Male Scizor

If it was a female, I would make a Gatchaman Crowds reference and say to name it "Hajime". GET IT? SCISSORS?

Added you. Well you did say "quote this post".

I just looked through almost 10 pages to see if anyone else got you one and it didn't look like it (unless it was by PM). And that is why I just added you.

Needless to say, you have to get a Braixen from someone else if you don't have it because I haven't finished my third playthrough.

Ima add you, but it'll be sometime tomorrow cuz I don't have internet connection on my 3DS in my dorms. Can I still get the HA without you beating the game?

The chance for the HA isn't that low actually. HA is usually unlocked once you and the other person have been simultaneously online once. Whether or not they've beaten the E4 doesn't matter. From that one connection HA will always be available, irregardless of whether or not that person is online.

I went through a stage where I used Latin names for Animals or Japanese names for pokemon and when the latter was the same moved it for a similar Pokemon. Or even what anime I seem to be watching (e.g a Butterfree named Yugi or Charizard name Ryo). I tended to name my shinies Shiny/Shini for some reason.
Latrodectus (Shortened) -  Ariados.

Latrodectus is the genus for the group of spiders including the Black Widow Spider

Willow - Ninetales

Tsunami - Poliwrath & Octillery

Houdini - Alakazam

Everest - Machamp

Epicentre - Golem

The location where a Earthquake starts is known as the epicentre

Poltageist - Haunter

Callisto - Hitmonlee

Named after one of Jupiter's moons

New Red II - Gyarados

My first gyarados was known as New Red, because it was the Shiny one, this one is named after it.

Zeus - Jolteon

Ganymede - Crobat

Also named after named after moon of Jupiter

Coronal - Xatu

Named after Coronal Mass Ejections that occur on the sun

Zaphod - Espeon

Named after Zaphod Beeblebrox from Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy. Except he had 2 heads.

Pyroclasti (the c didn't fit) - Typhlosion

After Pryroclastic clouds let off during some volcanic eruptions.

Vesuvius - Typhlosion (after the volcano)

Break Down/Hate Me/Astounded - Raiou/Suicune/Entei

Named after 3 of my favourite songs

Diablo - Sharpedo

Tenshi - Altaria

Japanese for Angel

Basalt - Rhyperior

Pitcher - Tangrowth (Makes more sense on Victreebel)

Buta - Mamoswine

German for Snow.

Lahar - Glaceon

As in the volcanic mudflow. Kinda doesn't work here.

Io - Frosslass

Another named after a moon of Jupiter

Bai - Jellicent

Chinese for White, named after Hei from Darker Than Black's sister.

Fudge - Chandelure

Sphyrna - Torterrra

The genus which Hammerhead Sharks belong in.

Chimler - Infernape

After Pearl's Infernape in the manga
I need to work on my names.

I nickname my Pokemon Regular-Ass names that typically begin with the same letter the Final evolution line does (ie: My Lugias are frequently Louie, My Levanny is Laertes) or, if they're on my team, something relating to their type/appearance/Name (Heliolisk is Hyperion, a Sun God, and Gourgeist is Autumn, both a Regular name, and a reference to when October is)

Or just something completely stupid like Gabiyya the Pumpkaboo and Volgoro (???) the Vivillon

Did a test run of my team against a friend and his random assortment of legendaries and his Mega Charazard Y.

Malachite creamed Shaymin's Sky Forme in one hit from his ice punch, followed by Giratina's Orgin Forme taken out by Hydregion's Draco Meteor. From there, I screwed up because I failed to remember the weaknesses and resistances of his remaining Pokemon. Ruby, in mega form, fell in one painful flamethrower against his Mega Charizard Y. Volcorona held his own against it for a couple of turns after. Malachite, Amethyst and Hydregion also fell when he brought out Dialga, in swift precision. Onyx did try to heal them throughout, but it failed. After a few turns of Onyx taking roars of time of Dialga, his health finally got whittled away.

The results?

 • Malachite was ready. He took down a Smogon-rated banned Uber in one hit due to his tremendous Speed and Special Attack.
 • Hydregion was still 'stock' so to say (He's a Japanese event Pokemon), so I still need to choose what build he'll become.
 • Ruby didn't get a chance to prove himself, so nothing there.
 • Volcorona needs more training. He should have survived that hit from Mega Charizard and retaliated if done properly.
 • Onyx needs a better selection of status moves. Yawn is ineffective if my opponent can just switch out for another uber.
 • Amethyst need a entire re-spec. Didn't stand a chance.
 • I'm not a competitive player. I failed to utilize STAB, strengths and resistances following Giratina's fall, costing me the match.

If you need help as far as practice goes, I'm open to a few tests whenever I'm online. I'm retraining my BW2 team after switching them over and finding out that over half of my old teams had somehow maxed their DEF EVs and ONLY their DEF EVs instead of the EVs I was trying to give them.

Sure. I can do with a few beating to show me the ropes.

In a sorta-related note, if you had to choose a team of non-legendary Pokemon on aesthetics alone, what will they be and why?

Ninetails, because kirara and tamamao are adorable, and ninetails reminds me of them.

Milotic, because it's beautiful

Typhlosion, because it's my favorite of all starters.

Venusaur, because http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHG-JO8gIGk is hilarious

Goodra, because of the sweet, sweet gooeyness.

and rounding out the team is gardevoir, because apparently it can make black holes (Omnicidal pokemaniac FTW!)

A team of all Eons! *shot*

Hmm...Froslass, because it's awesome. Espeon because it's soooo cute. Milotic because it's gorgeous. Eelektross because why not. Serperior because I seem to have a serpentine Pokemon obsession, and Ninetales because its vengeful nature and beauty rounds out the theme of my Pokes.

On a side note, am I weird that, whenever I'm training Pokes competitively, and use Poke Amie, one of the first things I do is try to find the Pokemon's "dislike" area? I did it at first for all the Eons because I was raising all 8 anyway.
Eevee: Top of head

Umbreon: Ear rings

Espeon: Gemstone

Jolteon: Its nose

Sylveon: Its nose (I think)

Vaporeon: Top head fin (pet it vertically to avoid brushing other areas it's more tolerant of)

Flareon: Its neck fur, oddly enough. (but...it's so fluffy!)

Leafeon: Sprout on chest

Glaceon: The bottom of the dangling flaps

Abra: Its feet (no noticeable reaction, but petting there makes it teleport briefly)

Kadabra: Its spoon (shocking)

Alakazam: Its left-hand spoon (your right). It shows no reaction to touching the other spoon.

Zubat/Golbat/Crobat: Mouth (for all 3)

I could go on, but I won't.
But what's weird is that some ghosts, notably the entire Gastly line, DON'T HAVE ONE. I assume it's more "the thought that counts", because your 'hand' is phazing through their body, but they seriously aren't bothered at all that I could find.

Let's see.

Espeon - Good speed and special attack; kinda mandatory for me to use it for a couple reasons. Plus it's cute.

Infernape - Want a monkey that can punch people and set things aflame.

Metagross - It's a robot

Jolteon - Lightning dog (or is it a fox or something, idk). It's an Eeveelution as well.

Gengar - For scaring people, walking into ground moves and returning fire with even greater force.

Garchomp - It's a dragon type and fast.

(I think I just gave my PBR team from 4th gen; need to tone down reading the OU section of the Smogon dex.)

Just saw a shiny Treverant while I was EV Training my Vaporeon

I had to let it go... the pain, the horror!

While it would suck, if I was ever in that position I would do the same thing no contest. I got lucky that when I got my Gulpin it matched the EV I was training.

Yeah, that sucks when you run into shinies but either you don't have room in box anymore or training (not sure if you get EV points from catching a Poke though; EXP is gained for it however)

If the battle gives EXP you get EVs from it.

That helps, because it's a pain in the neck if you have to use the Reset bag b/c you caught a Poke during training.

I need to grow certain berries b/c I either messed up on them during early XY or during the White 2 runs b/c I didn't care about training them properly or I had to use said Pokes for fighting in-game [and the unintentional EVs weren't avoidable]. Though I find it easier to use the Reset Bag if the Pokemon's EVs are totally screwed up; it's happened with some of the GTS legends I've gotten lately.

Speaking of naming pokemon, I generally don't, but I want to nickname my battle box pokemon.

Do you guys know if "death" is allowed in nicknames? I it is, then I'll breed my Cofagrigus to have a nameable one, to call it Death Toll, in reference to the Cancer saint of the sequel of Saint Seiya, who builds and collects coffins (funnily, the previously introduced Cancer saint was known as Death Mask, and that is the japanese name of Yamask).

I'm starting my first Masuda Method of Pawniards all with Adamant Nature and Defiant. Already 1 box filled so far. I'm not sure if this is goign to work even if I have I am using a Japanese Ditto and Shiny Charm, but I think it's worth the patience to have a functional anti-Aegislash with dat blue colored awesomeness. Anyone want any rejects adoptees?

Nintendo are quite clever with there naming filters. They filter out names that could refer to offensive controversies and terms, along with swearing. I think Death should be fine however. It's not a bad word at all.

And yes, I'll take a Pawniard. I would enjoy having a Bisharp on my roster in the future. And if you want blue awesomeness, get a shiny Umbreon.

Also, if you do catch a shiny Pawniard, name it Checkmate.
