L0SS
I wanted something quite distinct, so I made everything popped and neon. CnC appreciated as always. This may well be another half-baked concept. Soundtrack: http://youtu.be/MF90rX43VpE
Night
Above all else you need direction. You're at the point where you've done relatively all you can on your own, it'd be best to emulate others now. .Psd's are literally the most viable at the stage your in, also collabs. So yeah, find some .psd's on tagfreak and other graphics related sites and try to emulate the style and techniques you see, also, take the initiative and start a piece then just send the file over to someone and see how they execute it. Your concepts are brilliant, you just need a little clarity moving forward.

Sound advice, and I feel exactly in the position you've just described, stuck in a routine with little room to manoeuvre, and with concepts far above my skill set. In regards to sending files over, that someone may have to be you. Thanks for the advice, I think I'll do some research on approaching artistic mediums as a whole, as I'm little versed in the greater practises. Tormented
Doesn't hurt to ask me to collab with you, you bloody donkey. The .PSD thing is only situational IMHO, I've looked at .PSDs and have never really learnt much from them. So I guess it's down to your learning style. Also I'm going to steal this from 'Alee because fuck da policia. Don't complete a piece in one sitting go back to it the next day or a few hours later, you'll end up missing something. The 2nd piece would've looked great full neon but because the effect the left side is left looking a bit dull.

No but seriously, almost everyone here has gone through the .psd phase, if you're not learning from them then you're not doing it correctly. chairman ali
I myself feel that looking at an artwork is more efficient than looking at a PSD. It teaches you to manipulate your own techniques into something newer.
L0SS
I myself feel that looking at an artwork is more efficient than looking at a PSD. It teaches you to manipulate your own techniques into something newer. To be honest, that's the direction I want to head in. I think I'll do both, although the theory side is lacking in a lot of the stuff I do. It's all good and well having a concept, but being able to execute that concept effectively is a different matter. Where would be a good place to start when it comes to art theory? chairman ali
DeviantART has many basic art fundamental theory tutorials. That would be a good place to begin.
L0SS
Okay, I'll take a look, and hopefully get more serious about it. Thank you for your advice.
