Polymerization (errata)

Recommended Posts

To be fair though, the text is much shorter.

Over-explaining such a simple card is not that necessary.

At least it is more clear than the LOB text.

This one says you use Fusion Materials from your hand or your side of the field, and mentions Extra Deck.

It also doesn't need to be nitpicky on timing there. You use them for X, but it's not a cost, so yeah.

The card is pretty obsolete. It's a -1 until Fusions find a good reason to run it.

So far it's been bacause other than Machines, Dragons, and HEROs, everything else has no other alternative, but I want to see benefits for using it in Fusions.

I saw throughout the years some clever ways of doing this at Realistic Cards in this forum. Like "if it used Polymerization, draw 1 card", etc.

Granted, it doesn't change the fact that there is no other fusioning card to unlock most Fusions in the game, but still.

It's actually a -2.  Also, there needs to be better generic fusions that make up for the advantage lost.  Hmm...

Destiny End Dragoon is a card that is worth Polying for. Can't think of another one right now...

It is, in and of itself, more than worth polying, and it's made of a pair of the same good card.

Issue is that anything running CyDra and poly's going to be bad for a plethora of other reasons.

Probably because all Cydra Decks should probably use Power Bond, rather than Poly.

I prefer having my Shining Angel destroyed by battle, special summoning The Light Hex Sealed Fusion, normal Summoning Proto-Cyber Dragon, activating Miracle Fusion to fuse Light Hex and Sparkman in grave and summon Shining Flare Wingman, then slamming into Mirror Force.

But yeah, Polymerization. They can't make better fusion monsters because otherwise better versions of Polymerization (Miracle Fusion, Dragon's Mirror) will be overpowered. They just need to make a better version of Polymerization.

Am I like, stupid or something or is there no real good reason not to have a "Graveyard Fusion" that's just an Archetype-less Miracle Fusion?

I sure they do similar changes for all Fusion cards. I just wonder what a Miracle Fusion-kind of wording would be like. Maybe "Banish those Fusion Materials" at the end?

Also, what would Dark Calling's wording look like?

It'll probably by like:

Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster that can only be Special Summoned with "Dark Fusion" from your Extra Deck by banishing monsters from your hand or Graveyard as Fusion Materials. (This Fusion Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon with "Dark Fusion".)
