscale Lugia [in Dream Balls] never passed (hence why I was looking for the latter a while back). They all had legitimate movesets though, so can't explain why they never got into X.

Does anyone have access to a HA Fennekin (or evolution)? Doesn't have to be anything special, since I can breed it myself from there.

I might be able to check and see if Black has one when he gets back from whatever he's doing.

Someone else might have one and respond sooner, but if no one does I'll check with him.
