Azuh
Totally called it Plus the same errata appears on Fiend Skull Dragon (which they could've changed the name of really).
TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
So, is this the first normal monster that has a condition officially errata'd into the card?
AGATHODAIMON BANGTAIL COW
I'm playing Yugi the Destiny right now. It's really good for getting around those pesky Mystical Elves and Giant Soldiers of Stone. However, this card's ATK doesn't make up for its lack of effect anymore. The only thing this has over the Monarchs is the whole "is an Archfiend" thing, which probably doesn't help it much at all. Then there's EEV, but that's Limited and Grapha exists. Waitwaitwaitwait -- what? Do people even play archfiends? Second, man this is weird. Is this the first time a card didn't get a ruling, but just changed the card's text? Kingdom Xathers
Now they just need to do the same to Gazelle, King of Mythical Beasts. ... despite the fact that regular Phantom Beasts are severely under-supported.

Sleepy
Think they should do it to B. Skull Dragon? And Beast of Talwar, and Axe of Despair. In casual games, It'd probably end up looking like a whine from a bad loser or something unless proof like this is in the card itself. I think it's a good thing. That it's not something you'd have to look up to know how to play it. BTW, Has there been any spoilers on the Legendary Collection boosters? I mean, I'm somewhat exited, but if I don't really know even 5 cards that would come out of it, it's just not as much of a hook for me. (and I don't mean the ones you get for sure like Tokens or Blue Flame, but inside the boosters)
Bull3tM0nk3y
Why Axe of Despair? It doesn't have Archfiend in it's name. And why Skull? Seriously, am I retarded or something?
Azuh
Why Axe of Despair? It doesn't have Archfiend in it's name. And why Skull? Seriously, am I retarded or something? [quote=Wiki] According to the Upper Deck Entertainment website, "Archfiendsare a special category of card. Most "Archfiend" cards can be easily identified by their name. Any card with "Archfiend" in the card name is an "Archfiend." This category was officially introduced with the release of Dark Crisis, as a way to standardize the English translation of OCG card names containing "Daemon" 「デーモン」. Some non-Archfiend cards have it spelled "Demon". The Japanese name of "Regenerating Rose", 「スプリット・Dデモン・ローズ」 translates to "Split Demon Rose", but "Demon" is spelled 「デモン」, so it is not an Archfiend. Some monsters have Japanese names with "Demon" as a possible translation. Arguably, this was the first attempt by the creators of Yu-Gi-Oh! to establish an archetype, and set a standard by which archetypes would be defined thereafter. Since some Japanese cards with names containing "Daemon" 「デーモン」 had already been released in the English TCG, they were retroactively classified as "Archfiends", although their official names were left unchanged. These include: A Deal with Dark Ruler Axe of Despair B. Skull Dragon Beast of Talwar Fiend Skull Dragon Lesser Fiend Shadow Tamer Summoned Skull Toon Summoned Skull Starting with "Axe of Despair" in Battle Pack 2: War of the Giants, these cards in the TCG have started to include archetype conditions in their text to classify them as "Archfiends". Bull3tM0nk3y
Okay, now, a few questions: One, what about cards like Harpies' Brother? It says its not a harpie card, but it has harpie in its name. Two, Upper Deck got kinda banned from selling YGO cards. There was a legal dispute about it I'm pretty sure. evilfusion
It's an important change not specifically whether people play Archfiends, but because PSCT is also being directed at solving ruling issues. One of which was the naming of several cards prior to "Archfiend" being an archetype, since it was originally Demon/Daemon, and undoubtedly to avoid religious problems, those cards were renamed. It wasn't until Dark Crisis that an actual archetype was designed with that name. Because of this, a ruling was issued that labeled several cards as being "Archfiends", but few people actually remember those cards, even though them being Archfiends was slightly significant. Other cards that got hit with this problem were Oscillo Hero #2 (Wattkid now), Harpie's Brother (Harpie support up to that point very specifically involved Harpie Lady or Sisters), any card with the name "Guardian" in it (numerous of which were mentioned specifically on Arsenal Summoner as not being Guardian cards), etc. Also, this card is vaguely relevant due to being a Level 6 Archfiend monster. We just need Commander to get released for THAT to be important.
