Hacking in Video Games

I'm fine with people hacking, as long as they don't bring it online. People like to play outside the rules, and hacking is a way to do it. It's been around since video games exist and will probably never go away.

Hacking shouldn't be banned, so long as it's not giving the player an unfair advantage to other players. Which is why I propose that hacking should be restricted to single-player games.

Hacking is annoying. Companies who make online games should do what Rockstar did with Max Payne 3's multiplayer, making anyone found hacking placed into a "Cheater's Pool", where they can only play games with other hackers.

If only hacking were like this, then it'd be fun for everyone.

"Hacking" is a very strong term. I believe the euphemism that should be used here is "modding"... ;)

The only hacking I've done lately is SSBB because I like playing with different music, stages, and character skins. I don't play online though, because that game's online play sucks. I've tried to hack a couple Pokemon games in the past, but I gave up because I had little to no incentive for it. I also know how to hack Civilization II, but that's pretty simple because it was made in the previous century.

Oh yeah, and YVD

Don't care much about stricter policies, since I don't play online. I don't disagree with the idea of modding at all, though, because it infuses creativity into a game beyond what the original creators had in mind and allows for personalization of your own gaming experience. I mean, you could even compare it to the cardmaker... we're all just modding the game of Yu-Gi-Oh, right?

I agree with you 100% I hack in Singleplayer games but only ALREADY MADE HACKS, such as Action Replaying with an Emulator to get Regice in Leaf Green.

The reason I replied to you is for this:

Is that the creeper Chizuru from that disturbing anime?

Do you do it? Why?

No, never seen any point in it.
Do you want to do it? Why?

Not really, I'd only consider it after completing a game and even then only if it got mega boring. Which is never.
Should we have stricter hacking policy in US/Europe? Is there even a way?
If there was a way to get hackers banned from some ip blacklisting system or something, I dunno.
Topic came about because I spend at least 10 mins a day reporting hackers. *sigh*

On what game?

I use them to play against other hackers. You wanna god mode, fly and headshot the enemy team with your knife? I will do the same.

It's actually quite hilarious watching tryhard hackers seriously duking it out on things like trade servers in TF2.
