A suggestion regarding the Evil Team. Perhaps, if mentioning Deoxys, you could centre their theme around the nature of enhanced Pokemon? You could then bring Mewtwo and even Genesect into the equation.

Of course, disregard this if you have an idea in mind.

Know it was kind of done with Galactic (but not really) but I was gonna make the Team space-y. Like, Lunatones, Solrocks, etc. But that could be something I add to them.

I was about to suggest that the Evil Team could be after the Regis to release the ancient power of Regigigas, and have different divisions searching for them (the Regice division would battle with Dark, Ice and perhaps Water Pokemon, and so on). But then I noticed your Elite 4 and Champion have them in their teams.

If you like the idea, you can still make it work. For instance, I'm thinking that an interesting event could be the team challenges the Elite 4 in an attempt to steal their Regis, and the protagonist shows up to help the Elite.

 

Now, this is more of a request but it would be great if you took the liberty of changing (or "fixing") the types of certain Pokemon. Some examples that come to my mind would be:

Aggron: Change to pure Steel. The Steel/Rock type combination only hurts him with x4 weakness to both Fight and Ground. Although it would lose STAB on Head Smash, as pure Steel he would be more sturdier, which is worth more than the STAB my opinion.

Regigigas: Change to Fight type. It bothers me how the master of the Regi Trio has a type that is actually disadvantageous against its minions (except Regice). A change to Fight type, along with access to a couple of Fight-Type moves, not only would depict its superiority over the 3 Regis (Fight being effective against Steel, Rock and Ice), but also would make the Pokemon more useful overall.

It's bad ethics to change Pokemon's types around from what Game Freak already designated. The only real exception is when you're introducing a brand new type and believe one of the new Pokemon can actually fit said type. Even then, it would be better to just add that type if you can, rather than swap one type for another.

You can have Fire/Ice and Water/Rock as the final evos if ya wanna go with Grass/Dragon. That way, all 3 types have a STAB to hit the weaker one for x4 damage.

 

If you still need ideas for how the villainous team will work, I might be able to help you with that as well.

Aaaand, as for the space team thing. They could have, Cleffa/Clefairy/Clefable, Elgyem/Beheeyem, Solrock and Lunatone, Staryu/Starmie. Hmm, lot of Psychic types. Interesting. Are you gonna make them all have the same few Pokemon? I hope there is some variety.

Fire vs. Water/Rock = 25%, Ice vs. Water/Rock 100%, Fire vs. Grass/Dragon 100%, Ice vs. Grass/Dragon 400%

Water vs. Grass/Dragon = 25%, Rock vs. Grass/Dragon = 100%, Water vs. Fire/Ice = 100%, Rock vs. Fire/Ice = 400%

Basically, all is fair perfectly so.

Thank you guys so much, especially Admiral for coming up with the triangle. :3 Now I just need a goal and name for the team, the goal having something to do with Deoxys.

Name for the team..... Could just go with Team Astro. Goal could be so many things. There are many ways to utilize a super space Pokemon. Random thought, to use the space energy to super charge their Pokemon or something. If you plan on letting them catch Deoxys it would give a chance to do some story battle stuff where the bad guys Pokemon get boosted or something. (It's late so this may be a crap idea, or rambly but there you have it just tossing it out there hope it helps.)

I was thinking of a crater, and the team tries to take energy from the fallen meteor and finds Deoxys in the process. Then stuff about them trying to use Deoxys itself and etc. Its late so I'll type more in the morning. :L

Touché. And even if it isn't enough, you can always have the Fire Starter pull a Feraligatr and have it fully evolved by Level 30.

 

Granted, it's not entirely necessary, but it's an option nonetheless.

As for the name of the evil team, I'm not sold on Team Astro; I personally find it meh at best. Team Quasar might be better, unless we decide to go right outside the box.

I think a Fire/Ice starter would be very weird, cause, y'know... Fire melts Ice. Unless they're made out of Nevermelt Ice.

To be fair, Rockets have nothing to do with gangs and Plasma has nothing to do with worldwide liberation. :L 

 

Aqua and Magma are really the only teams whose names pertained truly to their goal. Galactic was there too but not quite all the way. 

 

With Triton being a moon, they'll probably focus on moon stone evolution lines but will still use sun stone lines and other space Pokemon such as Lunatone and Solrock and that one Psychic in Gen V I'm too lazy to look up its name.

So like I said, now that I know, at least it does have some form of connection. Maybe I'm liking it better now that we both explained everything. Yeah. I'm weird.


Okay, now that you've mentioned Lunatone and Solrock again, I've got a question. Even though changing types would be far to out there to consider most of the time, are you thinking about changing movepools/stats? For weaker fully evolved/only one stage Pokemon (since I've literally never heard anyone say they've used a Lunatone or Solrock, but I could be mistaken). Although, It's probably not needed, especially if only Grunts use them.

something I have been thinking about is adding some evolutions. I will not be using every existing Pokemon to date so that gives me room to replace the ones I'm not using with fakemon, thus the custom starters.

Why not have another team that's their rival, like Aqua and Magma? Have a team based on the sun, in parallel to Triton, and focus on sun stone evolutions. It thought it would be pretty nice to have two teams as rivals like Aqua/Magma, since it would probably add more to the story. That what I would think anyway.
