Talonflame's always been my breeding slave, because it was my only Flame Body Poke until I got a Volcarona, and I'm not teaching Volcarona Fly.

I actually don't have a set Sweet Scent "slave". I use a Male Combee or a Carnivine. I usually don't horde train far enough from town to require Fly.

Getting really sick of trying to IV breed Skarmory.

I got 2 of them with 4 perfect IVs (HP/ATK/DEF/Spd vs ATK/DEF/SpD/Spd) and no matter what I try, I can't get one with 5 of them :\

Its a matter of luck. You have a 1/6 chance that it won't pass SpA and a 1/2 it will take the correct HP and SpD. Over all your at a bit over 4% to hit.

Anyway, I use Vileplume as my Sweet Scent slave. Never thought to use Tropius though. Normally when I EV train my team is Talonflame, Phanpy, Vileplume, Pokemon being trained, 2 pokemon that I want to level. Changing it over to Tropius would free up the Talonflame slot and let me train 3 pokemon. I also have 3 Lucky Eggs I could use on them. I might just look into this.

Eliminate, make sure you do both of the updates first one will fix a known bug in Lumiose and one will fix GTS bugs. (I don't know if Nintendo have preloaded them on now).

Ah, yes, I was told that an update was available for the game when I tried booting it up. There was only one though and I'm not sure what the update was for.

I just noticed my copy of Y came with a code to get a Scizor. Was this an event at one point or another or just something that came with the game? It only says that it is a Level 50 Scizor and not much else, so I'm lead to believe that it isn't an event like the Torchic one was. But I was just asking because I had no idea.

TBH, if you aren't using a pokemon that uses any Atk-based moves, one should go for 0 ATK IV, or the minimum possible for your ideal hidden power. Foul Play and Swag. I wonder how gen 7 will look...

Getting 0 ATK, or 0 in any stat really, is very hard. Not to mention Swag, and to a lesser extent Foul Play, are uncommon moves. With 5 perfects in all but attack HP will be either dark or dragon, going for 0 doesn't really get you anything on that front.

Edit: Just learned about the SwagPlay combo. I don't think its all that good, but its something I guess.

And I keep getting Skarmory with only 2 perfect IVs :(

Can't even get it when I try to use one of the Power items to heighten the odds.

Power Items will only pass down the one stat guaranteed, and is incompatible with destiny knot.

What I like to do is breed 2 3-IV pokes that have 1 overlapping IVs. So, one would have HP, DEF, SPA, and the other would have SPD SPE and the most important IV. Id breed those two together to get 2 4-IV pokes that have some overlap.

This was pre-6IV ditto, and if you want, I have a few extra.

Also Tropius is pretty boss as a Horde Hunter....it can learn Fly, Sweet Scent, EQ, and Petal Blizzard, so it can hit all 5 at once no matter what...its the most efficent way to do this. Venasaur can learn SS, EQ and PB as well(but no fly)

...strange, it's worked so well so far.

Yeah, but I got 2 with 4 perf IVs, 3 overlapping...

That'd be cool.

Uh... Are you sure Tropius can learn Petal Blizzard? Nothing I'm looking at agrees.
